Chapter 43 - Lies

"Tsk, those arrogant Su family members. Ancestral, do you have any idea why they closed off the continent?"Wei Ming asked.

The ancestral pondered for a moment and then said, "The last time something like this happened was a few thousand years ago on the northern continent. There, the remnants of an ancient civilization, known to all but mysteriously vanished, were discovered by the Su family. It was sealed in one of the forbidden places on the northern continent."

"They closed off the entire continent and sealed the teleportation gate. There's only one reason they would do this."

"Golden information is the most expensive and rare they sell. The Su family is the most greedy family; they will do everything to maximize their profit."

"When something very important or rare happens on the continents, they lock down the information and then sell it for a hefty sum along with a soul contract to prevent the information from spreading. After extracting the maximum amount of money, they will reopen the teleportation gate, and the guardians will leave," the ancestral explained.

"But what happened on the continent that would be considered golden information?" One of the elders asked.

"Tsk, that's obvious. What changes have occurred on the continent these last few days? They probably already know that the boy in the wanted poster emerged from the Frozen Abyss, and the snowstorm was caused by him."

"The boy is a complete mystery, just like the Frozen Abyss always was. With the changes in the world caused by the snow, forces would undoubtedly come to investigate the Frozen Abyss."

"But now that the Su family knows, for both major and minor forces to enter the continent, they will have to pay a high price. To know exactly what happened in the abyss, they will pay even more."

"After extracting the maximum amount of money with this information, they will reopen the teleportation gate, and the guardians will leave," the ancestral said, glancing suddenly at the hall's door.

"They finally arrived."

She said this after sensing three people approaching.

Then the gate opened, and three people dressed in simple yellow robes with an herb on their chests entered. One was an ancient and hunched man, as if he could die at any moment, but despite that, there was a rich aura of vitality around him.

On his left was a middle-aged man with a gentle smile on his face, and on his right was the young master in yellow who had been robbed by Ling Xue.

"Oh, old hunchback, so it's you who came. I'm amazed you're still alive," said the ancestral with a rare smile, looking at the old hunchback.

"Haha, don't worry; I won't die before you. It's been about two thousand years, if I'm not mistaken..." said the old hunchback.

...

..

.

The two exchanged several words and seemed to be old acquaintances. After a while, the three from the Medicinal Mountain of the South sat in chairs prepared by the ancestral.

Then a long conversation began. The resentful young master recounted how he found Ling Xue and what happened to him.

He began to talk about how Ling Xue was an evil being, claiming that he manipulated Li Yuemei for his own purposes. He also included in the false report numerous abuses and mistreatments that Li Yuemei had suffered, claiming that the scars on her body were due to this.

Not only that, but he told the story with numerous details, carefully thought out, only to make the Sacred Land treat Ling Xue as a ruthless villain. These lies were completely elaborated to incite even more hostility and hatred against Ling Xue, leaving no room for them to think about the true relationship between Yuemei and Ling Xue.

He told countless lies. With the good reputation of the Medicinal Mountain of the South, everyone believed in the young man's account; even the old hunchback was filled with hatred for Ling Xue. In the end, everyone in the Sacred Land of the South had an even greater hatred for Ling Xue.

The ancestral was fuming with anger, and after the three left the hall, she said it coldly.

"Wei Ming, release the guardian beast and bring the sealing gates."

Wei Ming was surprised and asked, "Do we need all this? Despite being able to use the Law of Ice, I don't think it's necessary to use so many things."

"It's never too much. We know nothing about the boy. The only thing we know is that despite Li Yuemei suffering at his hands, she is still alive, and we will save her at any cost. Now go and do what I told you."

"They are in the Beast Mountains, and they will cross them. The Beast Mountains are terrifying not only because there are terrible beasts in the saint realm but also because of the sky above them."

"The climate of the sky in the Beast Mountains is terrifying, and it is impossible to fly above a certain height. The sky in the central part of the Beast Mountains becomes a terrifying space storm."

"It is impossible to fly over the mountains, and the only way is the 'Eternal Wind Trail,' and the end of this path is precisely here, where we will be ready." She pointed to an area on a map.

"When this happens, he won't be able to escape, no matter his strength," the ancestral said, touching the table in front of her, which instantly turned to ashes.

Then everyone left the room after the ancestral gave them numerous orders.

*****************

In the skies of the Beast Mountains, Li Yuemei and Ling Xue were flying peacefully, unaware of what the Sacred Land was preparing for them.

After leaving the cave, they had been flying for several days already. They encountered numerous beasts on the way; most were Beast Kings, which Li Yuemei used for training and getting accustomed to her strength.

They encountered some Beast Emperors, but Ling Xue took care of them using only the Law of Ice, deeming it unnecessary to use the power of his physical, pure ice.

Then, after passing through numerous mountains, even taller ones appeared, blocking the path like an immense wall. These mountains were so tall that it was impossible to see their peaks.

As they arrived, Ling Xue looked at the immense cloud blocking the entire sky ahead, covering the mountaintops. The clouds were filled with thunder, and even at a distance, he felt the tremendous pressure. Moreover, an extremely strong wind was blowing in all directions.

Li Yuemei used her corrupted Lunar Qi to create a barrier around her body for protection.

Ling Xue did the same, creating a thin shield of pure ice around him, almost invisible, not because the wind hurt him but because he found it annoying.

Then he said to Li Yuemei, "Let's descend; we will go the way the book described."

He read about the Beast Mountains in the books and understood that it would be difficult to pass through them. Although he thought he could manage it if he were alone, for Li Yuemei's sake, he decided to take the safe route.
