Chapter 26 - Discharged 1

Aaliyah sighed. Things were going from bad to worse. Her father was still on the lookout for her and the handsome stranger was getting more involved than he was supposed to. What if her father did something to him? She couldn't bear that guilt.

But she couldn't deny his help either. She desperately needed help. And, oh, how could she forget about her name that had been thrown in the mud and been trampled on?

Sighing, she picked up her phone which was beside her and unlocked it. Taking a deep breath, she looked for her name on the web, or rather, the news about her being a fraud.

But, surprisingly, the news that had been blown out of proportion was nowhere to be seen. " What?" Aaliyah was utterly shocked. How did this happen?

Just then, a nurse came in a long with Avery who closed the door. The nurse began removing Aaliyah's already empty IV drip and gave her some clothes that were not hospital gowns.

" Your discharge papers are done ma'am. You are free to leave" the nurse said. Aaliyah nodded and the nurse excused herself. Looking at Avery, she said, " I'll just go and change".

Aaliyah slid into the restroom and a couple of minutes later, she came out all dressed. She noticed the clothes were brand new as she hadn't seen or worn this before. She looked at Avery and was about to ask when Avery said, " We will be going somewhere".

Though confused, Aaliyah nodded as Avery ordered the guards outside to get her bags. They got into a black Chevrolet and sped off.

.....

After about 30 minutes, they arrived at a building which Aaliyah instantly recognized. It was the HQ of the famous tech company, EVOTECH.

Looking at Avery, she asked, " What are we doing here?" Avery just smiled and said, " You'll see".

Avery led her inside and Aaliyah would be lying if she said she wasn't amazed at the size and structure of the place. Everything looked surreal with the white tiled walls and white furniture with different screens displaying their products.

Aaliyah soon got uncomfortable as the workers began giving her weird and disgusting looks. It looked like the news had disappeared but that didn't stop people from sharing it and gossiping about her. Ashamed, she bowed her head.

Avery noticed this and led Aaliyah into a private elevator hidden away from prying eyes. She followed but not before whispering, " Get the names of the workers who were gossiping and report them to the president " to the guard near her.

When they got out of the elevator, Aaliyah was met with a white empty hallway. Avery led her to some double doors before she knocked on them.

Aaliyah was shocked as she heard a familiar masculine voice say, " Come in" from behind them. Avery pushed open the doors and gestured for Aaliyah to go in.

After thanking Avery, Aaliyah went in with her shaky and sweaty hands and feet. The office was huge and the black furniture that complemented the white wall and amazing decor.

Aaliyah saw a door at the side that was a little bit hidden. She wondered what was behind it that it was so hidden. She had been so distracted that she hadn't noticed the set it navy blue eyes that had been staring at her.

" How do you like the decor?"
