Chapter 69 - Star Wars - Aftermath

The reactions to his last few actions varied across the galaxy. Some celebrated, some were furious and some didn´t care.

Third POV

Somewhere on a planet, somewhere in the galaxy, somewhere in the universe, sat a hooded figure on a throne with its eyes closed.

You could vaguely see the disfigured face under the hood.

Suddenly, the figures opened its eyes with shock, confusion and anger visible in them.

''Vader is dead? That´s not… What happened? WHO KILLED MY PERFECT PAWN?!'' his anger became increasingly noticeable in his voice to the point where the guards around him started to have trouble breathing.

He screamed in anger until he suddenly stopped abruptly and turned to his guards. He raised his hands and unleashed his anger in the form of lightning from them, giving his poor guards a shock therapy for free.

Only when they laid on the ground motionlessly, unknown if they were dead or alive, did he stop and pressed a button on his throne that connected him to one of his many officials.

Seeing the Emperor, the projection didn´t hesitate to salute ''Your Majesty! What can I do for you?''

''Send a fleet to Vader´s last reported location. Don´t spare any manpower and kill anything that moves! I want whoever did this dead.'' He demanded and closed the call.

The official was confused. Why did the Emperor what anything there dead? Who did what to make the merciful and kind Emperor so angry? These and more questions crossed his mind for a moment before he shrugged and did as he was told. He wasn´t paid to ask questions, he was going to leave this to the Interrogation specialists.

He passed the order on to the fleet commander and just awaited the results. This was the advantage of working at the imperial palace, he never had to actually leave for other planets.

Not long after, the fleet commander he had just contacted called him. 'Strange, this was too quick. It´s barely been a few minutes, just enough for them to start all systems'

He opened the call and was immediately met with the once stoic commanders fearful and worried face. Somehow, he was getting a bad promotion.

The urgent report was short but left him terrified. How did several Star Destroyer of several classes disappear so suddenly and without notice.

Before he could even give this bad news to the emperor, more calls came in, all with the same report. By now the official was pale as can be but he had to give these reports to the emperor.

He call and waited but no one answered. Unbeknownst to him the him, the emperor had started to destroy anything in range of his lightsabers to vent his anger, destroying the holoprojector in the process.

With the emperor not answering his calls, he had no choice but to report them in person.

As he stood before the door, he couldn´t help but swallow nervously. It didn´t make much sense to him, his emperor was kind and merciful, why should he be afraid? But he just couldn´t help listening to his instincts.

As the door opened he immediately looked down on the ground to not having to look the emperor on the eyes while delivering these bad news.

He didn´t notice the motionless guards, the destroyed surroundings or the increasingly angrier getting face of the hooded figure as he gave his report.

After not receiving a reply or new orders after his report and instead hearing increasingly heavier breaths, he made the fatal error and looked up.

He didn´t even have time to understand what he was seeing when blue light closing in on him and he started to scream in pain.

The last thing he saw before dying was the look of utter hate and anger on his lords face.

Then everything went dark but he could still hear his killers screams of rage.

The new of Vader´s death spread across the galaxy quickly despite the empires attempts to cover it up. Some people couldn´t believe it even, some were happy, mostly the remaining Jedi and the resistance, some were sad because they lost a friend and student but most citizen didn´t care at all.

The world or better said the galaxy kept spinning even without him and the empire recovered quickly from the financial disaster of so many ships suddenly disappear.

Unbeknownst to them, something different was approaching, something worse than any War or Sith but no one could see the signs, they were all too busy doing their light vs dark side game.
