Chapter 69 - Su Changsheng

When the black dragon appeared, the relevant departments in Linzhou immediately reported the incident to the senior officials of Xia State. In the past, when the second space rift in Xia had opened, a dark green dragon emerged, causing catastrophic damage. Despite the combined efforts of the country's most powerful warriors, who sustained heavy casualties, they only managed to force the dragon back into the rift. The event was concealed to prevent widespread panic.

Mr. Wei, who had inside knowledge of the incident, shared the story with the group. Upon hearing this, Mr. Qiao's face turned grim. "It seems Laizhou is truly doomed. This might be our final resting place."

Lin Zixuan and Jiang Wan felt an increasing sense of suffocation under the black dragon's oppressive aura. They gazed up at the sky in despair, questioning if this was truly the end.

The academy fell into a deathly silence. Tang Yuxin longed to move, hoping to die in Horn's arms, but her legs felt like lead. Wang Menglu, having accepted their fate, closed her eyes, awaiting the inevitable.

The black dragon flicked its tail, causing space to collapse around it. A flash of blue light suddenly streaked through the air, catching the dragon's attention. Its focus was on Horn, and it could hear his words clearly: "Damn ants! How dare you act so arrogantly before me? I will turn this city into a living hell!"

The dragon roared in fury as the blue sword approached. Initially filled with arrogance, the dragon panicked as the sword drew near. It realized too late that this was no ordinary weapon—it was imbued with a world-destroying force. The dragon's body froze in terror. Who could possess such power in this lower world?

Before it could beg for mercy, the blue sword effortlessly pierced the black dragon's head, shattering its brain in an instant.

Tang Yuxin, eyes wide with disbelief, called out, "Menglu, look!" Wang Menglu, who had resigned herself to death, opened her eyes and saw the sword lodged in the dragon's head. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Who in Linzhou could slay a dragon with a single strike?

Lin Zixuan and Jiang Wan, equally stunned, exchanged glances, finally allowing themselves a moment of relief.

Back in the villa, Horn stood calmly, staring in the direction of the academy. "Turn to ashes!" he commanded. In response, a massive blue flame erupted from the sword, incinerating the black dragon instantly. This sword, named Fentian, harbored a flame that could burn anything in the world.

Mr. Qiao trembled as he witnessed the dragon's destruction. The power behind the sword, especially the blue flames, was terrifying. He was certain that mere contact with those flames would reduce him to ashes.

Mr. Wei, equally shaken, could hardly believe his eyes. This black dragon was as powerful as the dark green one that had once terrorized Xia. Yet, someone in Linzhou had killed it with a single sword strike. Who could have done this?

After a moment, Mr. Wei managed to compose himself. "Lin, we can't let our guard down. Aliens could emerge from the rift at any moment. We must be prepared."

Lin Zixuan nodded, but her attention was drawn to the sky. The blue sword that had killed the dragon was now sealing the space rift, its flames forming an impenetrable wall of fire. Horn, sensing the unusual nature of the rift, decided not to force it closed to avoid catastrophic consequences. Instead, he left the Fentian Sword in place to temporarily seal the rift.

Unaware of Horn's actions, Mr. Wei and the others stared in amazement at the sky. "The rift is sealed?" Lin Zixuan exclaimed in disbelief. Only the hilt of the sword remained visible, the rest of it plunged into the rift.

Mr. Wei, still in shock, said, "Whoever did this has unimaginable power. He might be the strongest person on Earth right now."

Lin Zixuan amplified her voice with spiritual energy, announcing, "The crisis in Linzhou has been temporarily resolved! But we must stay vigilant and be ready for anything!"

Her declaration echoed through the academy, prompting cheers from everyone.

Jiang Wan, noticing something special about the sword's aura, suggested, "If we get closer to the sword, it could help us understand the way of the sword better." But as she approached within a hundred meters of the Fentian Sword, she could go no further. Squinting, she saw three words engraved on the hilt: "Su Changsheng."

She relayed this to the others, who quickly joined her to see the name for themselves. Mr. Wei, Mr. Qiao, and Lin Zixuan all agreed: Su Changsheng must be the one who wielded the sword.

Su Changsheng was a name Horn had adopted in the Immortal World when he sought to leave his past behind and start anew. But names could be changed; the past, however, could not be erased. Eventually, Horn returned to Earth at any cost.

Mr. Wei took a deep breath and said, "From today, the name Su Changsheng will be known throughout the world!"
