Several hours had passed since Theodore had treated Jillian, the woman had not regained consciousness. He checked her heartbeat and luckily it was still beating normally, he was breathing with relief.
Theodore stayed by Jillian's side and held her hand until slowly her fingers moved, responding to his grip. "Lian? Lian can you hear me?"
Now she opened her eyes slowly which immediately glanced at Theodore who was standing not far from her. She tried to open her mouth which felt stiff.
"Theo..." she called with her voice still weak and hoarse. Finally she was able to speak again.
"Yes, I'm here. You're safe now," he replied as he rubbed Jillian's hand. Trying to calm her down from her current feelings.
It took time for her to fully wake up after almost three days of unconsciousness. Until she finally started to gather her strength and could speak more.
"Where am I?"
"You're at my base, you're safe here. They won't come after you anymore."
