Chapter 127 - Saint Seiya 6

Avatar Pov

That close, way too close for my liking.

I managed to send a telepathic message back to Jamir before five Seventh Sense Saints surrounded me and managed to hold up for a few seconds before Aries arrived to the rescue.

Saints of Athena are truly something else. Even when I was outnumbered and out-equipped, I managed to not die instantly and even improved my Seventh Sense drastically in this life-and-death situation.

The blessing of the goddess of war and wisdom was no joke, I always thought that it was just the plot armor that made the main cast grow so fast.

When Aries arrived, they recognized their loss and retreated, I guess they didn't want a holy war to start. It would have been fine to kill me as long as my affiliation wasn't known but the arrival of Aries instantly put me under Athena's protection.

To make sure something like that wouldn't happen again on my way back, Aries personally brought me back, which only took a few seconds.

You might be wondering where I am right now because I can already tell you, it's not the Sanctuary.

The news of me reaching the legendary seventh sense had already spread and my coming few days were not peaceful, giving me no opportunities to continue my training.

After a few days of fame, I was finally left alone again and continued mastering my senses. Despite the danger I faced, I couldn't deny that my Cosmos grew exponentially because of the crisis and it would maybe only take me one or two months to master my seventh sense.

A lot happened in these two months, not for me but for the outside world. Seiya, his group of half-brothers, and Saori (Athena's Reincarnation) stormed the Sanctuary and went straight after the pope and to do that they had to cross all the Zodiac Temples.

Rules had it that the only way to reach the chamber was by defeating the Golden Saint of each temple, meaning we had Seventh, even one or two Eighth, Sense powerhouses fight for days and I was sure that if the Temples weren't so special, they would have destroyed not just the Sanctuary but the whole planet.

Their fight didn't concern me but the constant clash of massive energy was very distracting.

A few weeks after they confronted the false pope, I mastered the seventh sense and started thinking about how to approach the Eighth Sense.

The Eight Sense didn't give any big power boost and only involved the soul, making it nearly impossible to awaken while alive. Most people would hesitate at this point and try the harder way by staying alive but I didn't fear death and I was absolutely confident that I could awaken my eighth sense immediately.

So that's what I did, I used a bit of cosmos to explode my brain and the next thing I knew was that I was in the Underworld.

I already knew that none of my previous seven senses would work here but it was still hard to imagine not being able to sense anything. Most people imagine everything as being black when not having eyes but the truth is that there was nothing, no black, no white.

It was like trying to see through your feet, there was just nothing. If I wasn't used to Nothingness already, I wouldn't have been able to awaken my Eighth Sense even if I was previously sure, just keeping your consciousness took a lot out of me so I need to do this quickly.

The underworld and its laws were created by Hades and even if he wasn't actively enforcing its laws right now, they still were hard to resist.

An unknown amount of time later, I finally awakened my Eighth Sense and immediately felt the laws of the Underworld lose their grip on me and the familiar feeling of being in control of my soul returned to me.

I started to be able to see my surroundings again, not that there was much to see in the Underworld. I felt that I could recreate my body instantly and even remain in the Underworld with it for a bit but that wasn't enough, I wanted to stay here until I mastered the Eighth Sense.

Nobody was going to disturb me here until Hades awakens but that should still take at least a year. Now that I regained a sense, I could tell that a few months had passed, meaning that the Poseidon Arc should be happening.

I still didn't plan to join their silly wars but it was a pity that I didn't get the chance to get to know Mermaid Thetis better if you know what it means. Sure, she might be a fish but she was one of the few people here that I would call attractive. Wait, I was still a girl, right? I was pretty sure I could change my gender when recreating my body. Ah, whatever.

Spending time in the Underworld was weird, it felt like being underwater or in a lucid dream. Even with the Eighth Sense, keeping track of time wasn't easy.

Going by the fact that the Underworld has gradually become livelier I would say it has been a year now since I entered the Underworld and Hades awakened.

I was close to mastering the last sense and should be able to finish it before Athena's Saints use their plot armor to kill Hades and collapse the Underworld.

As for why I am saying 'Last' Sense?

Despite having reached the Eighth Sense, I still had 0 clues about the Ninth Sense. I knew that it was the Sense of Law but what did that even mean? I can only give up at the Eighth Sense and hope my main body will one day find a way to reach the Ninth Sense.
