(Pov – Rumix Phenex, right after her fight and a long night...)
(A/N: This takes place weeks before Riser's journey to another world. Riser has begun some shadow instruction but nothing beyond magical knowledge.)
I woke up with the first rays of sunlight piercing through the curtains and illuminating the room. My body, still aching from the previous day's battle with my master, Scáthach, reminded me of the efforts exerted. Despite the intensity of the combat and the defeat, I felt a strange and comforting calm within me.
A soft knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts. "Come in," I responded, my voice still marked by sleep.
Scáthach entered, carrying a tray with steaming tea and fresh fruits. Her gaze, serene and gentle, contrasted with the ferocity she always showed during our training sessions.
"Good morning, my apprentice. I brought something to help with your recovery," she said, placing the tray beside me.
The delicate sound of the china echoed through the silent room as she poured the tea into two cups. I accepted the cup she offered me, the gentle aroma of the herbs filling the room, bringing a sense of comfort.
As I took a sip of the hot tea, the silence that settled between us seemed more like a tacit agreement, loaded with a new understanding after the events of the previous night.
"You fought well yesterday, Rumix," said Scáthach, breaking the silence, her eyes fixed on mine. "Your technique has improved considerably."
I felt my face heat up with the unexpected compliment. "I still have much to learn, master," I replied.
She nodded lightly, a discreet smile appearing on her lips. "There is always something to learn, even for me. Last night taught me that."
A gentle breeze entered through the open window, causing the curtains to flutter and bringing with it the fresh scent of flowers from the castle garden. I remained silent, reflecting on her words. Our relationship had changed, evolved into something deeper than just master and apprentice. There was now a connection that transcended physical training.
"What happens now?" I asked, almost in a whisper.
Scáthach stood and walked to the window. Her silhouette against the morning light was imposing. "Now, we continue. You train, I teach. But maybe..." she paused, turning back to me. "Maybe we can find a balance between the warrior and the woman within each of us."
I nodded, feeling a wave of emotion wash over me. Scáthach's lessons were not just about combat, but also about life, about finding strength in vulnerability.
She walked back to me, and the wooden floor creaked softly under her feet. "Come on, there's much to do today. Training doesn't stop because we had a... moment."
I accepted the hand she offered, feeling the strength and tenderness in her touch. As I stood up, I realized that something fundamental had changed between us. The respect and admiration I had always felt for Scáthach were now mixed with something deeper, a bond that transcends words.
"I'm ready, master," I said, determination in my voice.
We left the room together, heading towards the training ground. The sun shone brightly outside, promising a new day full of challenges and discoveries. Walking alongside Scáthach, I realized that my journey as her pupil was only just beginning. And now, more than ever, I was eager to discover where this path would lead me.

(Pov. Riser Phenex.)
BoooooooooooM!
An explosion that shook the foundations of the underworld seemed to emerge as the day went on, with Riser's group training after receiving their respective weapons and lower essences.
Explosions echoed through the mountains of the underworld, the booms reverberating like thunder amidst the eerie calm of that place. I looked around, trying to keep focus on my students, but the intensity of the events made my mind spin.
"Rias, watch out for the energy!" I shouted, my voice trying to surpass the deafening sound of the battles happening around us.
SPLASH! CRACK!
Water and lightning intertwined in the air, a chaotic dance of elements being manipulated by inexperienced hands eager for power. Sona and Akeno were training hard, their Zanpakutōs responding to their wills in unpredictable but powerful ways.
"You need to focus these forces," I instructed, moving quickly between them. "Each of you has a unique connection with your weapons. Learn to listen and understand what they want from you."
Rias, with her armor of flames, struggled to control the energy pulsating within her body. She was a volcano about to erupt, and every movement she made emanated heat that rippled through the air around her.
"Riser, this is... difficult," she admitted, her eyes showing the tension of the effort she was making to maintain control.
I sat next to her, feeling the intensity of the flames and the strength of her power. I placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to convey some form of calm. "You're doing well, Rias. It's not easy to master something so potent. Remember, the key is in the harmony between you and the energy."
BUM! CRASH!
The sound of another explosion echoed in the distance, but this time it seemed different, more... directed. I looked at the horizon and saw a column of red light rising, the energy so dense it seemed to bend the air around it.
"Medeia," I murmured, recognizing the power and danger of that spell. "She's testing the limits of her abilities."
I got up, my eyes fixed in the direction of Medeia. "Keep practicing," I ordered the group as I began walking towards the source of the explosion. "I need to check on something."
Each step I took brought me closer to Medeia, the atmosphere around me growing heavier with the presence of her magic. She stood in the center of a magic circle, runes glowing with an intensity I rarely saw.
"Medeia!" I called out, trying to reach her mind before she lost herself in the vastness of the power she was invoking.
She heard me but did not immediately respond. Her eyes were fixed on the light emanating from the circle, her concentration absolute. The energy around her was frightening, but there was something more in it — a serenity that contrasted with the chaos her magic created.
SZZZTTT... CRACKLE!
Sparks danced in the air, crackling around her like will-o'-the-wisps. Slowly, the light began to dim, and the magic circle at her feet dissolved, the runes fading one by one.
"Medeia..." I began cautiously.
She turned to me, her gaze laden with a calmness that was unsettling. "I needed to test this," she said, her voice firm. "I needed to know how far I can go with this new strength."
I understood what she meant. Each of us was exploring unknown territories, pushing our limits and discovering new horizons. But seeing the power she controlled, a genuine concern settled in my heart.
"I understand, but we need to be careful," I warned. "This power is dangerous, and if we lose control, the consequences could be devastating."
She nodded, her gaze softening. "I know, Riser. But I have to be ready for whatever comes. We all need to be."
I felt the truth in her words. The world was changing, and with it, our destinies were intertwined in a complex and unpredictable web. But seeing the determination in Medeia's eyes, I realized that we were not alone.
I returned to the group, watching as they continued their training, each of them immersed in their own world, trying to master the skills they had acquired.
The sun began to set on the horizon, painting the sky with shades of orange and red. The heat from Rias's flames, the sparkle of Akeno's sparks, the flow of Sona's water — everything seemed to harmonize into a symphony of elemental forces.
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. "We all need to be ready," I murmured to myself before rejoining them, ready to continue our journey.

Just as the training was about to continue, I noticed two people, two graceful figures appearing. The first was Rumix Phenex, Lady Phenex. Riser's mother. She had a perfectly sculpted figure in tight black clothing.
Beside her was the fearsome and captivating Shadow, Scáthach.
When I saw her for the first time, I was immediately captivated by the aura of mystery and power that emanated from her. Scáthach was an impressive figure, with an almost supernatural beauty. Her long, sleek hair was a deep, dark shade, like a starless night, cascading over her shoulders and almost touching the ground. Her eyes, a deep red, glowed with ancient wisdom and an inner fire, as if they were capable of seeing through my soul.
She wore armor that seemed to be an extension of her own body, perfectly fitted to her elegant and athletic form. The armor, a dark purple hue, subtly reflected the light, highlighting every curve and line of her figure. Her legs were long and strong, suggesting impressive agility and strength, and her hands, covered by gloves, held her spear with a confidence that only those who fully master their art possess.
There was a lightness in her movements, as if the very air around her was in sync with her rhythm, making her almost ethereal, but at the same time, there was a solid and unshakable presence, like an imposing mountain. Everything about her, from her posture to her firm and determined gaze, conveyed the sense that she was an unrivaled warrior, someone who had faced countless battles and emerged victorious. Being in her presence was like feeling the weight of history and legend, as if I were standing before an entity that transcends time and space.
The warm underworld wind blew across the training ground, carrying with it the scent of sulfur and the promise of even greater battles. The sound of explosions and the constant hum of magical energy made the air vibrate with palpable intensity. Every thrust, every spell cast was a step towards the unknown, and I knew we were on the brink of something grand — or devastating.
I watched from afar, my eyes fixed on the horizon where Sona, Rias, Akeno, and Medeia were testing their newly acquired abilities. The glow of their energies mingled with the underworld's twilight, creating a spectacle of lights and shadows that reflected the internal struggle of each of them. They were growing, evolving, but with that growth came a danger they couldn't fully comprehend.
"Riser," the familiar and cold voice of Scáthach broke my thoughts. I looked up, seeing her alongside Rumix, my mother, who always maintained a serene and imposing expression. Scáthach, on the other hand, radiated an unsettling energy, like a volcano about to erupt.
"Scáthach, mother," I greeted, trying to hide the surprise in my voice. They rarely appeared together, and their presence indicated that something more serious was about to happen.
Rumix took a step forward, her piercing gaze analyzing each of the students in training. "You've done well training them, Riser. But now, more than ever, they will need firm guidance. The forces awakened within them are powerful but dangerous."
"And if not controlled," Scáthach interrupted, her voice cutting through the air like a blade, "they will be destroyed by their own ambitions."
I nodded, understanding the weight of her words. The line between control and chaos was thin, and I was leading each of them to walk that line.
"You came here for a reason," I observed, turning my attention to Scáthach. "Is there something you want to show me or teach me?"
She smiled, but it wasn't a smile of joy; it was the smile of someone who knows more than they reveal. "Perhaps it's time to test their true strength. Thinking you've mastered your abilities is the first step to defeat. They need to learn to face the unknown."
Rumix crossed her arms, her eyes shining with a light I knew well — the fierce determination of the Phenex. "Do you think they're ready for this, Riser?"
I looked back at the group. Medeia was focused, her eyes fixed on the horizon where the last explosion had lit up the sky. Sona, always meticulous, adjusted her posture as her waters still swirled around her. Rias and Akeno, side by side, shared a look that spoke more than words could express.
"They need to be ready," I finally replied. "Because what's coming next won't wait for anyone."
Scáthach stepped forward, raising the Gáe Bolg spear with deadly elegance. "Then let's see what they're really made of."
She advanced onto the training field with the confidence of a predator who knows the hunt is about to begin. Rumix followed closely, her own latent power radiating in the air like a promise of fire and destruction.
"Prepare yourselves!" I shouted, my voice echoing like thunder. Sona, Rias, Akeno, and Medeia turned to me, their expressions shifting from concentration to fierce determination. "We're about to face a challenge that will test everything you've learned."
Silence fell over the field for a brief moment, a calm before the storm. And then, without warning, Scáthach attacked.
CLANG! The metallic sound of steel against steel filled the air as Gáe Bolg met Medeia's blade. Sparks flew, illuminating Scáthach's face with an almost supernatural glow.
Rias invoked a fire barrier to protect Sona while Akeno launched herself into the air, lightning dancing around her body. The fight that ensued was quick and intense, a whirlwind of power, speed, and strategy.
But despite the ferocity of Scáthach's attack, I realized she wasn't fighting to win. She was testing, pushing them to see how far they could go, how far they could resist.
And they resisted. Each of them, in their own way, found the strength not only to endure the attack but to counterattack with everything they had. Sona's water surrounded Scáthach like an unstoppable current, while Rias channeled her flames into an explosion that resembled a miniature sun. Akeno, from the sky, launched lightning bolts that zigzagged across the battlefield, and Medeia, with deadly precision, forced Scáthach to retreat for a brief moment.
When the dust settled, they were panting, sweaty, and exhausted, but there was a light in their eyes — the light of someone who has faced the abyss and returned stronger.
Scáthach lowered her spear, her gaze a mix of approval and something that seemed... pride? Rumix, beside her, stepped forward, her wings of fire spreading in a majestic gesture. "You have passed the first test," she declared, her voice firm. "But the road ahead will be even more difficult. Prepare yourselves for what's to come."
I approached the group, feeling a wave of pride for each of them. "You did well. But remember, this is just the beginning."
And with those words, the training field plunged back into silence, except for the soft sound of the wind, as if the underworld was, for a brief moment, at peace.
But peace never lasted long. And we all knew that.

(Pov. Illyasviel)
"My Satan. Lucky it wasn't us fighting down there, right?" said Illya, looking at Rin and Sakura and Seekvaira with Medusa as their mentor. Medusa was training everyone's physical abilities.
"I wouldn't be so sure," Seekvaira said, wide-eyed, already thinking about who this woman was.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Rin, who had blonde hair and red eyes. At that moment, she was using the power of her Servant to match Medusa.
"It's that next it will be us," Medusa said with overwhelming certainty.
I couldn't help but look back at the battlefield; now they had been fighting for an hour. At this moment, Rias, Sona, Akeno, and Medeia were all lying on the ground while the woman swung her spear to remove the dust from it. My eyes widened when hers met mine. I felt the weight of the planet pressing me down, and I quickly remembered to summon my Servant's strength.
Sidonai!
Breathing chaotically, I looked back and saw everyone sweating coldly. Now that I think about it, all of us have divine characteristic Servants, and she is a god slayer....
(A/N: Sorry for the delay in releasing chapters. Last week I traveled for work, and this week I was sick—vomiting and having very strong headaches.)
