Lin Fan woke up on a large rock, surrounded by deadly stomach acid.
He could see new earth and rubble fall into the stinking green liquid and disappear in a hissing sound of gas. It begged the question of what his save spot was made of but he had greater concerns now.
He could see several ownerless treasure swords float in the acid yet they were neither within reach to grab, nor were they immune to the acid as well and could be seen degrading before the eye.
An abrupt movement from his prisoner caused the acid to violently churn. Lin Fan held on to his rock with all his strength as a wave of acid lifted it up and carried it even deeper into the beast's body.
He was already lucky that he didn't get splashed with acid, yet he somehow also got stranded on a small island in the beast's stomach, unharmed but unconscious.
I just watched all that in complete amazement at how biased destiny could be, some people live their whole lives without a single good moment while he gets eaten by a giant worm with a stomach full of treasures.
He could have the storage rings and weapons that were swept to the shore of the small island he was stranded on, I was more interested in the golden glow at its center.
After approaching the golden light, I saw that it was actually a golden skeleton of a human. The legendary golden bones, it was clearly left behind by some powerful master but I doubted this worm was able to kill the original owner, it probably only ate that guy's burial place.
The skeleton still had some remaining will left and tried to make me submit and surrender. It didn't seem to want to be taken by me, either because Destiny had another owner for it or because it didn't see me as worthy which was just a joke.
Me, not worthy? People here saw destiny as one of the most powerful laws, I barely even considered it enough to give to my grandkids to play with.
Its objections didn't face me one bit, instead, I refined it with the True Sun Fire, turning it into a golden liquid instead of letting it replace my nonexistent bones. This golden liquid plus the glowing stone will be the material I will use to build my Foundation Establishment. I now had everything to create the strongest foundation possible without using otherworldly resources.
I might add a few things of my own depending on my needs but for now, this would be enough, if the next opportunity wasn't too useful to me, he could have it.
It didn't take long before Lin Fan woke up and started scavenging the space rings, during that time I was using the True Sun Fire to smelt the glowing stone and golden liquid together to form a gold glowing liquid that made me break through the moment it entered my system.
The foundation I was creating was on an entirely different level, whatever that glowing rock was, it was at least on the same level as the golden bones. As expected from the opportunities that would have jump-started a journey to the peak.
Even if I just started building my foundation, it already helped with calming my energy immensely, by the time I reached the peak, it should have reduced by about 30%.
While the storage rings were good, they just didn't meet the standards for his first fated encounter, so just a few hours later, the giant worm suddenly died and he was able to use one of the treasure swords to cut his way out through the wall.
It seemed since the worm was on the verge of death, it decided to die in some ancient cave with lots of treasures.
It had a large lake with spiritual water, glowing ores illuminating the cave, and many herbs growing around the lake. I could feel that there was something powerful hidden at the bottom of the lake but from what I could tell, it was absolutely useless to me, so he could have it.
After he got over his excitement and finished collecting all the herbs and ores, he took off his clothes and entered the lake to cultivate. Not even a minute in, he broke through to the 10th stage of the first realm, successfully becoming more than average.
He was going to stay here for a while to cultivate before he would discover the giant sword beneath his feet.
The great sword was extremely heavy and would only increase in weight the stronger its wielder got, it also had some other functions like healing its master using absorbed blood or allowing the direct absorption of stored blood for cultivation, none of which are useful to me. I was neither a body cultivator nor did I need a sword, especially if it meant I would have to constantly go out to kill beasts.
He could have the sword, which marked the end of our short but fruitful adventure together. He got his fated encounter, meaning destiny would no longer make him stumble over things for a while now.
Time to head back, how he gets back doesn't concern me, he will probably keep cultivating here for a few months anyway.
