Chapter 77 - Four Days

The head with authority, known for his stern demeanor and sharp wit, addressed the tense gathering. "I know tensions are running high within the family," he began, his gaze sweeping over the assembled members. "But until the Squad of the international court concludes their work, I don't want any unnecessary problems. I'm sure you all understand why."

The International Court was a force that Iron had always avoid, and Fray was well aware of this. Despite the Court's usual avoidance of the ancient families, many whispered that they cowered in fear before them. However, everyone in that room knew, or at least sensed, the truth was far more complex.

And even though the Court often turned a blind eye, their presence in Iskar City meant they wouldn't dare do so this time. Such negligence would tarnish their reputation irreparably.

As the head finished speaking, the children of the family responded in unison, their voices a chorus of agreement. "Yes."
