As if struck by lightning, Alex's heart began to pound fiercely. Blood started pumping through his veins, and when he finally opened his eyes, the crimson-red radiance was so intense that it bathed the entire vicinity in an eerie, vibrant glow.
"This spear… I see; this will take a lot to heal," Alex said, but it was not in his usual voice.
His hand began to move, slowly lifting the spear that had impaled him to the ground. As he pulled it through his body, blood splattered everywhere. Once the golden spear was fully removed, he tossed it aside.
