There were four others on the floor beside him, all seemingly high-schoolers. There was a boy with black hair and brown eyes, with relatively square facial features. He was wearing a school uniform, just like the others.
Another one was a girl with long, presumably dyed, hip-length blue hair, blue doe eyes and overall innocent-looking features. There was also a girl with brown hair tied in pigtails, along with round, brown eyes. The last guy had white hair, also presumably dyed, along with sharp, blue eyes, and a decently handsome face.
Aion presumed a lot due to the fact that, if he was summoned to this world from his, others could have come from their respective worlds as well. If that was the case, then there's no guarantee that those beside him were from his world, therefore, their hair could possibly be real and not dyed. It was possible that they weren't even of his own race.
That said, they all had school uniforms on. The fact they were of different colors and designs did not hold any weight, seeing as how that was normal even in his world.
Aion was normally someone who didn't judge people based on outside appearances or things he saw them do in short periods of time; he just wasn't a judgmental person. Yet, the people beside him emanated cliché.
Immediately, in his mind, he started creating possible theories for how their personalities would be. Who would be hot-headed? Who would be calm? Would the girls swarm around the handsome guy? All of these questions made him excited, as he could finally live out one of the fantasies he dreamed of for so long.
The second the King's words left his mouth, Aion's mouth watered up in his mind, like he had just seen the most appetizing meal of his life.
It was perfect. An overly cliché plot, incredibly cliché execution; fuck, even the characters were cliché! Yet, the clichéness of it only made him more excited.
As bizarre as it may be, he was ecstatic at the incredibly unoriginal world that was just presented before him. Even though he had only heard his purpose for being summoned, he could already guess the cliché mechanics of this world. Magic, levels, monsters, fantasy races, a system that gives the heroes summoned a ridiculously bullshit skill granted to the heroes, instead of giving them to that very world's soldiers.
But the one question that burned atop his mind, which he could barely contain from bursting out of his head and asking the King directly, was one, and one alone: What overpowered skill would he get?
Now that he began to actually think about it, he had no idea what skills the side characters in the manga he read actually got. This was due to him only really paying attention to the main character and his Kill Everything that Moves with a Slight Vibration of your Rectum skill. He'd never actually seen the more realistic skills of those worlds.
Suddenly, in his mind, he started panicking. What if he got one of those shitty side-character skills, and was left to suffer by the others without plot armor? Such an outcome was completely unacceptable if he had even a single strand of hope for living a day in this new world.
Once again indirectly snapping him out of his trance, the King spoke. "To help you on your journey, special assistance will be given to you via the system, a force that regulates the world and makes it possible to gain levels, skills, attributes and magic." The King stops, before continuing, as if he forgot to explain something. "Oh, right. We've summoned multiple heroes in the past, and none of them knew what the system and its mechanics were, so let me explain them to you know shortly."
"Within this world, there exists levels, magic, attributes and skills; as well as other races like goblins, orcs and, of course, the demons, among others. The system allows for all races, including humans, to grow and obtain unique strengths not found in others, as well as communicate with each other despite speaking different languages."
In this moment, Aion had a thought: Why could I understand him? What may normally be an irrational question, was completely warranted in this situation. In fact, it was strange that he had not asked himself so sooner. I mean, this was another world; so why, despite him speaking a foreign language not even from his world, could he understand him!?
It was thanks to the system, a concept Aion was very familiar with, due to his numerous hours of reading Isekai manga. It's essentially like the UI in an RPG, that tells you what items you can equip, your level, stats, etc.
"Some people are simply born with superior genetics, which allows them to be faster, stronger, more agile, etc. But whether stats are gained upon birth or after exercise, they are both rewarded and displayed in the system, distributed among five attributes: Health, Strength, Speed, Mana, and Intelligence." -continued the king.
"Each of these attributes is represented numerically. The average Health for an adult is around 200, Strength 15, Speed 30, Mana 10 and Intelligence 50. These, however, are the average attributes of adults without any special skills. Someone with a strength-specialized skill may have 2-10 times the amount of health as a normal person, while someone with a strength-based skill may have 2-5 times or more strength than normal. Attributes also eventually grow as one levels up. The average level in this world is somewhere around 20, and the average knight is level 30. Skills are classified into five tiers, from most common to least common: Soldier, Knight, King, Emperor, and Saint"
The guys beside you all showed a relatively curious expression, most likely at the grandiose names given to the classifications, wondering of what they could be capable of.
The handsome guy with white hair spoke up, in a respectful tone. "What is the difference between classifications, sir?"
The King replied. "If you mean the difference between rarity, then it's a marginal difference. Soldier-Class skills are the most common. They're usually strong enough to guarantee you a spot in an army of a decently-sized nation. Knight-Class skills are significantly better than Soldier-Class skills, being able to provide higher quality, and bigger attribute buffs in considerable margins. Where skills start to become more abstract, however, is in the King-Class. King-Class skills are known for having the ability to bend rules or give access to abstract abilities. Our Kingdom's Archmage, Relampago, possesses the King-Class skill Greater Magic, which allows him to essentially cast spells without a predetermined mana limit. This allows him to cast a fireball as big as an Ultimate Hell Blaze Incineration Mortar at a fraction of its original mana cost, but a serious deduction of stability. Emperor-Class skills have only ever been recorded within Otherworlders, however. Currently, no one in this kingdom has any, and not many Otherworlders summoned to this kingdom or the others have had many recorded Emperor-Class skills."
Wait, there's other kingdoms summoning more heroes?
