Riser rolled his eyes at the system's response, which suggested eliminating his father as a quick solution to his problems.
For a moment, he seriously considered this option, tempted by the idea of getting rid of the complications Victorius brought into his life.
However, a promise made to his mother echoed in his mind, reminding him of his determination to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence. He found it ironic how, despite being willing to take his father's life, the simple thought of disappointing his mother deeply bothered him.
Opting to spare Victorius' life, Riser felt a heavy burden weigh on his shoulders, aware that he was choosing the most difficult and complicated path. The realization that the system shared his inclination for a more drastic solution brought a strange sense of validation, but it also made him question to what extent he would allow the system to influence his decisions and morality.
"System, is there any option available in the store that would allow me to hypnotize or control my father's mind?"
"Ding"
[Host, yes, there is an option available in the store that allows you to hypnotize and control an individual's mind for a limited period of time. This option requires 2100 luck points to be acquired.]
"What would that be?"
[Potion of Absolute Obedience: With this potion, you can hypnotize and control a person's mind for a period of 1 minute, manipulating their actions and decisions according to your will.]
[During this time, the affected person acts according to the orders and instructions of the potion owner, as if they were their own ideas and wills.]
[Most intriguingly, after the potion's effect dissipates, the hypnotized person will have no memory of being manipulated or controlled. For them, the actions taken during the hypnotic period will seem completely natural and aligned with their own decisions.]
[This characteristic of the potion makes it a powerful tool for manipulation and influence, as it allows the user to influence others' behavior without leaving visible traces or memories of the manipulation.]
[To ensure that you are the only one giving the orders, the host must put a drop of blood in the potion. Thus, the person who ingests it will exclusively obey the potion owner's instructions.]
Riser contemplated the option presented by the system, pondering the possibilities that the potion had to offer.
"I'll spend almost all my luck points, but it's the best option for the moment," thought Riser, determined to go ahead with the purchase of the potion.
"System, make the purchase of the Potion of Absolute Obedience," ordered Riser, his voice firm and decisive.
"Ding"
[Purchase completed. The Potion of Absolute Obedience has been added to the host's inventory.]
[Remains 300 luck points]
Riser accessed the system screen and removed the Potion of Absolute Obedience from his inventory.
Upon carefully opening the bottle, he contemplated the translucent liquid inside, whose gentle glow emitted an aura both intriguing and intimidating.
Without hesitation, he lightly bit his thumb, allowing a few drops of blood to drip into the bottle. With a quick and precise movement, a single drop of blood joined the crystal-clear liquid, mingling with its life essence.
After carefully closing the bottle, Riser nodded to himself, knowing that he now possessed a powerful weapon in his hands.
With a careful movement, Riser put the bottle back in his inventory before getting up from the armchair. He walked to the door of the room and left.
As he descended the stairs, Riser found Sona, Merlin, and Tsubaki in the living room. His entrance was met with curious looks from the three women, who noticed the seriousness in his demeanor.
"I'm going to talk to my father," said Riser, his firm voice echoing through the room. "I want you two - Sona and Merlin - to make sure my mother doesn't go to her mansion. It's important that she stays here, where she'll be safe."
"Alright dear, you can count on me."
"With me too, Riser-sama," Merlin affirmed, ready to fulfill her part in protecting Riser's mother.
"Thank you girls, goodbye," Riser bid farewell before teleporting out of the room, leaving Sona, Merlin, and Tsubaki alone in the living room.
Phenex Family Mansion
Riser instantly reappeared in his room, gracefully landing in the center of the silent chamber. The tranquil environment provided him with a brief moment of calm.
He took a deep breath, focusing on the task at hand.
Sensing his father's presence in the room below, Riser decided to use the power he stole from Gasper. He made time around him stop. The voices coming from the floor below instantly ceased, enveloped in a deep silence.
Riser left the room and, from the top of the stairs, spotted Victorius conversing with a man he didn't recognize. Both were frozen in time, captured by the effect of Riser's power.
Descending the stairs, Riser approached his father, his serious face reflecting his determination to resolve the situation unfolding before him.
Getting closer, he observed Victorius' stern demeanor, unchanged due to the suspended time. Without hesitation, Riser removed the bottle of the Potion of Absolute Obedience from his inventory and, with a precise movement, forced his father to ingest the liquid.
Seeing the potion disappear down Victorius' throat, Riser placed his hand on his father's shoulder and undid the power of stopping time, returning to normal flow only for his father. Victorius blinked, confused for a moment, before meeting Riser's eyes.
"Riser, what are you doing here?"
"Stay silent, old man," Riser ordered firmly.
Victorius tried to react, but the potion was already taking effect. He fell silent, awaiting Riser's next command.
"You won't try to invade my house again. Stay away from me, my mother, and my sister. Understand?" Riser said, his voice laden with authority.
Victorius nodded, his eyes showing internal struggle, but unable to resist the potion's influence.
"You will make me the next head of the family and forget any quarrel with me. Your sole focus will be on being a good financial manager, and my mother's words will only have less value than mine. Understand?"
Victorius nodded again, his eyes glazed and emotionless. He was now under Riser's total control, who felt a mix of satisfaction and unease at realizing the power he had in his hands.
Riser looked at the man next to Victorius, whose expression remained frozen in time, oblivious to what was happening around him.
"Who is this man you're talking to, father?" asked Riser, closely observing Victorius' reaction.
"He's a member of the Old Satan Faction that I hired," Victorius replied, his voice sounding strangely monotonous under the potion's effect.
