Chereads / Hogwarts : I Have the Holy Father System / Chapter 4 - CHAPTER-4 Legilimency

Chapter 4 - CHAPTER-4 Legilimency

The letter was finished, and Darren was left with a big decision – whether to go to Hogwarts.

He had believed himself to be an ordinary student, maybe a systematic crosser at best, and the prospect of attending Hogwarts had initially excited him.

However, upon discovering he was the protagonist's brother, panic set in.

He realized he was the kind of brother who was destined for disasters and hardships, according to the novel's plot.

His role was supposed to be tragically killed in front of the protagonist, prompting the protagonist to fight back. Such a plot meant he might have to die at a certain point to fulfill his identity.

To go or not to go?

[Ding, sensing the host's thoughts, the system believes it's necessary to make the host aware of its capabilities.]

[Ding, at this stage, the system can block Dumbledore's full-force blow and take the host away from the plane for escape. As the host's Father value increases, it can become even more powerful.]

[]Ding, for the system, Hogwarts is just the starting point.]

Darren gave the system a thumbs up. "Awesome. I'm going to Hogwarts!"

It didn't matter if the plot followed its course or not. He wanted to save the world and shine the light of the Holy Father at Hogwarts.

"Oh, dear little Darren, you should have read the letter. Maybe we should come to your room and sit down. You may need a glass of chilled lemonade to calm down," an old voice echoed in his ears just as Darren made his inner declaration.

He looked up to see an old man in a purple robe standing before him. Tall and thin, with silvery-white hair and a long beard, Dumbledore's blue eyes sparkled behind half-moon glasses.

[Ding, the host is being subjected to Dumbledore's Legilimency; is it a veiled memory? ]

Darren was caught off guard. Dumbledore had delved into his mind without warning, an intrusion that could have exposed the secrets of his origin if not for the protective shield of the system.

Annoyed at Dumbledore's audacity, Darren decided to reveal his memories willingly. "System, according to the memories I gathered, show them all to Dumbledore!"

The memories flowed:

The eleven-year-old boy stopping Kenli from bullying a girl and being pushed down the stairs for it.

The ten-year-old boy giving some of his food to stray cats.

The eight-year-old boy being beaten for pointing out a thief on the street.

The six-year-old boy recommending his little friend to a rich couple for adoption.

The four-year-old boy punished for bringing an abused child to the orphanage.

The two-year-old boy feeding shoddy milk to a hungry crying baby.

Dumbledore, utilizing Legilimency,

witnessed all these images before him. He withdrew his wand, initially not wanting to delve into so many memories, but he couldn't resist the pull as the child's memories poured into his brain.

He reluctantly accepted Darren's experiences, realizing they had shaped him into a kind-hearted, brave, and tenacious individual, full of love.

The child was too kind, and Dumbledore couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for not finding him sooner. Removing his glasses and wiping his tears, Dumbledore apologized emotionally.

"Forgive me, child.

Please forgive me for the serious mistake made by this damn old man. I may have made you think of unhappy things. I'm very sorry, child!"

Darren secretly smirked. Having read the original work, he knew Dumbledore was suspicious and often used Legilimency to invade minds.

The continuous apologies seemed more like a facade than genuine remorse.
