On the caravan
"How long until we get there?" - Darvic looks around
"We will get there in this afternoon" - Mawra flips her book
"..." - Polwil polishes his boot
Tiary cleans her mace.
All of them are waiting. For the ride to reach the town.
The caravan group keeps moving, wheel spins and wind blows.
It is just an old road but yet silent. Devoid of living except the lives inside the carriages.
It happens.
"AMBUSH! READY FOR A FIGHT!"
Weapons on hand and eyes sharpened.
Arrows rain upon the adventurers. Mawra casts a wide barrier to protect all three caravans and other adventurers.
"COME OUT COWARDS! THESE BLADES THIRST FOR BLOOD" - Polwil points his sword upward.
"HA HA HA!" - ??? laughs maniacally - "Such bravery. We outnumber you. All valuable or death"
30 bandits come out of the bushes
While other adventurers are wary and get ready for close combat, a rock flies by.
It hit one of the bandits.
"30 dead bodies? What a great time to be" - Tiary smiles ominously.
"A white mage? Don't be such a cocky bitch" - ??? points his blade at her
Her mace flies to ???'s face, crushes his skull to mush
"Who wants to meet god next?" - Tiary clenches her fists.
One of the bandits tries to lift the mace, it is not budging. Tiary already apprehends two bandits whilst others are trying their best for their survival.
Blades clash, blood spills and bones snaps.
After the dust settles, what left of the bandits are just their disfigured corpses. Tiary cleanses herself, Darvic and Polwil guide the others to make haste graves to pay respect for the dead one, Mawra just drinks a mana potion and frowns. There are two adventurers who died because of their carelessness.
It is no surprise to see people die when you are adventurers. But still it is a reminder how one should be careful about their actions.
"That guy's face is gone." - Mawra pops another mana potion
"None of the bandits has any recognizable features beside the face. Now all of them are in ruin thanks to the usage of brute force" - Darvic cleans his shield
"These kinds of bandits are low profiles and not of significant so we can rest assure that we will not miss a big bounty" - Polwil inspects his sword
The caravan group moves on. At dusk, they see the town. It is getting closer to them.
The Black Sheep has arrived. They first rent 4 rooms in an inn. Then they set out to get a decent meal after such harsh and undeniably bland road meals.
At the tavern.
"Finally, some warmth of the bread and soup" - Darvic wolves down his part
"Such savage. Learn some manners" - Mawra bites on her bread
"Please please, don't fight over" - Tiary tries to keep her smile
"The most important thing to do next is to prepare what to discuss with her highness" - Polwil digs his soup
As the party has their moment.
"Say, white mage, would you like to join us?" - A warrior shows his scarred hand.
He is accompanied by his other 3 members.
"For what?" - Tiary flusters
"Brawling. I heard that there is a white mage that is using the same mace in the rumors going around. All we know that she has a mace, quite petite like you and can take on even a monk and a thief combined force" - The warrior smiles
"I don't think that is a good idea" - Mawra continues her meal
"So what? It is just a brawl. To show off strength, unlike you midget." - A berserker goes along with the fighter smirks
Mawra casts a barrier around the berserker's neck
"Try to rip that barrier around your neck first. I am not going to choke you. I am just going to make sure that before your filthy tongue even moves, you have to think twice before taunting your opponent" - Mawra focuses on her meal
The berserker tries to rip the barrier. It is not being broken. As if the density is the same as a steel bar.
"Give up? I can maintain for as long as I want to" - Mawra signals for a mug of beer
His friends help him too but the barrier will not falter.
"Mawra, I think that you are going a bit too far" - Polwil glances in concern
"I am not killing him physically. I am killing his overconfident" - She sips on her beer
"But still, this is getting more and more wrong. We are getting looked" - Darvic finishes his meal
"Hey, you four. I will dispel it now. So stop trying." - Mawra chugs her beer - "You should take back on saying me a midget."
The barrier is dispelled. The four bow down to the mage apologetically and move out.
