Chapter 109 - Chapter [109]

Riser's Mansion in Kuoh

Riser looked at Koneko and Kuroka, realizing their need to have some time alone to talk and reconnect as sisters. He stood up from the couch and approached them with a gentle smile on his lips.

"Koneko, Kuroka, I think you need some time together to sort things out," he suggested, his voice calm and understanding. "I'm going to my mansion in the underworld, Yoruichi, are you coming with me?"

Yoruichi nodded, agreeing to accompany Riser on his journey to the underworld. She stood up from the couch next to Merlin, her expression calm as she prepared to leave.

"Of course, Riser-sama. I'm ready to go," replied Yoruichi, her voice soft and confident.

Riser smiled at Yoruichi, grateful for her readiness to accompany him. He turned to Merlin, his gaze meeting hers as he explained his plans.

"Merlin, stay in Kuoh with Kuroka and Koneko. They need someone to take care of them while I'm away," he said, his voice calm and firm. "Can you do that?"

Merlin nodded, agreeing to stay to take care of the two sisters while Riser was away.

"Of course, Riser-sama. I'll take care of them," replied Merlin, her voice soft and comforting.

Riser approached Yoruichi, ready to perform the teleportation. He reached out his hand to her.

"Let's go, Yoruichi," he said, his voice firm and determined. "It's time to go."

Yoruichi took Riser's outstretched hand, she cast one last glance at Kuroka and Koneko, wishing them luck before they disappeared in a flash of light as they performed the teleportation to the underworld.

Sirzechs's Office

Baraqiel sat in the chair across from Sirzechs, his serious gaze indicating he had something important to discuss. Sirzechs, in turn, looked at Baraqiel with curiosity, awaiting the imminent revelation.

"What would you like to discuss, Baraqiel?" asked Sirzechs, his voice calm and patient.

Baraqiel took a deep breath before beginning, carefully choosing his words. "I wanted to discuss Azazel's disappearance."

Sirzechs raised an eyebrow, surprised by the subject brought up by Baraqiel. "Azazel disappeared? Are you sure?"

"I'm absolutely sure," replied Baraqiel, his expression determined. "He didn't show up at the places he used to be."

Sirzechs considered Baraqiel's words for a moment before responding. "I see. But what does that have to do with me?"

Baraqiel hesitated for a moment, knowing that his next statement might sound like an accusation. "You were the last person to see him, Sirzechs."

Sirzechs frowned, perplexed by Baraqiel's implication. He pondered his recent interactions with Azazel, trying to remember if there was anything out of the ordinary.

"Me? But I haven't had any unusual conversations with Azazel recently," replied Sirzechs, his voice genuinely confused.

"I understand, Sirzechs," said Baraqiel, his voice soft and conciliatory. "But as the leader of the Fallen Angels, it's natural for me to come to you with my concerns about the disappearance of an important member of our community."

Sirzechs nodded, understanding Baraqiel's position. He knew he was responsible for the safety and well-being of all Fallen Angels, including Azazel.

"You're right, Baraqiel," agreed Sirzechs, his expression serious. "I'll investigate Azazel's disappearance and keep you informed of any developments."

Baraqiel nodded, satisfied with Sirzechs's response. He stood up from the chair, preparing to leave Sirzechs's office.

"I appreciate your attention to this matter, Sirzechs," said Baraqiel, his voice filled with gratitude. "I hope we can resolve this mystery as soon as possible."

"Of course, Baraqiel," replied Sirzechs, his tone firm. "I'll dedicate all necessary resources to finding Azazel."

With that, Baraqiel left Sirzechs's office, leaving him with his own reflections on Azazel's disappearance.

Grayfia watched Baraqiel leave Sirzechs's office with a pensive expression. She approached her husband, her gaze seeking his as she sought an explanation for Baraqiel's unexpected visit.

"What did Baraqiel want, Sirzechs?" she asked, her voice laden with curiosity.

Sirzechs sighed, his thoughts still focused on Azazel's disappearance.

"It seems Azazel has disappeared," he replied, his voice calm but serious. "Baraqiel came to me for answers."

Grayfia furrowed her brow, concerned by the news of Azazel's disappearance.

"That's worrying," she murmured, her voice filled with apprehension. "Will Baraqiel go after Rias's pawn?"

Sirzechs shook his head, dismissing the idea with a wave of his hand. "I don't think so. Baraqiel wouldn't find it possible for someone like Issei to harm Azazel."

Grayfia considered Sirzechs's words for a moment before responding. "Then what do you plan to do about it?"

Sirzechs looked at Grayfia, a determined expression on his face. "I'll send someone to look for Azazel in secret. I don't want this disappearance to be used to start a war."

Grayfia nodded, understanding the logic behind Sirzechs's decision. "That's sensible. I hope Azazel turns up on his own."

Sirzechs agreed, but knew convincing Rias wouldn't be easy. "Yes, but it's going to be hard to convince her."

Grayfia smiled, her unwavering confidence in her ability to persuade. "Leave that to me."

Sirzechs nodded, knowing Grayfia was capable of handling any challenge that arose. "I trust you, Grayfia."

Riser's Mansion in the Underworld

Bedroom

Akeno was sitting with her head down in front of Sona, feeling embarrassed about the conversation she needed to have with her. Sona noticed Akeno's worried expression and leaned in towards her with a gentle expression.

"You know, Akeno, you can tell me anything. We're in this together," said Sona, her voice calm and comforting.

Akeno took a deep breath before finally confessing. "I slept with Riser, Sona-sama."

Sona was momentarily surprised by the revelation, but quickly regained her composure. She placed a gentle hand on Akeno's shoulder, conveying silent support.

"Akeno, I know that must not have been easy for you to admit. But it's important to be honest, especially with Rias," stated Sona, her voice calm and understanding.

Akeno nodded, grateful for Sona's support. "Yes, Rias deserves to know the truth. She's my best friend, and I can't hide this from her."

Sona nodded in agreement, showing her approval of Akeno's decision. "You're right, Akeno. Honesty is key in any relationship."

As they talked, both of them felt Riser's presence approaching. Sona looked at Akeno. "It seems Riser has returned home. Are you going to talk to him and then tell the truth to Rias?" suggested Sona, her voice calm and decisive.

Akeno nodded, acknowledging Sona's suggestion. "Yes, Sona-sama. I will."

Sona smiled, appreciating Akeno's deference. "I'll be here to support you, Akeno."

With that, Akeno headed to the living room to confront Riser, while Sona stayed behind, feeling a sense of relief for being able to support her friend.
