It's been almost a year since Jillian got married to Dion, and the two of them still fight with each other a lot, but in the end, their relationship is getting closer. Now they are like two best friends who sometimes joke and tease each other.
However, even then, they still didn't sleep in the same bed.
"Dion~ Can I borrow your book?"
"Yeah, not the one on the right, I haven't read that one yet. You always give away the contents if you read it first," Dion replied.
"Ehehe... It's fun to see you mad because you don't want me to tell you," Jillian said.
Dion rolled his eyes and continued reading his book. Jillian would sometimes join Dion in reading a book or walk outside with Aileen. Although in the end Dion would be cold to Jillian every time she came home alone with Aileen.
Feeling that Dion didn't like Aileen, they only met secretly without Dion knowing.
"Oh yeah Dion,"
"What?"
"I heard that some kingdoms are starting to have their own wizard and teach magic to the members of the kingdom. Is that true?"
"Yes, I heard so. The kingdom of Pilias started doing magical things to strengthen their kingdom and it seems that other kingdoms are interested and looking for them too. So now there are many kingdom members who are looking for a wizard for their kingdom," Dion explained while reading his book.
Jillian nodded at Dion's explanation. "If our kingdom had one too, it would be fun," she said.
"Our kingdom has one, and it even existed long before the other kingdoms..." Dion replied casually.
"Ehhh really?" asked Jillian curious and interested.
The man nodded and said the wizard never came out of his. tower, only at night and when everyone was asleep. No one know what the reason is.
"Maybe because at night his power increases? So he only comes out at night?" asked Jillian.
"No idea... I met hin once when my father introduced him to me and Theo. But I've forgotten what he looked like. It was a long time ago, probably when mom was still alive," Dion replied.
Hearing that, Jillian became even more curious about the wizard. She wanted to meet him and learn about magic from him. However, Dion forbade Jillian to meet him. Their father forbade anyone from seeing the wizard other than him. Maybe that was why he didn't come out during the day.
"But you know where he is?"
"You know the royal soldiers' barracks?" asked Dion.
The woman nodded.
"Behind the large wall that surrounds the barracks, not far from there is a tall black tower that father intentionally built for the wizard's residence..."
"Ohh it's so easy to find!" exclaimed Jillian who was intent on finding the tower.
"Heh, you think it's easy to get there?" asked Dion glancing at his wife. "Only father and the wizard know the entrance to the area where the tower is. The path is covered with very tall bushes. I remember there was also a maze of tall grass. It would definitely be difficult to find a way in, or maybe out?"
Knowing that, Jillian's spirits dropped, she had no idea that the terrain to get there was so difficult.
"Are you sure you don't remember the way to the tower?" the woman asked.
"Maybe a little?"
"Hmn... You said you were there with Theo, right? Then I'll just ask Theo!" Jillian got up from her bed and left the room.
"Haa... She's so excited," Dion sighed and went back to reading his book.
*****
"The wizard in the tower?" asked Theodore hearing Jillian's story.
"Yes, Dion said that he's in the tower behind the barracks. Is he really there?"
Theodore said that what Dion said was true, but it would be very difficult to meet him because no one could reach the tower except their father. Even he himself couldn't remember how he had gotten there.
"Didn't Dion say that no one could go there?" Theodore asked.
"He did, but I'm curious," Jillian replied.
"You shouldn't be too curious about that. Besides, I heard that he's very scary and doesn't like to be approached by anyone. How he became a wizard in our kingdom only father knows," explained Dion's twin brother.
Knowing that, Jillian could only sigh. She was really curious about the wizard. She had never seen a wizard before, so she wanted to know what they were like.
Resignedly, Jillian returned to her room and lay down on the bed.
"So soon back, still can't go there, hmn?" asked Dion without looking up from his book.
"Hmnn..." Jillian's only response was to clear her throat.
"Never mind, there's no point in you finding out about the royal wizard. Besides, if father really wanted the kingdom members to learn magic, he would have told the wizard to appear himself," the man explained even though he knew that would never happen.
He couldn't even remember what the wizard he and Theodore had met looked like. Dion knew that their memories of the wizard must have been partially erased so that they wouldn't think about the wizard's existence.
Jillian let out a long sigh and buried her face in the pillow, unconsciously falling asleep.
*****
At night, Jillian couldn't sleep because she had slept for so long this afternoon. She regretted it, but there was nothing she could do about it. She had tried to find the most comfortable position on her bed but still couldn't sleep.
She saw that Dion was already fast asleep on his bed. She thought about just reading a book until she got sleepy, but the lights were off. If she turned it on again, Dion would definitely protest.
"Hufftt... Maybe a short walk will tire me out." Jillian got off the bed and put on a long robe to cover her nightgown and walked out of the room.
Outside, there was a full moon. The moon looked huge and shone brightly. It was a quiet night, even the servants had gone to their rooms. The deserted palace hallway made Jillian feel calmer.
She walked around the area of the palace where she and Dion lived. Jillian intended to sit in the garden for a while until she felt sleepy.
"The air is quite cold tonight, fortunately the robe I'm wearing is quite thick, so the cold doesn't feel so bad..." she said.
When the woman was about to head to her usual spot in the park, she faintly saw someone standing near the lake. Staring up at the full moon above him.
"Who is it?" she murmured curiously.
As Jillian slowly approached the figure, she saw that the figure was wearing a black robe with blue stripes. His long white hair was blowing in the wind and shining in the moonlight which made his look luminous. Jillian had never seen someone like that before.
Until somehow, the person could sense Jillian approaching him. He put on the hood of his robe and ran away.
"Huh?! Hey wait!"
