Chapter 14 - Chapter 12. Limit (1)

(The moment when Zero threw Conrad)

---

Conrad created air currents behind him to stop the flight. Zero appeared right in front of him. He hit the warrior in the stomach with such force that he flew to the outskirts of the city in an instant.

The impact of his landing left a depression in the ground. Conrad took advantage of the cloud of rising dust, hiding in it.

Zero flew to the place where Conrad fell. The warrior created a vortex with a circular wave that began to suck in Zero. The monster surrounded itself with a barrier of wind, the flow of which made it possible to ignore the attraction of the vortex.

More wind cuts flew towards Zero. He parried them with spears made of wind energy. Conrad attacked the monster with a lunge, but now the wind energy was concentrated throughout the entire blade of the sword, increasing its sharpness many times over.

When the warrior almost flew up to the monster, holding the hilt of the sword with both hands, he turned it in two places. In the first in a clockwise direction, in the second in the opposite direction.

The massive blade of the two-handed sword detached from the hilt, flying towards the monster with even greater speed.

As the two-handed sword's blade detached, a thinner and more graceful blade appeared from its center. This massive part of a two-handed sword was just a sheath for a one-handed blade.

The blade of the greatsword broke through Zero's protective barrier. The monster used the wind to change the direction of the blade's flight. It flew near his face, leaving a small cut on his cheek.

Conrad instantly found himself behind Zero. The warrior's speed increased significantly.

He launched a series of lightning strikes, finally destroying the barrier and throwing the monster to the ground with air currents. The warrior used the air currents to catch the blade of his greatsword as it flew past, and then threw it back at Zero.

The monster quickly recovered from its impact with the ground and concentrated a colossal amount of wind energy around its body. He disappeared right before the blade flying towards him appeared before his eyes.

Conrad and Zero exchanged blows at such speed that their afterimages remained in space. The already destroyed outskirts of the city with incredible speed were covered with traces of the battle of two creatures, the strength of which cannot be described in words.

A happy smile not left Zero's face.

Conrad's rage grew stronger and stronger.

The monster threw Conrad beyond the city boundaries with a powerful stream of wind. The warrior landed on both feet, absorbing the blow. His body was covered with numerous wounds that were bleeding.

Conrad's condition was aggravated by the fact that the [Transformation] technique continued to destroy his body from the inside. The longer he was in this state, the less time he had to live.

The warrior was breathing heavily. He tried to catch his breath and gather his last remaining strength.

Zero walked towards him with a calm, measured step. The wounds on the monster's body slowly healed. Conrad's super-dense energy was able to slow down his regeneration.

- Is that all?

Zero asked disappointed. His eyes began to water.

Conrad, watching Zero's expression, became so angry that he began to gather more and more energy around his body.

The wind speed grew rapidly. Due to the friction of wind energy flows with each other, electrical discharges began to jump through space.

Hope appeared on Zero's face.

He repeated after Conrad and more powerful electrical discharges erupted around him. The opponents resumed exchanging blows.

Conrad used cutting attacks and lunges, accompanied by emissions of powerful streams of wind energy, from which electric shocks burst out.

Zero masterfully controlled the wind, embodying the energy in the forms of a variety of weapons, which not only parried Conrad's onslaught, but also attacked the warrior from all sides.

Conrad, noticing that Zero's current fighting style was not causing any serious damage to Zero, changed his approach. He sped up even more. Twelve after-images of the warrior appeared in space, distracting the monster, and Conrad himself stepped back.

[Wind Path: Space of Madness]

The space around the opponents was filled with countless small air spheres, which constantly released a huge amount of energy cuts.

When one cut collided with another, an explosion occurred, which created even more cuts of less power. And this continued until the moment they became so weak that they looked like a breath of a light breeze.

The bodies of Conrad and Zero were quickly covered with new cuts. But the monster gradually recovered, but the condition of the warrior's body gradually worsened. Conrad's consciousness began to cloud.

When all the spheres disappeared, the opponents exchanged another blow, which knocked them away from each other. Conrad's breathing became very heavy, and his heart was ready to stop at any second.

- You can do more!

Zero sincerely encouraged the warrior.

Suddenly they saw a huge meteorite in the center of the city. And then there was an explosion.

- Damn it!

Conrad quickly realized that a technique of such power was only possible during the period of using [Transformation]. Among all his comrades, the most reckless person who could use it was Walter.

Driven by a sense of responsibility, Conrad, more than ever before, felt the need to quickly end this battle. He channeled wind energy into his wounds and, acting almost instinctively, began to use it to pump blood throughout his body. Thus, he was able to regain his strength and eliminate the need for the work of the heart and lungs.

- Right! Forget everything you know about energy techniques!

A smile appeared on Zero's face again:

- Go beyond this limit!

The wind energy that enveloped the monster's body disappeared for a second.

Conrad decided to take advantage of this moment and attacked Zero. But he disappeared right before his eyes. The warrior's attack passed through the air.

When Conrad turned around, he saw Zero, who was enveloped in a completely different energy. Bright blue electrical discharges emanated from his body.

- Look at me! Learn from me!

Zero screamed furiously and rushed at the warrior.

Conrad tried to block his blow, but was thrown straight into the remaining part of the city's defensive wall. Its thickness was ten meters, but Conrad's body broke through this barrier in an instant.
