Chapter 55 - True Demon King 6

First Pov

I stored Mael´s soul, so that I could extract Sunshine from it later, and closed the poral under the horrified eyes of the Fairy King.

He saw where this portal lead to and what his Spear did on the other side but there was nothing he could do. He threw his spear to me at full power with the intent to kill and when it suddenly appeared in the conference room, he couldn´t stop it anymore.

He could only watch as one of the Archangels died by his hand and even if it was an accident, it didn´t matter. Everyone there saw his spear and recognized it and even if he explained that it wasn´t his fault, the fact that Mael died by his hands is undeniable.

At the moment he wasn´t even worried about his spear being somewhere else while he was facing an opponent he most likely couldn´t defeat. What just happened was basically him declaring war on the goddess clan and they weren´t going to listen to reason and hunt his clan down.

''W-WH- WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?'' man, this look of anger and fear at the same time he had reminded me of his expression when he killed the human, who he thought killed his sister, during the trial of both King and Diane.

Why did I do this? Well, I just want to see the Goddess clan fall into even more disadvantages and possibly force the Supreme Goddess out of hiding, she was one of the reasons for this war yet she never even showed up.

Now that they lost not only their most powerful fighter but also their last ally, it won´t be long before she appears. Of course, it was also possible that they were going to use the Coffin of Eternal Darkness as a trump card by sacrificing their bodies but even then, they wouldn´t have won, they can only seal one race which would leave the rest of the races victorious and I doubt the Goddess´ pride would allow that.

I ignored the fly shouting and simply snapped my finger, enveloping him in Hellfire, and absorbed his soul to get one of the only inherited powers I was interested in, Disaster.

Disaster allowed me to basically increase any alignments, like turning a scratch into a deep slash or open an already healed wound. Imagine using this against Iron Man or Odin, one would directly lose his heart and the other one would receive a heavy head injury.

With the annoying fly gone, I moved my gaze to the giant tree in the distance. I could feel that it had some sentience, not much but enough to know that I was an enemy.

I saw a Sunflower grow at the top and with its head pointed at me, it bloomed. The solar beam it shot was leagues above what a mere Spirit Spear could unleash. This was beyond mere scratching, this was like boiling water.

I could actually feel my skin turn red from the heat and for the first time in a long time, I felt slight pain. It as actually less painful than putting your hand in boiling water and more of an annoying sensation.

I am pretty sore that would have hurt a bit more if my body wasn´t slowly devolved my feeling of pain, in fact I could feel my body adapt to this slight sensation of pain and in less than a half a minute I was once again greeted by the comfortable feeling of being scratched.

I guess its normal that my body can only display its evolutionary abilities fully when it´s under external stimuli, got to do this more often.

After enjoying the scratching for a while, the Sunflower withered away and several thorny vines took its place. I watched as the thorns were thrown and the vines stabbed at me.

With my new knowledge of the benefits of external stimuli, I didn´t defend myself even when the areas where the thorns and vines hit me started to petrify and necrosis.

The process of my petrification and necrosis started fast but grew increasingly slower the more areas it covered. Once I was more than 80% effected, it stopped completely and the effected area started to return to normal slowly at first but that also grew fast with time.

In fact, if other being with adaptation were to try this, they would most likely still die because this petrification and necrosis actually also affected the soul. My soul however was the last thing that I was worried about, even Azathoth couldn´t harm it.

Seeing all its attacks ineffective, it stopped attacking me and was unsure of what to do. I could tell that if I were to compare its consciousness with a human then it would be around seven or eight years old, far from being as mature as his two older siblings.

With this in mind, I opted a different approach, I might be able to convince it to become part of my Greenhouse willingly. That way the Fairies that were going to be born from it would be influenced by its willingness to being part of the Greenhouse and will take care of all the plant without me even having to tell them to do so.
