After an entire week, the kind-hearted professor decided that his 'students' had enough training to face someone powered by a nuclear reactor. The Ancient One also came by a few more times but nothing happened, she really just liked our tea and cake.
I just watched Charles make the brilliant decision to blow up a ship full of missiles. Plot armor might have stopped the missiles from detonating but recent observations made me believe that this universe was a lot more 'real' than other universes, so I had to cheat a bit and send the missiles to Asgard.
Odin had a habit of collecting trash and calling it treasures. Maybe he would claim it was a universe-ending bomb or something.
Erik managed to lift the entire submarine with his power, which was impressive for a human but still far behind his future self who easily lifted the Golden Gate Bridge, and decided to be just as smart as his Charles and throw the submarine with a nuclear reactor on the beach. I can definitely see why these two are best friends.
You know how it went from there. Erik puts on the helmet, kills Shaw, Charles being an idiot keeps his senses connected to Shaw and feels the coin go through his skull, and Magneto gives his passionate speech.
While everyone was just standing there, waiting for Magneto to officially become a Terrorist and their enemy, I was wondering why I bothered saving Darwin. From the beginning to the end, he did absolutely nothing, even Mystique was more useful and stopped Azazel from killing Beast.
They all watched in shock as hundreds of missiles were shot at them. Even that human woman, whatever her name was, couldn't understand how she was betrayed by her government but she would still go back to working for them like an NPC.
"Wow, that looks bad." My voice suddenly cut across the beach as I appeared not far away from everyone like I was always there.
"It's you! How did you get here?" Banshee recognized me and voiced out his surprise while the ex-fed pointed her gun at me and Magneto just glanced at me.
Magneto just stretched out his hand and stopped everything just a few meters before impact, turned them around, and sent them back to their sender.
"Erik, you said it yourself, we are the better men." Charles pleaded with his friend to stop but only convinced him further to prove that he was stronger than them.
"Great choice of words, man. I'm sure if you encourage him enough, he will stop eventually." I taunted the professor.
"Erik, listen to me!" he tried to get through to him by shouting and when he finally realized talking wouldn't make him stop, he tackled Erik to the ground.
Or at least he tried. Before he could even make the first step, he slipped on absolutely nothing. Desperate, he tried to get up again but fell on his face again like some goofy comic character. Since I decided to get myself involved with them, I decided to make my official power the power to make anyone and anything slip on anything.
This was a power I randomly created inspired by Touya Mochizuki. It sounded super useless but its efficiency was almost scary.
Everyone just stood there, watching as the telepath struggled to get up and the bombs hit the two fleets in the background. As expected from background characters, they didn't even try to help and just stood there.
*Bang x5*
The agent was still desperately shooting at Magneto despite the fact that the guys who betrayed her were already dead. Charles was in shock, not believing that his best friend just killed thousands and he wasn't able to do anything.
"Hey, sorry to interrupt but I wanted to point out that Azazel here could probably have teleported everyone away before the missiles hit the beach. I didn't want to mention it since I thought these guys deserved it but I wanted to just throw it out there." I broke the silence before the telepath could give some speech about how humans are innocent, even though he should know better than anyone that this was a lie.
This revelation seemed to shock the mutants who were more morally aligned.
"By the way, who are you?" Erik wasn't even faced with the fact that he just killed thousands and was more interested in the newcomer who was clearly also a mutant and seemed to have helped him by subduing Charles.
"Hi, I'm Zerr'on. My power is Slip, or at least that's what I call it" I was still a bit infected from my wife's overcaffeinated personality from a few days ago. She had a stronger influence on me than I anticipated, it was almost borderline mind control. If she says I spend the night on the couch, then I will spend the night on the couch and I wasn't even talking about sleeping.
A wife's powers aside, Magneto continued his speech in front of the burning ships and washed up trash on the beach. The mutants began joining his team one by one until only me and the prototype of the X-men remained.
"Look, I would really want to join you right now and be part of this historical moment but I gotta go. If I don't make it back before dinner, my wife will be nagging me for the next few days. Just call me if you need me or want to do some big thing like kidnapping a president" I said while throwing a card at Magneto which he easily caught.
When he looked up from the card I gave him, I was already gone. Slipped through space to fall back out right before the laid dinner table.
"How was your trip?" the voice of my beautiful wife came from behind me but why did she sound angry?
