In the breathtakingly beautiful small village of where the Cera Witch clan resides far off from the city houses had smoke coming from their chimneys.
It was early morning. The trees surrounding the village were all so green and beautiful giving off a mythical look.
At the end of the village, inside a well built cottage with climbing flowers and greenery a woman's voice could be heard giving off instructions.
"Alysia it's still early morning please cook the porridge and stop looking forward to going outside today. You will not be going out today as we will be having guests later." The woman had a crisp clear voice with the intention for her message to be passed clearly.
The woman was Alysia's mother. Mother to one of the most outstanding witches, but she'd rather her daughter wasn't as outstanding.
Alysia in her father's words had an adventurous spirit. She was not one to he held down by society norms or restrictions. She was a free spirit which was something that a powerful witch like her shouldn't have as the powerful the witch the more the responsibility one had towards the clan.
With her talent the elders in the clan had high hopes and plans for her, even her marriage was to arranged for her by the clan elders as she could only match with someone as powerful as herself if not even more powerful. Since she was that powerful somethings in her life also had to be dictated by the clan elders. Something Alysia has always frowned upon if not hate.
Her mother knew her spirited soul of adventure was also because she used that as her way to run from the constrictions, to be herself.
If it were up to her mother then she would have very much liked if her daughter would just have the normal kind of power, so she could live her life just as she wanted it. As a free spirit, because as a mother all she could ever want for her child was for her to be happy. The power and the fame came second to her child's happiness.
Alysia grunted to her mothers words like she had always done whenever her mother would aske her to stay put only for her to leave anyways.
" I am telling you Alysia the guests coming this time are very important..." Alysia's mother was not done nagging yet.
"Yes. Yes I know the mighty king may wake up anytime now and its not safe to go out." Alysia cut her mother short on her sentence knowing exactly what she was going to say next from how many times she has had to listen to that sentence from her mom every time she was going out into the woods at the back mountain.
" I know mom, you tell me everyday I want to go out and don't I always just come back without a single scratch, you should stop worrying too much I can protect myself."
Alysia's mother looked defeated and gave in, " Just make sure you are careful not go deep into the dark forest. Do not go past the marked territory. Now that it is said that the sleep curse has weakened you don't know what you might awaken if not careful just be extra careful because I have been getting really bad almost nightmare picture flashes."
Alysia knew her moms gift was all about prophesies and though she used to warn her against playing at the back mountain this was the first time she was that serious and looked afraid so Alysia knew she had to listen to her mothers words.
After quickly having her breakfast Alysia bid her mother goodbye and took off with her leaf made sling bag. The morning sunlight was a beautiful sight. The sun reflected its light on the trees and they shone with a beautiful lustre. Alysia skipped away with a few hellos to her neighbours as she made her way inside the forest. Everyone she came across reminded her to be careful after greeting her politely as she was their clans future heir.
It was a relief that her home was at the end of the village. Alysia would have dreaded to have the whole village remind her to be careful every time she went out if her home was at the entrance of the village. They all treated her like some sort of princess with no power at all. She was the most powerful of them even at her age and yet instead of trusting that she would be able to protect herself they always wanted to protect her. She always wanted to away from the village as they made her feel useless. Everything had to be for her because they feared something would happen to her if she does it herself.
Alysia reached an open area just before the marked area and placed her bag down. Taking out her wand she started to practice her magic. She was dancing with the wand she was together with the magic intertwined as one. She was the magic and the magic was her. With her eyes closed Alysia waved her wand in different directions while she jumped up high accompanied by her magic to support her gravity pull.
Unbeknownst to her she had ended up. Leaving the safe zone and had her feet inside the marked zone. Alysia kept on practicing her magic until she felt that her exercise for the day was over. She was always bored anyways especially since the school closed for the End term break. She had no one to practice real fighting with so she could only stretch her magic until school reopened.
When she felt that she had had enough for the day. Alysia opened her eyes only to find herself in an unfamiliar surrounding. Everything was so dark around her. Very very dark if not for the fact that her magic allowed her to see in the dark then she would have had a way of knowing where she was.
The place was eerily quiet and it felt as if something was lurking in the dark waiting to pounce on her anytime she had her guard down. Alysia could not shake off the bad feeling at the pit of her stomach. The place was also abnormally chilly to the extent that her skin was all covered in goose bumps even when she had the power to fend off the cold from her body. If a normal witch would have walked in then the person would have surely been a goner.
Alysia tried looking around to try and find out where she was. She had never had of any casualties before and from the looks of her surroundings if there was some such a dangerous place in the village back mountain forest then her mother would have warned her of it countless times as she had always done with the marked zone where the devil laid in sleep.
Alysia's eyed widened considerably as the realisation hit her. She had never meant to go against her mother. Who would tell her how she had gotten herself inside the marked zone when she had played by the back mountain for years and had never crossed the marked area. Remembering her mothers words that morning brought a shiver down Alysia's spine.
Her bag was not with her, she had left it under the where she was practicing her wand skills at and the only communication device she had was right inside her bag. Alysia tried feeling for her tracker but she also unfortunately realised that she had left it at home to stop her elder brother from coming after her and interrupting her practice like he had done multiple times in the past.
She had really done it for herself this time. Now there wasn't anything she could use to get through to her parents. She was really going to be in a whole lot of problem and no one was not going to believe she had just accidentally gotten herself into the marked area as she had practiced there countless times with her eyes closed with nothing happening.
Looking around her in utter hopelessness Alysia tried finding her way out. Thinking about her steps , Alysia tried retracing her footsteps and she ended up back to where she was. It was like she was in a maze. Every time she retraced her footsteps she would always find herself end up back to where she had started. She was sure of her memory so there could be nothing wrong in the direction she was taking the only possible explanation was that the place had something weird going on. The fact that it was the place that King Aragos was put to a curse sleep it explained a lot why the place looked eerie.
Alysia was soon attracted by something as she looked around trying to find a possible solution to the problem of her being able to get herself out of the marked area in one piece. There was a blinking blue light like twenty steps away from her. Alysia knew that she could not get close to it as it might be a trap but curiosity got the best of her.
Her mothers words from that morning echoed in her mind as she took the first step towards the light and she stopped to reconsider but not for long, as the light started blinking. It wasn't that she did not heed her mothers words but since she was already there and there was no way out Alysia figured she could at least try and find out about the kind of place she was now stranded in. If there would be danger it would also mean that she could earn herself a chance at survival by defeating it.
Well she was excited alright..deep within her heart she knew she had always been excited to one day be in a real battle case scenario to practice her power and see for herself that she was really the most powerful nit just by the test she took when she was an infant. This was also a chance to practice and smoothen out her edges, at least she thought.
Alysia followed the blue light as it kept blinking lighter and lighter. As she got fifteen steps closer she found out the light wasn't getting lighter because it was fading but because it kept on getting further and further. At this rate Alysia was sure it was some sort of trap or calling. She wished her options to either keep on following or stop but ultimately her curiosity won and knowingly she slowly walked into a trap.
Despite her mothers warning replaying over and over again in her head she still ventured deeper and deeper into the dark marked zone as she followed the light, driven by her insatiable curiosity about unlocking her full potential as a witch.
As she delves deeper into the dark, hidden forest she stumbles upon a hidden clearing where she encounters a Tomb of the legendary being, King Aragos.
The blue light blinked and disappeared when it reached the entrance of the Tomb. The place was unlike all the dark abyss around her. It was surrounded by colourful flowers all around and looked like a cave on the outside calling to the person outside because of how beautiful it was. There was a refreshing air in the surroundings of the caves with some ruins engraved outside of the cave. The ruins were written in an old language that she wished she had read when she decided to drop the ancient languages subject. Now she could barely read an alphabet let a lone a word of the ancient language carved on the cave entrance.
She so much regretted dropping that subject at that particular moment and just like that she unknowingly made her way into the Tomb of the king of Aragos just because she did not understand what was written on the cave but would soon find out albeit too late.
Alysia was in awe of the cave as she made it inside. The pathways was engraved in shiny stones she had never seen before but looked like they could fetch a considerable amount of money if mined and sold outside. The stoned shone so ever lightly with a blink every time she stepped on them. She made her way inside while taking in all the beautiful view.
