Chapter 185 - Chapter [185]

Gremory Mansion - Zeoticus' Office

Sirzechs, Serafall, Ajuka, and Riser were gathered around the table, each with a serious expression. Sirzechs, with his imposing presence and piercing gaze, was leaning against the table, arms crossed. Serafall, usually cheerful, was visibly worried, nervously twirling a lock of hair. Ajuka maintained his usual calm and analytical posture, while Riser, newly appointed Maou, displayed a tranquil expression.

"Everyone knows that what happened in the underworld has spread to all mythologies," Sirzechs began, his grave voice echoing through the room. "This means we are in a very delicate moment."

"A civil war was the last thing I wanted," he said, sighing deeply. "But now there is no escape. We must act with wisdom and strength. Any mistake could be fatal."

"We need to know the opinion of our allies," Riser said, his voice firm. "If we are going to war, we need support, both military and diplomatic. What is the position of the other factions on this matter?"

"The angels and the fallen angels will not get directly involved," Ajuka said, keeping his gaze fixed on Sirzechs. "They prefer to observe the situation and intervene only if the stability between the factions is in danger. However, Loki's involvement has brought Norse mythology into the equation. They have offered to help us, but with one clear condition: we must return Loki to Odin."

Ajuka paused, letting his words sink in with the others. He then continued, "Having Norse mythology on our side is a significant strategic advantage. However, we need to ensure that we fulfill our part of the deal."

"It's very convenient that the Norse are willing to help us, as long as we return Loki," Riser said, with a slight sarcastic smile. "They know we can't afford to make more enemies now. We need all the help we can get, even if it comes with conditions."

Sirzechs, pondering Ajuka and Riser's words, stood up from the table and began pacing around the office, his boots echoing on the marble floor. He looked out the window, observing the Gremory mansion garden, before turning his attention back to the group.

"I don't like being in a position where we have to give in to demands," said Sirzechs, his voice filled with frustration. "But the reality is that we can't afford to fight on multiple fronts. The civil war is already a monumental challenge in itself."

"So we will return Loki," he decided, with a determined look. "We need to ensure that at least the Norse are on our side, even if only temporarily."

Serafall nodded, though reluctantly. "I will arrange for Loki's transfer to Odin. It's a necessary measure, even if we don't like it."

Ajuka gestured in agreement, while Riser maintained his calm and focused expression.

"Now, we need to address the families that have joined our enemies," said Riser, looking directly at Sirzechs.

Sirzechs sighed deeply, his frustration visible as he looked at the others.

He returned to the table, crossing his arms as he thought of the best approach to dealing with the traitorous families.

"What do you propose, Riser?" he said, his tone suggesting fatigue but also a search for practical solutions.

"We need to take decisive action," Riser began, his voice full of conviction. "Reduce the number of pillars in the underworld and distribute their treasures among our allies. This will not only weaken our enemies but also strengthen our alliances."

The atmosphere grew tense with Riser's bold suggestion, everyone pondering the implications.

Sirzechs was indignant, his expression hardening. "You want to destroy entire families and give away their riches as trophies? That's insane!"

Riser raised his voice as well, facing Sirzechs. "And what do you suggest we do with the traitors, Sirzechs? Let them keep conspiring against us while we try to maintain a morally upright stance? That won't work!"

Serafall intervened, raising her hands in a calming gesture. "Calm down, both of you. We're all on the same team here."

Sirzechs scoffed, incredulous. "I knew you'd make a terrible Maou, Riser. I always thought this position required more than just brute strength."

Ajuka, who had remained silent until then, finally spoke. "Riser is right, Sirzechs. We need to take drastic measures to ensure our survival. We're at war, and war demands sacrifices."

Sirzechs looked at Ajuka, astonished. "You're agreeing with him, Ajuka? Is this really what you believe is the best solution?"

"Yes, Sirzechs," Ajuka said. "If we had been ruthless in the past, we might not be facing this crisis now. We need to learn from our mistakes and act with determination."

Sirzechs was silent for a moment, recalling the last war that nearly destroyed the underworld. The memory of the sacrifices and losses was still painful.

"I understand your point, Ajuka," said Sirzechs, his voice calmer. "But the indiscriminate destruction of families can have consequences we cannot foresee. We need to find a balance."

"My father is also a traitor," said Ajuka, his words resonating through the office.

Sirzechs and Serafall were surprised, their eyes widening in shock.

"Ajuka," began Serafall, her voice full of concern. "Are you serious?"

"Yes, Serafall. And I plan to execute my father personally to show how much I value my ideals and my position as Maou. This is the only way to make it clear that we will not tolerate betrayal, no matter where it comes from."

Serafall, still in shock, shook her head. "Ajuka, you don't have to do this. There are other ways to handle this."

"I don't need to, but I must," said Ajuka, his voice firm. "War is no joke, and you know this, Serafall, having participated in the last one. And you, Riser, are young and know nothing of war, but you are a Maou, and this is the kind of thing a Maou must do."

Riser, remaining neutral, nodded. "I understand, Ajuka. Thank you for the guidance."

'Finally, the fun is about to begin,' Riser thought, a slight smile playing on his lips.

Sirzechs sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the decision. "I'm not happy about this," he said, his voice heavy with resignation. "But I agree with eliminating the traitorous families. Riser, this responsibility now falls on you."

Riser nodded, his expression serious. "I will handle it, Sirzechs. I will do what is necessary to protect the underworld."

Sirzechs looked at Riser, still with a somber but resigned expression. "I hope you understand the gravity of this task, Riser."

"I understand, Sirzechs. And I am ready to do what is needed."

"Serafall," continued Sirzechs, turning to the Maou. "I want you to assist Riser. He will need your support to deal with the traitorous families and ensure the protection of those who remain loyal to us."

"Understood, Sirzechs," Serafall said, nodding with a determined look. "I will do whatever it takes to support Riser and protect our allies."

Sirzechs sighed in relief. "Thank you, Serafall. I count on you."

Other matters were discussed until the meeting ended. They elaborated detailed plans to identify and eliminate the traitorous families, as well as strategies to protect allies and ensure the continuity of stability in the underworld. Serafall and Riser exchanged information about available resources, troops, and reliable contacts.

"We are all aware of the difficulties ahead," said Ajuka, standing up from his chair. "But with determination and unity, we can overcome this crisis."

"I agree," said Serafall, giving a slight smile to the others. "We are in this together."

"Good luck to everyone," concluded Sirzechs, nodding. "See you soon."

Riser's Mansion in the Underworld - Living Room

A magic circle glowed intensely in the middle of the living room of Riser's mansion, revealing Riser and Serafall. The room was decorated with elegant furniture and a lit fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere.

"So, Riser-chan," began Serafall, looking around before sitting in a comfortable armchair. "What's the first step?"

Riser walked to a nearby table and picked up a detailed map of the underworld. "First, we need to identify the locations of the traitorous families. We already have some information, but we need to confirm and act quickly."

"I will mobilize my forces and prepare defenses for the loyal families," said Serafall, crossing her legs as she observed the map. "And you? How will you deal with the betrayals?"

"I will personally ensure that the traitors are eliminated," said Riser, his expression firm. "This is a message we need to send clearly."

Serafall nodded. "Understood. Let's start immediately. Every minute counts."

Riser looked at Serafall, thoughtful. "Do you think I should ask Ophis for help in this war?"

Serafall was silent for a moment, reflecting on the question. She knew that Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God, was a powerful ally but also an unpredictable entity.

"Riser, Ophis is extremely powerful and can be a great ally. However, controlling Ophis is not an easy task," said Serafall, her voice full of concern. "She can be a trump card, but also a risk."

"I understand the risks," replied Riser, looking at the map with determination. "But we are in a desperate situation. We need all the power we can muster."

Serafall sighed, worried. "The traitorous families are weak individually, but Rizevim may be planning something big. He is not an opponent we can underestimate."

"Exactly why we need to be prepared for any eventuality," said Riser, looking at Serafall. "I will contact Ophis and ensure she is on our side."

"I hope you can, Riser," said Serafall, with a serious look. "Ophis' presence can make a big difference, but we need to be sure she won't turn against us."

"Trust me, Serafall," said Riser, his gaze full of confidence. "I will ensure Ophis is on our side. Now, let's start mobilizing our forces and preparing the defenses."

Serafall nodded, standing up from the armchair. "I will start the preparations immediately. Anything, I will be in touch."

Riser nodded, watching Serafall teleport to begin her tasks.
