Asgard didn't look so impressive. It was somewhat like an old Nordic village while also trying to add some luxury by adding gold and gems into the wood. The Nordic gods seemed conflicted about whether they should stay true to their traditions or show their status by adding precious things.
I snatched Mjolnir right out of Thor's hand, caught Gungnir after Odin threw it at Ghidorah, and excavated Sumarbrander from the Charles River. In one small trip, I gathered some of this universe's strongest weapons plus some other stuff that weren't weapons, like Odin's remaining eye and Gjallarhorn.
I was originally planning on blowing the horn and starting Ragnarök but this version of the horn wasn't the device that would start the Twilight of Gods but just a very strange phone.
Asgard and Valhalla weren't nearly as interesting as I had hoped, they were very bad tourist attractions, not recommended. Next on the list were the Duat of the Egypt Pantheon and the Plane of High Heaven.
And while I was having fun breaking into the homes of gods, plundering, and exploring them, it was getting a little boring. The chaos outside was getting dull, the pantheons repetitive, and I was getting tired of having to kill every god who tried to stop me.
If it weren't for the fact that Nidhogg was in the middle of exploring Hollow Earth, I would already have left and returned to my comfy home. Since she might take a few years and I didn't want to interrupt her, I just shrunk my Tower down and sat it close to Null Island at exactly 0°N 0°E.
I created Hollow Earth with unique gravitational properties that could cause space to distort, meaning she might take longer to explore than expected but that was fine, I was planning on napping for a bit anyway.
I didn't mean like the dozing off I did last time, this was going to be a proper sleep. No dreams this time either, I was going to leave my body in the Tower to anchor in time but my mind would be spending an eternity sleeping in the Nothingness.
There were just so many things an omnipotent and eternal being could do before everything lost meaning. There was hardly anything I hadn't seen yet, toying with others was getting boring, normal sleep would just bring me to the dream world, and even sex would slowly lose its taste, no matter how many times you change the face of the hole you're railing.
I was hoping that by the time I woke up, Nidhogg had returned, Ianara spread enough information about the Essences, and the essence I was planning to create finally had enough energy. I never stopped feeding it energy but it barely even made a difference. The fact that I would most likely be finally able to meet my grandkid was just a minor bonus, who told it to take so long that I was losing interest in it?
And that's how my longest real sleep, or whatever you wanted to call it, began. While my body just sat motionlessly on my Throne for the next thousand, million, or even billion years, my mind left its confines and arrived at the only place where it truly felt at home. I quickly lost all sense of self and became one with the Nothingness.
Time had no meaning, it could have been several eternities or maybe just a few seconds before I came back to myself and returned to my body. My inner clock told me I had been away for 3.22 million years but I knew my mind had been asleep for much longer than that.
In front of me floated a blue ball of unknown material that my servants used to store information. It contained everything important that had happened while I was away.
After absorbing all the news, I had to say, a lot more happened than I thought.
Nidhogg not only returned about 400 years after I went to sleep, she also brought back a mate, someone not nearly as powerful as her but with a similar body size. After Shimo, the probably strongest Titan, accepted her as a mate and officially joined the family, he was given the blue sludge and his potential and power skyrocketed.
He once froze over Earth and caused the Ice Age but now he could easily freeze over an entire galaxy. Even if it was still far from what Niddy could do and would probably never become as strong as her, he would grow stronger with time.
Many gods had tried to enter the tower but either died on the first floor or failed to enter in the first place.
My grandkid, or better said grandkids, finally decided to come out about two hundred years ago. I will visit them soon and bring a few gifts but now I had different stuff to do.
Ianara had returned home at some point and was spreading dreams from here, while her sister somehow bypassed my restrictions and now lives in a cultivation world. The only explanation I could think of was that she did it the hard way and spent a long time searching the Outerverse for a cultivation world but that was fine, they were now old enough to do what they wanted, I would have lifted the restriction long ago if I wasn't asleep.
The most important thing right now however wasn't recorded in the blue orb as my servants had no clue about it, in fact, no one had any idea about it. The Essence finally gathered enough energy and people's belief to form.
