Alex approached Lena and her fellow hunters with a calm and non-threatening demeanour, his hands raised to show he meant no harm. The hunters, however, remained on guard, their suspicion evident in their cautious stance.
"Alex? What are you doing here?" Lena asked suspiciously, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any potential threats.
"Hey, Lena," Alex replied, his tone gentle and reassuring.
"I didn't mean to startle anyone. I just heard some noise and decided to check it out." He slowly lowered his hands, hoping to convey his sincerity.
Despite his explanation, Alex felt a pang of disappointment that Lena still seemed wary of him. He understood that trust needed time, especially with their adrenaline still running high from the fight.
