Chapter 205 - Cultivation 6

6 years passed since then and I have reached the peak of the sixth realm, making my cultivation on par with the sect master.

This sect wasn't even a third-rate sect and didn't even have resources to nurture everyone with talent, instead, they relied on their minor collection of techniques to lure in young masters from influential families in this backwater region and use their connection to expand their influence further.

Even if the techniques in the library were useless for anyone from a second-rate sect and above, to these small families and clans, they were treasures worth joining a sect that wouldn't really support you.

They would have joined a better sect if they could but most of them did not have the qualifications, not to mention that this sect was the only one in the region. Good sect didn't want anything to do with this backwater place and every newly established one would be destroyed by this one so that they could continue their monopoly on this land.

There was no monthly pay and you had to complete a certain number of tasks to earn contribution points to be able to buy more techniques and pills. People here would often just band together and bully some families into giving them all their values. The sect basically relied on everyone being a bully to rob the non-members of their resources to not have to nurture them themselves.

It was time for me to join a new sect, not only because Xiao Chen was also planning on leaving but also because the environment in this wasteland made it very challenging to break through to the Foundation Establishment realm.

And I mean that by my standards, for others it was absolutely impossible. While Xiao Chen was relying on his golden finger to get resources, I was using my private stash of herbs from my garden. Even if my herbs were hundreds of times better than anything in this borderland, they failed to keep up with my ever-increasing need to break through. Don't misunderstand, I had herbs billions of times stronger but they weren't what I required to reach the Foundation Establishing realm.

From what I learned, it was the essence of things that mattered, I couldn't just use a divine fruit to break through to the Foundation Establishment realm. The last three realms all revolved around energy and were of great help in decreasing the chaotic energy but it was still far from enough.

The sect was also more than happy to ship us off to a better sect as they counted on Chinese filial piety or whatever they call it, to remember their roots and take care of their trash sect in the future. The travel expenses they paid to get us to the Divine Yang sect were more than they had ever spent on us.

Over the years, I tortured Xiao Chen to the brink of insanity, both mentally and physically, I even managed to make him vomit blood on multiple occasions, but I was growing bored of him. While his cheat made sure he had high cultivation, his nonexistent talent made him practically useless, he was practically immune to gaining combat experience and even if he gained divine combat techniques, they were useless to him unless he got them inserted into his brain directly.

I was already longing for a new son of destiny and something told me I was going to get my new victim in this new sect. From what I heard, the Divine Yang sect was actually worth its bread which was also the only reason why I decided it was worth it to memorize its name.

They specialized in fire, lightning, and yang cultivation and even had several holy grounds and formations around the whole sect to increase the benefits of cultivating there, all things that my last sect didn't have.

From what I heard, in this part of the continent, there even existed some secret realms and actual opportunities left behind by others. Where I had been till now, there was never something like a secret realm, and no powerhouse ever even considered putting his tomb into the wasteland.

Of course, with the better cultivation environment also came vastly more arrogant young masters. So far I have only met young masters and misses that believed themselves to be the most important person in town but I wouldn't put it past this new species of young masters to think of themselves as the center of the world.

After almost two weeks of travel and occasionally throwing Xiao Chen off the flying sword, we finally arrived at the Divine Yang sect. The sect was thousands of times larger and majestic, it had flying islands, a whole mountain range, and a forest within.

I could also feel the fire, lightning, and yang elements becoming denser the closer we got, just the formations wouldn't cause this, there was definitely some great treasure hidden somewhere in the mountains and I was going to get it before one of those sons of destiny.
