Chapter 4 - — False Knight

(Parker Dune's POV)

I hummed as I walked through the streets. A days good work. I figured out I could drill a hole through a floor to get in the vault, and with the destructiveness of void lightning, I didn't even have to use a drill. This is working out perfectly for me.

[Name: Parker Dune

Hm…let me see the stats on this thing.

[Name: Excalibur

Grade: Legendary — Historical

Element: Light

Description: The sword of the stone, pulled by the mighty King Arthur, they say whoever obtains it is destined to become a king, this item is strongly connected to woven threads of date]

Strongly connected to woven threads of fate huh?

I took the sword of its blue and gold sheath, a long white sword with gold markings and a strong steel hilt. It radiated a light glow.

I sighed and put it back in its sheath, I dawned a black trench coat and two black gloves. I bought them from the coins store for like…21,000. King Arthur's vault had more coins than I would be thought. The coat gives me an extra speed boost to my already high agility, it also coats my footsteps and motions, making it harder to detect me. These gloves increase my magic ability while adding the ability for more variety in my attacks.

I continued walking until I saw the giant spiral tower standing in front of me, it reached above the skies. The tower of trials. One of the many dungeons, it could be repeated as many times as possible, and it gives tons of loot passed the higher floors, it has about 300. I walked into the spiral tower and was greeted by a single room, black stone and a giant golden door in the center. I pushed open the door and entered.

A room. A screen appeared.

[Room 1]

I smiled.

(Nolan Break's POV)

I closed a tome, I looked around the library, the grand library of an arch mage. Merlin the wise. Whenever King Arthur was brought up naturally Merlin would be too, they were both prominent figures in legend. My seers eye absorbed knowledge from every book in the library, I didn't even have to touch them, I just had to look.

[Skills learned 351]

Hmph, that's it?

None of them were that useful, but I should keep the elemental skills, and the ones that involve Aura. The rest I disposed of and used as fuel for my mana core.

"Now where is that…"

I looked around until I found a black box covered in dust, I blew the dust off and opened the box. A large spherical gem sat in the middle of the box. An unlimited source of magic. The philosophers stone.

[Name: Philosophers stone (Incomplete)

Grade: Mythical — Historical

Element: Raw Mana

Description: A creation engine developed by the great King Arthur and Merlin the wise. Merlin the wise died making this as his last creation, but sadly it is incomplete.]

Right…I remember that jingle. A dragons heart, a lightless core, a giants soul, and a titans fire. That is what I have to use to complete it. Currently, I have none. I took the philosophers stone and put it inside my inventory. I looked around before I eventually turned around and left the library. There was nothing important left in it.

I stepped out and looked at the ground, a large humanoid wolf was eating another wolf, its insides torn apart. It stood up and spoke in a raspy voice.

"Finally, give me the creation engine."

"No. Who are you?"

The wolf smiled with a toothy grin.

"You are the harbinger of the apocalypse. Hand over the stone, if you do, you will earn yourself a spot on the few survivors of this chaos. My master seeks it for his plan."

"Your master? The heavenly demon?"

It laughed.

"So correct!"

I dashed forward and immediately slashed its head off in a slick motion.

The body exploded in a dark blast.

"Figured."

I walked away.

[1 day later]

(Parker Dune's POV)

[Floor 100]

Took me longer than I expected. I stood in the back of the black room, barely any light peeking through. Sitting in the center was a man wearing long black and purple robes, he had long black hair and glowing amethyst eyes. I clenched Excalibur as he stood up, picking up his pitch black spear.

[Objective: Defeat the black spear master, Heavenly Demon]

…a younger version of this guy. That's the boss of the 100th floor.

He clenched his spear and smiled.

"So it's you. I've waited a long ti—"

he looked at me.

"Your not…what? Who are you?"

Oh yeah, right. The heavenly demon has a bit of foresight, this copy of him is stronger than the rest of the bosses, so he could kill off Nolan Break early, he knew that with his past regression knowledge he would come to the tower. Even I have no idea why I made the Heavenly Demon hate him so much…
