(Riser Phenex's POV)

It's been a few days since Scathach arrived at the Phenex Manor, and to say she surprised me would be an understatement. She devised a rigorous training regimen for all the members of my nobility, focusing on instilling pure instinct and reflex-based combat in both our bodies and minds.

In my mind, I list my current members of nobility along with their abilities.

Each of them has acquired a Zanpakutou, as well as a Demon Mark from Nanatsu no Taizai. Additionally, they have received a lower version of each essence. Each one of them possesses a unique potential that only they can reach through their own efforts.

Today, oddly enough, is a gala, a gathering of the most prominent members, heirs, and Lords of their noble families. (Author's Note: Years later. Riser is now 15 years old; if I recall correctly, he was 12 before. This would make Rias two years younger than him in this story, and her sister four years younger than him.)

All the Satans were present, and a sense of joy filled the air, even among the older devils of the Great King's faction. For some reason, both factions were present, including the new Satans. It was as if this new milestone had impacted all demonic beings.

False smiles and shallow conversations filled the hall. I, Riser Phenex, observed everything with a mix of boredom and calculated interest. The sparkling lights reflected off the crystal glasses, creating an almost hypnotic glow.

CLINK!

The soft sound of glasses clinking echoed through the room, blending with the murmur of conversations. I adjusted my tie, feeling the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. As a super devil of the underworld and a potential Phenex Satan, every move I made was watched, every word scrutinized.

"Riser, my dear!" a sharp voice cut through my thoughts.

I turned to find Lord Bael, his smile too wide to be sincere. I forced a smile in return.

"Lord Bael, what a pleasure to see you," I replied, my voice dripping with a cordiality I did not feel.

MURMUR...

"May your future be magnificent. And may your power reign over all," said Lord Bael as he abruptly left, my eyes following his movement. I noticed Rias approaching me, taking my hand.

"Lord Bael is not in a great mood, especially because Sairaorg Bael took his metal vessel and challenged his younger brother. Even without using his metal vessel, he was more than enough to defeat his younger brother, wielding the power of destruction," Rias said while holding my hand.

I turned to her. She had a satisfied smile on her face.

"Well done. Not only did he try to expel Sairaorg and Aunt Misla, but both were also placed in the most isolated corners of the Bael territory. Every piece of information was kept in secrecy. But, unfortunately for him, Sairaorg trained every day to defeat his other son and reclaim his rightful place. So when he says such things to you, don't let it matter too much."

"Why would I care about the opinion of a sheep? Just like you and a few others, the only ones who matter to me are those I consider my family." I turned to her, gently squeezing her hand and flashing a disarming smile, which made Rias turn away blushing.

Muffled laughter and whispers of conversations continued as I watched the ballroom with keen eyes. The nobles danced to the soft melody of a harp, a stark contrast to the tension I felt in the air. It seemed everyone was here out of obligation, trapped in the same political game, dancing to the music without truly enjoying the moment.

CLINK!

The sound of glasses clinking pulled me momentarily from my thoughts. I observed the hall, filled with important figures from the demon underworld, all faking smiles and exchanging looks loaded with ulterior motives.

"Riser, darling," Rias' melodious voice echoed beside me. "Shall we dance?"

Without waiting for my response, she pulled me to the center of the ballroom. The soft music filled the air as we began to move to the slow rhythm of the waltz.

Our steps echoed on the marble floor, synchronized with the beat of the music. I felt curious glances upon us but kept my expression impassive. Rias, on the other hand, smiled radiantly, as if genuinely happy.

"You seem tense," I whispered to her, spinning her gently.

She tilted her head, her blue eyes fixed on mine. "It's not like I can't embarrass myself in front of everyone and become a joke in the underworld," Rias said with a hint of feigned sadness.

With the same impulse, I whispered in her ear, "It's not like I wouldn't fight for your honor. I'm sure even your brother would." I sighed at the last part, remembering that the Crimson Devil has a sister complex, stronger than most frightening men in the Targaryen family.

Our waltz steps had a captivating rhythm, along with the music. It became slower, and both of us drew closer. As our bodies approached, the music grew softer.

The gentle melody of the waltz filled the hall, enveloping us in an almost magical atmosphere. Rias's steps were light and graceful, perfectly in sync with the rhythm of the music. I felt the warmth of her body coming closer with every turn, her blue eyes fixed on mine, shining with a mix of challenge and complicity. The tension I had felt before began to dissipate, replaced by an unexpected feeling of tranquility.

The movement of our clothes as we twirled created a soft sound, almost like a whisper of silk. The hall around us seemed to shrink, and for a moment, it was as if we were dancing alone in our own universe, oblivious to the outside world and its intrigues. I tried to focus only on the dance, the steps, the rhythm, but there was something in the way Rias looked at me that made my heart race, a rare sensation for someone like me, accustomed to controlling his emotions.

"What is it?" Rias asked softly, without ceasing to smile, her voice low enough for only me to hear.

"You're different today," I replied, keeping my tone casual but with a slight smile. "More... confident compared to before."

She laughed softly, a sound that mixed irony and genuine joy. "Maybe it's the company," she replied, her eyes shining with something I couldn't completely decipher.

The music began to slow down, signaling the end of the dance. I gave a final spin, pulling Rias closer. Our final move left us face to face, so close I could feel her breath against my skin. For a moment, time seemed to stand still. There was a brief second of hesitation before applause filled the hall, breaking the enchantment. (Author's Note: For those expecting a kiss, sorry. XD)

Applause filled the hall, echoing throughout the space. I reluctantly released Rias's hand but maintained my smile. She returned the gesture, and together, we bowed to the audience, maintaining a facade of perfection.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Serafall's energetic voice resonated throughout the hall, interrupting the applause. She stood on an elevated platform, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I would like your attention for a very special presentation!"

The murmurs ceased, and all eyes turned to Serafall. She smiled broadly, her hands raised to command silence. "As you know, we are in a time of great change in the underworld. And as part of these changes, we are proud to introduce a new system that promises to revolutionize our demonic society!"

A silence filled the hall. Serafall paused dramatically, savoring the suspense. "The Demonic System!" she exclaimed, and a murmur of curiosity spread through the crowd. "This new system will allow all demons, regardless of their status or lineage, to develop their powers and abilities to the fullest! It's a new beginning for all of us!"

The excitement in the air was palpable, but I remained cautious. A new system? A revolution? Those words always come with promises of great change, and change is not always welcome, especially among those who already hold power.

Serafall continued her presentation, detailing the advantages of the Demonic System. I listened, but my mind was elsewhere. I tried to imagine how this would affect my position, my nobility, my family. Changes always bring uncertainties, and uncertainties are dangerous.

"Now," Serafall announced, her voice cutting through my thoughts, "to better explain how the Demonic System will work, I would like to invite Riser Phenex to the stage!"

For a moment, I felt all eyes turn toward me. I swallowed hard but maintained my composure. I stepped forward, moving with the confidence expected of someone in my position. Rias gave me a gentle push of encouragement, her smile reassuring.

"Good luck," she whispered.

I walked up to the platform where Serafall stood. The hall was now silent, everyone waiting to hear what I had to say. I stopped beside Serafall, who gave me an encouraging smile. I took a moment to take a deep breath before beginning to speak.

"As many of you know," I began, my voice firm and clear, "the underworld has always been a place where power and lineage determine everything. Yes, even with this new system, your lineage will still play a fundamental role in your power. However, the Demonic System will change that. It will allow everyone, regardless of their lineage, to compete and develop their powers on an equal footing. Of course, this will depend on the hard work each person puts into their training."

"The Demon Mark (the Dark Mark from Nanatsu no Taizai) will grant demons access to the power of darkness, regeneration, Purgatory Flames, Soul Theft, and poison resistance. The system will also remove racial limitations, reducing and combating holy energy, as well as making demons timeless, ageless immortals." I finished this part, letting the information sink in before applause began to ripple through the room.

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!

My presentation continued for a few more minutes, detailing every aspect of the new system. I talked about the benefits of the Metal Vessel, the weapons that each member of the nobility received, specially forged to channel and amplify our demonic powers. I explained how the "Akuma no Mi" represents an evolutionary leap for all of us, offering new forms of combat and defense. Each of my words was meticulously chosen to inspire and instill respect.

"As you can see," I continued, feeling the weight of attentive gazes, "this is not just an advancement for demons of noble lineage but an opportunity for all of us in the underworld to reach new heights of power and influence. The Demonic System proves that with determination and effort, we can all rise above the limitations imposed by our nature."

There was a moment of silence before applause once again filled the hall.

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!

I observed the crowd, trying to gauge their reactions. There was a mix of enthusiasm and skepticism. Some seemed genuinely intrigued by the possibilities, while others, especially the older ones, maintained cautious expressions. It didn't matter. The important thing was that I had planted the seed of curiosity.

Serafall approached, her vibrant presence beside me. "Excellent presentation, Riser," she said with a smile. "I'm sure you've inspired many today."

I simply nodded in gratitude. "It was an honor, Lady Serafall," I replied, keeping my tone formal. "I hope this system brings the growth and prosperity we all desire."

She nodded, then turned to the audience. "With that, we will conclude today's presentation. Thank you all for your attention and presence. I hope this evening marks the beginning of a new era for the underworld!"

The applause erupted once more, now more intense and prolonged. I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I stepped down from the platform. Speaking before so many critical eyes was a significant pressure, but I couldn't let it show. Every step I took back to the main hall was a calculated display of confidence.

As I returned to my place, I saw Rias waiting for me, a smile of approval on her lips. "You did well," she said softly, her voice almost lost in the surrounding murmurs.

"Thank you," I replied, a slight smile forming on my face. "But I think we still have a long way to go."

She nodded, and together, we turned to observe the room, which had returned to its usual state of murmured conversations and elegant dances.

(Author's Note: Finally, I can start the Olympus arc, now that some time has passed. There will also be an update in the template.)

(A/N: I wrote this while on a business trip, sharing a room with two other guys. Sorry for the delay. Right now, I'm finishing the update of the manufacturing process. I've been here for almost a month. Hopefully, after this month, next month I'll have more time to write more frequently.)
