Chapter 149 - Middle Earth 8

Ah, I see why Smaug was still alive. I killed the bowman's son, oops.

Since his son wasn't there to bring him the black arrow that only he knew where he hid, Bart just shot normal arrows at Smaug like an idiot, even if these arrows hit the spot that was missing a scale, they would barely even be able to get underneath the dragon's skin. It was already a wonder that the black arrow went deep enough to hit his heart in the first place.

Just like that, the dragon lived, destroyed Lake Town, and returned to the mountain to kill the dwarfs, all because I killed an insignificant human child, what a crazy butterfly effect.

As far as I knew, Sauron and Smaug were secretly allied and because the dragon lives, any army that will come will be meaningless. I admit I messed up a bit but it wasn't entirely my fault, how unreasonable was it that the human city in front of the mountain had several black arrows but the legendary lonely mountain that specialized in crafting, rare ores, and was ruled by a crazy king that would do anything to protect his treasure didn't have even one?

I didn't need to be near the mountain to hear the rumbling and see the smoke coming from it as Smaug hunted the remaining dwarfs. It won't be long before the armies of Gundabt and Dol Guldur surround this place, neither the elvish nor dwarven army would come as long as the dragon was alive.

This was a giant headache. I was planning to travel for a bit more after this but it seems like my time here will be cut short by a lot.

With a heavy heart, I decided it was time to return. With a small thought, I was enveloped by a supreme force and absorbed back into my main body. As for Tauriel, she would either be killed after being found by the orcs or bred by them, not like I cared to find out.

(Talex Pov)

I could only sigh as my avatar's journey ended up being cut short due to its own recklessness. I was planning to just sit back, relax, and watch the adventures of Middle Earth through my avatar's eyes while doing some last adjustments to the Tower.

Now it seems like I had to go the boring route.

With a small wave of my hand, several changes happened to Middle Earth in an instant. The Lonely Mountain, with all its content, just disappeared into thin air, leaving a giant hole behind. Something similar happened to Rivendell and its surroundings, Lothlórien and the Elvenking's Halls, just that the inhabitants of these places disappeared completely, not just being transported somewhere else.

Twenty rings disappeared from the hands of their owners and were cleansed of their corruption and other filth before they appeared in their new owner's treasury, one of these rings cried in pain as it was being permanently stripped from its true owner.

In the depths of Moria, an ancient shadow suddenly opened its eyes as it sensed something but it was too late and it too disappeared, its fate unknown, and no one even beings aware that they had just been saved from a servant of Morgoth.

I just sat on my throne with three things floating in front of me, a golden ring, a glowing gem, and a shadowy flame.

After inspection, I decided that the ring was nothing more than a trinket at best, its ability to amplify its owner's power and shift him into a different dimension to achieve the effect of invisibility was utterly useless to me.

The Arkenstone was just a very beautiful stone but maybe I could use it to create some accessors later. At least it had more use than the ring.

The most useful of the three was definitely the flame. This flame was just the form that I sealed the Balrog of Moria in because I didn't want it to start destroying my still developing tower.

The Balrog, like any other Balrog, was an Ainur, a fallen Maia to be precisely, basically a distant relative of Gandalf but again, he was related to all Wizards, Dark Lords, and Balrogs.

Outside of Eä, it was a lot more powerful, around Multiversal level. I didn't know what I would gain by eating it but my instincts told me so, something that shouldn't be ignored since I mastered my sixth sense. I just slurped the flame up like a smoothie, it didn't taste that good but I felt some changes happening to me.

These changes were not just internal but also external, meaning my true form was changing again, it's been too long since that last happened.

After a few days, the changes stopped and I inspected my new look. There weren't many changes except that I had some glowing cracks on my hands and around my eyes that exuded a terrifying heat but what really made a difference was that I was no longer bald.

It might not have been hair that was growing on my head but the same purple fire that also resided in my eyes but at least I was no longer part of the club of the strong baldies.
