"Please help me!" The girl, with indescribable angelic charm, called for Ana's help.
And as soon as she did, the two men looked at Ana, and Ana returned their gaze, each party now staring into each other's soul.
"So, are we going to fight him?"
"Depends on whether he's her boyfriend."
The men talked among themselves before deciding to ask Ana.
"Hey, you."
"Are you her boyfriend?"
Ana simultaneously assessed the men's strength and his chances of winning against them, while also checking if there was someone else around, for the last thing he needed was to get hit in the head from behind.
[Hunter Swordsman: Yuri (Rank C)]
[Hunter Mage: Dimitri (Rank B)]
But his experienced thug-life assessment quickly ended when he saw their ranks being displayed on his screen.
"Come here." He, nevertheless, ignored their question and spoke to that girl like she was actually his girlfriend.
Ana knew his chances at victory were slim, but he couldn't ever beg such lackeys, his pride too great for it, and also since he believed being weak even once would make it a bad habit of being weak all the time.
"..." The girl, however, did not come, instead of which, she murmured. "I'm scared…"
"Hey, I think she's scared of you." The guy called Yuri jokingly mocked Ana.
"Yeah, you should go away." And so did the second guy, as they both told Ana to mind his own business.
Ana sighed in frustration, and then put a hand on his head and scratched his non-itchy scalp, "Let her go and just leave."
The men looked at each other, smiling a little knowing that this was definitely going to happen, before they gave their answer.
"We're not leaving. Why don't you leave instead?" Yuri took out his enchanted sword and pointed it at Ana.
"Yeah, just leave already, we're busy." Dimitri, on the other hand, focused on that girl again.
Now Ana couldn't throw his F-ranked hands here or he already would have, so he had to rely on his sword too, which was a gun actually.
"Isn't there something we can do to work this out?" Ana put his hand inside his jacket and tried to take out his gun from his inventory.
[Redeemer's Gun]
The gun manifested itself in Ana's hidden hand, out of thin air, when the second guy called Dimitri, who was again approaching that helpless girl, said something that he just shouldn't have.
"Ey, just forget him, I don't sense any strong mana from him and he's too scared to even come near us." Dimitri rubbed his hand and set his eyes on his feast. "Or just find where his mother lives if you kill him."
Yuri laughed in return, "Yeah you're right, just how slutty is his mother to give birth to someone stupid like him?"
It was stupid to fight two against one but Ana's mana couldn't be sensed, not because he was weak though, but because his female body was naturally very adept at hiding it and more experienced people, like Eva had assumed earlier, would consider the possibility of enchanted artifacts or stealth skills useful for hiding, afterall, everybody needed a trump card to survive.
"What did you just say to me?" Ana's eyes, however, didn't know this and he couldn't digest the accurate insult that had hit too deep, but even then, his pride being trampled was not what triggered Ana the most.
"Hahaha." Yuri leisurely walked towards Ana. "Wow, look Dimitri, he's so angry that he isn't even moving."
Yuri took his sharp sword and with a speed that Ana couldn't even catch, closed the distance and cut a horizontal light wound on Ana's chest, taunting him further.
"What. Did you. Just. Say to me?" But Ana didn't even flinch and only repeated his question, putting much more emphasis in his words this time.
Yuri, in response, tiptoed a little to match Ana's height and looked him dead in the eye.
"Kyaah." While Yuri was engaging Ana, the girl behind screamed when Dimitri grabbed her hand.
"We called you a weak sheep hunter. What are you going to do about it?" Dimitri, not even looking towards Ana, ended his conversation with him, thinking his overtime job today had given him a nice little date to spend the night with.
"That's right. Walk away." Yuri disliked the look in Ana's eyes. "Go back to your home, or we'll go and take your whore mothe-"
Bang bang bang
Ana shot Yuri with the gun he was holding in his hand which was still inside his jacket's pocket, and killed him with just three bullets, divine bullets far more powerful and faster than what a B rank hunter could defend against at point blank range, and let Yuri's body get blown away before taking out his gun and shooting the other guy in the back.
Bang bang bang
Dimitri, who had been too distracted to notice Ana's aggression, also couldn't react in time, and his body slammed forward into the wall due to the bullet's heavy momentum, narrowly missing a collision with the young girl he was about to attack.
Ana then walked up to him slowly, ignoring Yuri's fallen body on the side, and looked at Dimitri, far too cold to feel any sympathy for people who had insulted his only family, his only loving and deceased mother.
"Wait." Dimitri held the wall and tried to stop himself from collapsing when he felt the nozzle of a gun touching the back of his head, "Wait, agh-"
Hot stinging pain gradually covered his body giving him a sudden fear of death, making him beg for salvation. "Wait, wait-"
"You were dead to me the moment you insulted my mother." Ana's judgement fell on his criminal ears.
Bang Bang Bang
Ana shot three times again, even though he didn't have to, destroying Dimitri's skull and changing it to a gory mess of disgust.
Bang Bang Bang
He didn't resort to extreme violence easily, but he will never hold back if somebody even slightly badmouths the one who gave birth to him, the one who gave him his name with care and kindness.
Bang Bang Bang
And so he kept shooting Dimitri's dead body multiple times.
"I think he's dead." The white haired girl was standing next to Ana now, she had finally come to him.
Ana looked at her pale white face that had been painted crimson with Dimitri's blood, a perfect symmetry of exceptional looks, and as if she could feel his gaze, that girl looked back at Ana too, with her unreal dancing eyebrows, twitching her small and cute nose as she breathed, and blinking gently with her wondrous white eyelashes.
Ana felt an urge he couldn't explain, a desire to touch her, a feeling he didn't understand as if he'd forgotten how to, long, long back.
Putting his gun back inside his inventory, he was about to offer the girl a hand, just for reassurance, when suddenly she swatted his hand away and looked at him with disgust.
"Don't touch me!"
Ana withdrew his offered hand, not feeling any specific emotion or pain at having his hand hit by a girl much shorter than him, and decided to just talk to her, when again, the girl did something unexpected.
"This time, I'll forgive you." She walked past Ana, an angelic smile on her face, otherworldly lips that whispered like an autumn breeze, which came with warm emotions and left with lonely coldness.
Ana stood motionless, feeling his heart with his killer hand, that had begun hurting when the beauty's eyes ignored Ana's existence, her fluttering white scented hair making Ana recall distant memories, slowing down time for him, and leaving him with questions, as a part he had left behind in the other world slowly began to fill his mind with sorrow and despair.
"Wait!" Ana swiftly turned around to her. "Who are you?"
But the girl didn't answer him and only walked ahead, leaving the alley before disappearing in the darkness of the night like a fairy tale..
