As I was on my way home, a strange guy stabbed me from behind. At the moment, I didn't expect my life would end so easily.
The sounds of celebration and people's laughter made the nation cheerful and noisy. The citizens of Tang Kingdom were busy preparing the sport tournament and festival for the rising talented young generation.
"Have you heard that emperor Kouhei has announced the winner of this year's tournament will become the next successor?"
"This year's tournament will be different than usual. I heard many nobles and royal families are attending it."
"Really!! I can't wait for that day to come."
Meanwhile, a young man was staring at himself in the mirror with disbelief.
"Who is this skinny, yet arrogant looking boy? Am I still dreaming?"
While I was deep in my mind, I noticed how luxurious the room was. The walls were covered with valuable paintings and lavish furniture as if the owner of the mansion was trying to show off its wealth.
A sudden knock on the door.
A tall silver haired young man walked in the room with a cold expression.
"Get ready, we are heading out.", said Lai.
When I looked up, I saw his face clearly. His eyes were beautiful like emerald green, yet emotionless. His face was slim and sharp, and his lips were as pink as a rose. His aura gave off a calm demeanor and a vivid impression.
After hearing the voice, unfamiliar memories were absorbed into Kai's mind.
The owner of this body was also named Kai, the son of Emperor Kouhei and a concubine. He had two brothers, Lai and Hai, who were talented in archery and literacy. On the other hand, he was good for nothing with no talent and had a bad reputation among the citizens of the Tang kingdom.
The original Kai was a hot headed person which caused him to have a lot of enemies. Many people have tried to kill him, including the successor candidates. And somehow, the assassination plan succeeded when he drank the poison wine. That is how I arrived in this world.
"Did you hear what I just said?" Lai frowned as his voice became colder.
"Yes…. I heard you."Kai said quietly
Lai was surprised to see how obedient his younger brother was. But those emotions quickly disappeared as he left the room.
