Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

The duel between the two grand magicians finally came to an end. They approached with dark circles under their eyes, faces swollen like pig heads.

Yulis said, "Kid, we've decided. We'll both take you as our student, teaching you magic. It's a bargain for you. Come and greet your teachers."

I glanced at Livia, deliberately teasing, "I have no problem being Linca's student, but if you want me as your student, you'll have to let Livia teach me basic magic first."

Hehehe, I knew he couldn't bear to lose such an outstanding student like me. He would surely give in.

Sure enough, Yulis hesitated for a moment and said, "Fine, I agree."

Feeling triumphant, I suddenly sensed an icy aura behind me, accompanied by Livia's chilling voice, "Rascal, go to hell."

I turned around to witness a growing fist heading fiercely towards my head.

And so, for the fourth time since arriving in the Sacred Demon Continent, I fainted.

Under the pressure from my father, Livia started teaching me magic. She was a magic swordsman with exceptional talent, reaching the level of an intermediate mage. However, with unlimited magical power as my support, learning even the most profound magic was as easy as learning martial arts with abundant internal energy. Despite the pressure, I couldn't help but resent my excessively strong magical power.

Elemental magic manipulated the magical elements of earth, water, wind, fire, and lightning, while summoning magic involved forming contracts with magical beasts to make them loyal servants.

One day, practicing the "Levitation Spell," I was soaring freely in the sky. The wooden houses on the ground had been rebuilt like beetles, "the wooden houses I burned down have been rebuilt." Suddenly, I saw a large mass of flames soaring in the high sky on a distant mountain top.

Curious, I transformed the "Levitation Spell" into "Flight Spell," speeding towards it. Unintentionally, I passed through Yulis's enchantment, "due to the excess magical power, I can easily traverse any enchantment," accelerating tenfold. Unaccustomed to the increased speed, I nearly collided with a mountain, cursing the damn enchantment.

Soon, I adapted to the situation outside the enchantment, flying rapidly towards the distant flames.

It wasn't a mere flame; it was a magnificent red bird engulfed in blazing flames.

"A Fire Phoenix," I immediately recognized it as the strongest fire-type magical beast, the Fire Phoenix, as described by Linca. I was overjoyed.

Despite mastering advanced summoning magic, I hadn't summoned a magical beast yet. Watching Linca command his summoned beasts to do various tasks, "even though they were spiders and frogs, quite disgusting," I naturally envied him. Now, encountering the legendary "Fire Phoenix," I couldn't let this opportunity slip away.

To make a magical beast a summoned beast, I needed to defeat it first. Then, using my blood, I would draw the contract symbol on the magical beast's body to complete the process.

Gazing at the beautifully soaring Fire Phoenix, I concentrated my magical power, preparing to strike first.

However, my clever plan didn't go as expected. Perhaps because my magical aura was too strong, the Fire Phoenix sensed my presence and emitted a clear, melodious cry, rushing towards me with a surging blaze.

Being an experienced warrior, I forced myself to calm down. With a thought, I cast a "Fireball" with a wave of my hand.

Without the enchantment's constraints, the diameter of this "Fireball" was over ten meters, extremely formidable. It accurately hit the Fire Phoenix.

Just as I felt a moment of joy, I saw the Fire Phoenix break free from the flames, its body now even more ablaze.

I cursed myself; the Fire Phoenix was a fire-type magical beast, and using fire magic only strengthened it.

But I couldn't blame myself entirely. My magical power was too strong, and my two stubborn mentors were so eager for me to learn the most advanced magic that they forgot to teach me the most basic magical knowledge.

The little knowledge I had was from Livia.

Seeing the Fire Phoenix charging towards me, evasion was impossible. Thinking quickly, I softly chanted, "Frozen Prison of Ice and Snow."

Instantly, my body was encased in thick blocks of ice. Shortly afterward, the Fire Phoenix reached me, its blazing flames engulfing the large ice block.

"Frozen Prison of Ice and Snow" was originally a water-type spell used to freeze opponents. Now, I reversed it, freezing myself in a thick ice armor that perfectly withstood the Fire Phoenix's attack.

Ha, I was indeed clever.

The ice armor gradually melted in the fiery surroundings. In the moment before complete dissolution, I cast an advanced wind magic, "Instant Teleportation." In a flash, I appeared a hundred meters away, surrounded by flames.

Though I avoided injury, staying in the ice block was uncomfortable. I shivered continuously, "even though I brought this upon myself."

I roared, "Stupid bird, daring to treat this young master like this, die!"

I waved my hand, sending dozens of "Ice Arrows" shooting towards the Fire Phoenix like a torrential rain.

The Fire Phoenix flapped its wings, creating a fierce flame to counter the "Ice Arrows."

Taking advantage of the distracted bird dealing with the ice arrows, I formed hand seals, concentrating my magical power, and declared, "Extreme Zero Freezing Wave."

This was an advanced water magic, the strongest among the water spells taught by Yulis. The downside was the lengthy incantation, "the stronger the magic, the longer the incantation." Fortunately, I didn't need to do that, or else there wouldn't be time to use it.

My body was enveloped in a light blue glow that grew stronger and larger.

Feeling the imminent danger, the Fire Phoenix, now facing me, attempted to flee, but it was too late.

A massive, pure-white ice river, several dozen meters wide, surged out from me and instantly swallowed the Fire Phoenix. The area within a hundred meters became an icy world.
