Chapter 36 - What… Happened?!
The black-robed man's spine shivered in fear after his right-hand man's blatant words.
He looked at him and sent a voice transmission: "Shut your mouth! If you want to die, then don't drag me with you!"
The servant suddenly felt that something was wrong.
His master would never stop him from doing anything and would warn him to be careful of only certain special existences.
Oh no! He now understood the situation.
I provoked someone I shouldn't have…
However, his realization was a little too late, as one of the women among the ten before him had let loose her aura.
"I think there has been a misunderstandi—" the white-robed man spoke humbly.
SPLURT!
A sword slash, invisible to the eye, had arrived before he could complete his words and struck his neck.
THUD!
His head and body lay on the ground, the head staring blankly at the body it was once part of.
The neck had been chopped in a clean, straight manner, and both the head and the body began to burn.
The army from the spatial cracks stood frozen, bewildered. Their general had been killed in front of them.
No… it wasn't just one but ten generals.
The ten women standing before them were far from normal. They weren't people one could offend, let alone fight.
The whole army shivered in fear, cold beads of sweat forming on their foreheads. Moments ago, they held their weapons with tight grips and high morale, but now they didn't even dare to breathe.
Talk about morale—it had been chopped away just like their general.
The speed of the attack was one thing, but they didn't even know when she had attacked.
Aura Blade!
They were all elites and knew how to fight with their auras, but an aura blade naked to eye was not something they could imagine.
One thought traversed through their minds, making them doubt their actions even more.
Just how strong was she?!
No one knew, and no one wanted to find out.
They were simply too scared of this woman… no, this monster!
Barely ten seconds had passed since their general died, and the atmosphere was enveloped in an eerie silence.
The aura released by the Phoenix Empress had not subsided; instead, it grew stronger and more intimidating.
Leo had no choice but to observe the situation quietly. He was not in a condition to confront the black-robed man.
Suddenly, the white-robed man was decapitated, and the aura from his mother-in-law began to leak.
She was immensely strong, despite her usual teasing and calm demeanor.
BOOM!
A huge explosion erupted near the already-repairing spatial cracks. Another spatial crack appeared, halting the repairs and slowing the process significantly.
Black smoke began to materialize outside the new spatial crack, making it even more intimidating.
Within the smoke, the shrieks of various beasts and the chirping of bats could be heard. Slowly, it coalesced into a humanoid form clad in a butler's uniform.
WOOSH!!!
An aura far stronger than the Empress's enveloped thousands of kilometers in milliseconds.
Just as Leo looked up at the massive spatial crack—
The figure in the butler's uniform vanished from its initial position and reappeared a few meters away from him.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
As if that wasn't enough, another series of spatial explosions, no weaker than before, echoed across the already unstable space.
A giant beast with three dog heads gnawed on the very fabric of space to emerge from its desolate dimension. It chewed effortlessly.
One of the spatial cracks ruptured, revealing an old white building adorned with golden engravings, exuding a holy aura. It looked like a church sent from the heavens.
The gate opened, and a beautiful woman with a pure and curvy figure stepped out. The moment she exited the holy building, she disappeared, reappearing beside the butler-like figure.
The dog-headed beast also emerged, standing beside the black-and-white figures.
From the last spatial crack, a colossal skeletal head barged through, slamming face-first into the ground. Its massive body tore through the void mercilessly, destabilizing space and exposing traces of the abyss.
The aura of death and the abyss radiating from its body corrupted the land it touched, leaving behind a lifeless, blackened patch.
All four figures, each with explosive entries, appeared instantly before Leo.
Leo was astonished by their sudden arrival, but something deep inside him felt a strange sense of familiarity with these figures.
