Chereads / Reincarnated but with fox ears and a tail / Chapter 2 - REINCARNATION!?!

Chapter 2 - REINCARNATION!?!

Suddenly, Akari regained consciousness. She quickly opened her eyes in surprise, Thinking, 'What the heck is happening? Aren't I supposed to be dead right now?'

As Akari attempted to survey her surroundings, she noticed, 'WAIT, WHY AM I BEING HELD BY A GIANT?!' Akira yelled. But instead, all she could hear was the sound of a baby crying.

Confused, she quickly thought of a reason why: 'Could it be that I am the baby crying?!'

Akari now fully started to panic, but before she could yell anymore, she heard a strange sound: '¿ʇɥdíɹlá ǝq ot guíoƃ ʎɥáp ᴉɯ sɾ?'

Her attention quickly diverted to the source of the strange noise. The source of the noise was the giant that held her, but she discovered that the giant was a beautiful woman with silky white hair that cascaded down to her shoulders and bright ruby eyes.

However, what truly caught Akari off guard was the pair of fox ears perched atop the woman's head.

'WHAT?? WHY DO YOU HAVE FOX EARS!?!?!' Akair exclaimed as this was her second major surprise of the day. But again, she was met by the sound of a baby crying.

'What the heck is happening right now?' Akair pondered, her confusion deepening as she recollected her thoughts from before her death. She quickly reached a realization.

Akira continued to stare at the woman with fox ears in disbelief. The realization slowly dawned on her, This isn't her previous life anymore.

'No way... Did I get reincarnated??' Akair thought to herself.

She shifted her gaze around, trying to make sense of her surroundings. She was inside a very medieval-looking room that had a massive bed and a small baby crib in the corner of the room.

The woman holding her gently shushed the baby's cries emanating from Akira's mouth. Akira couldn't help but marvel at the surreal scene—this beautiful woman with fox ears cradling her like a newborn.

She looked down at herself, inspecting her body, and realizing she now had a tail quickly trying to see if she also had ears.

'NOOOOOOOOO!!!' Once again, for the third time, the sound of a baby crying could be heard.

-Time Skip 1 year -

'My name in this world is 'Akari Saki.'

In the one year that followed, Akira gradually adapted to her new life in this world. The process was not without its challenges, but her resilience proved paramount in overcoming the initial hurdles.

By the tender age of five months, she defied expectations by taking her first steps, marking a significant leap in her physical abilities.

She wasn't able to leave the house that she was in of the age of text she started to adventure around the house and found a library it wasn't big it only had 5 shelves worth of books but due to this, she was able to find out some key concepts of this world.

Like the world's, customs, and the unique individuals that populated it. She marveled at the vibrant landscapes, diverse cultures, and the magical beings that coexisted harmoniously.

However, the preceding months of immobility were not without their struggles, and the contrast only heightened Akira's appreciation for the newfound freedom that the movement bestowed upon her.

The beautiful woman with fox ears, whose name was Lyra Saki, played a pivotal role in Akira's life. As time unfolded, it was revealed that Lyra Saki was none other than Akira's mother.

However, Akira's blissful existence was occasionally overshadowed by the enigma of her absent father.

She had never laid eyes on him since her birth, and whenever she broached the subject with Lyra Saki, a solemn veil of silence descended upon her mother.

Pov, Akari Saki -

In the library, a charming scene unfolded as a delightful child immersed herself in a book. She possessed beautiful, light milky brown eyes and wavy white hair that delicately framed the space where her ear would typically be.

However, what truly captured attention were the pair of fox ears adorning the top of her head and the fox tail, which trailed just a few inches short of matching the length of her leg. This unbelievably cute girl is none other than Akari Soki.

"Damnit, I can't believe it took me one year to finally learn the language in this world," Akari said in annoyance.

Currently, Akari is sitting on a chair in the library reading a few books; she has adapted nicely to the new world that was placed upon her.

"I thought I could have learned the language of this world easily in 8 months. Sigh It can't be helped," Akari said.

"AKIRA SAKI! Dinner is ready." Lyra Saki yelled for her to come.

"Yes, I'm coming Mom," Akari said in response as she went to put back the book she was reading.

Then suddenly a book fell; Akari was only just able to get out of the way of the book. BAM! The book spams onto the floor.

"*Phew, that was close; I almost got hit in the head by this book," Akari said as she started to inspect the book that almost fell onto her.

"That's weird; I've never seen the book here before," Akari said in confusion and curiosity.

'[Beginner Guide On Elementary Spirits]' Akari's eyebrows started to rise curiously even more as she started to read the title of the book.

"AKIRA!!! WHERE ARE YOU? COME EAT DINNER," Lyra yelled in annoyance.

"Yes, Mom, I'm on my way," Akari replied to her mother, not forgetting to put back the book that fell while also taking note of where she put it, planning to read the book after she finishes eating dinner with her mother.

Akari quickly but carefully made her way downstairs towards the table.

As Akari reached the dining room, she sat next to her mother.

"OH, there you are. I was getting worried that something happened to you," Lyra said while giving Akari a quick peck on her forehead.

Akari puffed out her cheeks and said in a whiny tone, "Mom, how many times have I told you not to do that."

Lyra smirked and said in a teasing tone, "It can't be helped; you're just so cute," as she proceeded to give her several more forehead pecks to Akari's displeasure.

"Okay, honey, it's time for you to eat dinner today. I hope you like it; I prepared it with all the love and care I can, as usual," Lyra said while giving Akira her food.

Dinner was finished in a flash as Lyra and Akari devoured all the meat and vegetables available.

It was a surprise at first to see that she was able to eat so much in one sitting; she wasn't even able to eat so much in her previous life. Akira thought it was due to her and her mother both being beast kin.

Beast Kin is a unique race in the world Akari was reborn in. They are closely tied to nature and possess traits akin to various animals. They exhibit incredible strength, heightened senses, and a deep affinity for the natural world. Yet, their appearances vary, often blending humanoid features with distinct animalistic attributes.

The beast kin is subdivided into even more factions depending on which beast they resemble; Akari Saki and Lyra Saki are from the Fox Kin Faction.

After eating dinner, Akira quickly said goodbye to her mother as she made her way back towards the library to find out what that book was about.

When Akira entered the library, she quickly ran towards the bookshelf where she placed the mysterious book.

"Okay, what is this book even about? I never expected there would be something called elemental spirits in this world!" Akari thought excitedly.

She quickly took the book from the shelf and found a spot to sit and read.

{Elemental spirits are ethereal entities intricately bound to one's soul and body from birth, an intrinsic connection shared by humans, elves, dwarfs, and Beast Kin alike. Every individual possesses one.

Originating from the ambient energy in the air, these spirits start their formation during the second month of pregnancy. An organ nestled beneath the heart, known as the 'Essentia Core,' plays a pivotal role in this intricate process.

Its function is to gather the surrounding energy enveloping the body and seamlessly distribute it throughout the body via the pre-existing cardiovascular system.

These Elemental spirits, each representing a distinct element, find their essence interwoven with the very fabric of nature. For instance, fire, water, earth, and air manifest as the primary elemental affinities.

While the Elemental spirit predominantly resides within the Essentia Core throughout its lifespan, it possesses the ability to wander through the body and occasionally depart, guided by the user's assistance.

The size of the organ directly correlates with the Elemental spirit's size, evolution, and maturity. This evolution is a response to the near-extinction of a race eons ago, a consequence of magical beasts. Humans, elves, dwarfs, and Beast Kin are descendants of that ancient lineage.

Awakening one's elemental spirit occurs naturally through meditation, an intentional effort to sense and draw magical energy from the surroundings into the body, fostering the maturation of the elemental spirit until it awakens.

Alternatively, a more commonplace and artificial method involves allowing someone who has already awakened their elemental spirit to transfer energy from their organ to others.

The mastery of these elemental abilities is categorized into ten distinct ranks:

Neophyte Essentia Channeler: Individuals with the smallest Essentia Cores, approximately one centimeter, indicating the initial stages of awakening.

Apprentice Essentia Channeler: Those with a modestly sized Essentia Core, approximately two centimeters, progressing beyond initiation and honing their elemental skills.

Adept Essentia Channeler: Individuals with a small Essentia Core, approximately three centimeters, representing a solid foundation in elemental mastery.

Journeyman Essentia Channeler: Those with an average-sized Essentia Core, approximately four centimeters, are on a journey toward greater mastery.

Master Essentia Channeler: Individuals with a moderately sized Essentia Core, approximately five centimeters, achieve a higher level of mastery.

Grandmaster Essentia Channeler: Those with a larger-than-average Essentia Core, approximately six centimeters, esteemed for advanced control and potency.

Arch Essentia Channeler: Possessors of a substantial Essentia Core, approximately eight centimeters, recognized for exceptional skill and influence.

Prime Essentia Channeler: Individuals with a huge Essentia Core, approximately ten centimeters, standing among the most powerful.

Apex Essentia Channeler: The rare few with an exceptionally large Essentia Core, approximately fifteen centimeters, standing at the pinnacle of elemental mastery.

Ethereal Essentia Channeler: At the zenith of elemental mastery, approximately 20, those with the largest Essentia Cores attain mythical status, embodying the epitome of control and wisdom in elemental manipulation."}

Akari's eyes spark after she read the book: "Is this real?!? I can't believe this..."

After a few moments of Akari sitting and trying to process what she just read, Akira finally came back to her senses.

"I WANT TO AWAKE MY ELEMENTAL SPIRIT RIGHT NOW!!!!" Akari yelled in excitement but before she could even start a wisp of tiredness entered her mind as she changed her mind.

"Alright, I've decided; I'm going to awaken my elemental spirit tomorrow," Akari excitedly thought as she closed the book and put it back on the bookshelf.

Akari quickly made her way towards her room and went to sleep.
