Chapter 15 - An Apologize

Jillian screamed hysterically when Dion touched her chest. Dion reflexively got up and moved away from Jillian, saying that he didn't mean to do that. Jillian, who was still panicking, pulled a towel and covered her body.

"Not on purpose?! You said it was an accident?!" she snapped angrily. She then grabbed the items in the bathroom and threw them at Dion.

The shocked Dion immediately tried to get out of the bathroom while calming Jillian down. "Wait Lian, you just misunderstood! I didn't mean to do it!"

"You pervert!" Ignoring Dion's words, she threw the glass soap bottle that had fallen earlier.

The man, who had no time to dodge, was hit in the head by the glass bottle that was thrown at him until Dion fell unconscious. Jillian, who had just realized what she had done, ran over to Dion.

"D-Dion? Dion wake up!" She shook Dion's body, trying to wake him up. But he didn't wake up, with a bruise on his forehead from the glass bottle she threw earlier.

"Should I give him artificial breathing? But he's not out of breath, is he? Uhh..." Jillian let out a long sigh regretting what she had done earlier.

She got up and shouted for help. "Guards!"

"Ouch..." moaned the blond-haired man as a still-warm boiled egg stuck to his bruised forehead. "Come here, I'll do it myself," he said, snatching the egg from his wife's hand.

"Does it hurt that much?" the woman asked as she watched Dion who was still whimpering slightly.

"You want to try it?" asked Dion back in an annoyed tone.

Jillian was silent as she said that it was lucky that the soap bottle she threw earlier did not break. Hearing that from Jillian, Dion became even more annoyed that Jillian was more worried about the bottle than him.

"It's a good thing my head wasn't seriously injured, but you're still thinking about that bottle," Dion complained.

"Heh, it's your own fault for wandering into a bathroom that I was clearly in! You even touched me earlier!"

"I did it because I heard you screaming! Plus there was quite a bit of banging on the floor, how could I keep quiet."

The woman averted her eyes as she tried to calm down because she was still upset about what Dion had done to her earlier. But she also felt guilty for suddenly throwing a bottle that was obviously painful when it hit her leg. There was silence between the two of them.

Each of them realized that they had also made a mistake, but none of them dared to say sorry. To be more precise, they found it difficult to do so.

"Actually... I wanted to apologize to you..." Dion said as he lowered his arm from his forehead. Jillian immediately turned to look at him. "I said something cruel to you back then. I don't know what came over me at the time, but I just felt uncomfortable seeing you too comfortable alone with your friend," he continued to explain.

The man turned his head to look into Jillian's eyes with a serious yet gentle expression. "I'm sorry, you're right. I'm not a good husband, I don't like seeing you close to other people but all I do is push you away,"

"No, that's not true. I was wrong in this too..." Jillian said. "I shouldn't have said those things to you. I should have realized that our marriage is not something we expected, and there is no obligation for you to be a good husband for me. I'm actually making you suffer because of this marriage. So it's only natural that you act like that to me. I'm sorry I was too much for you," she explained as she touched Dion's hand.

The two stared at each other realizing their mistake and mending their relationship. Even though they were like enemies who disliked each other, there were still different sides to them.

"I'm fine with it already. But the next time you barge into the bathroom like that again, I'll make sure both your eyes are gouged out with my sword," Jillian threatened with a cold stare.

"Hee... Go for it, if you can touch me with your sword again later."

Both Jillian and Dion smiled sarcastically at each other as they started arguing again. The woman laughed softly and got up from the side of the bed and pressed another egg onto the bruise on Dion's forehead. "Heal that bruise on your forehead first."

"Yeah, I know..." Dion replied as he pressed the egg.

Suddenly, Jillian looked down and gave Dion a quick peck on the cheek which made the man gasp in surprise and immediately turned to Jillian.

"What the hell was that?!" he was shocked by the unexpected peck from Jillian.

"Think of it as a very sincere apology from me," she replied while patting Dion's head rather hard with her annoying smile and then she walked away towards the door.

"Where are you going again?" asked Dion.

The woman looked back. "On a date with Theo. See you later~" she teased and walked out of the room.

". . . Seriously??" Dion muttered softly and touched his cheek that had been pecked earlier. He was silent for a moment with his head bowed. His face immediately turned red and he covered his face with one hand.

"What an idiot."

At the same time, in a distant mansion. A woman with long brown hair was sitting on a chair while writing something on paper. She was writing a letter asking how someone she hadn't seen in a long time was doing.

The smile on her beautiful face looked so charming accompanying every word she wrote in the letter. The feeling of longing that she inscribed on a piece of writing so described how she felt at that time. All of that can be seen from the look in her eyes that is so soft that it can make anyone who sees it fall in love.

Even though she had heard unfortunate news six months ago about the person she wrote about in her letter, but she was sure that deep in that person's heart, there was still herself that he loved.

Her green eyes glanced at a small painting on her desk. A painting depicting her with a blond man with red eyes. The two of them looked so close and familiar as if they had known each other for a long time.

She picked up the frame of the painting and looked at the man's face. "It's been four years since I saw you in person. It's been four years since I heard you speak or laugh. I miss you so much," she said as she hugged the frame.

"I hope... In the near future, we can meet and be together again."

"...Dion."
