Chapter 2: Prince
'Fine then, so what if the power is not my own? In this life, I'll never settle for second best. I'll rise up and be the king I am supposed to be!'
A few years had passed since those words were spoken. And now was the time to finally see the path that lay ahead of him.
Women in this world have a wide range of extraordinary abilities. These abilities are derived from the men they refer to as husbands. These abilities differ from one man to the next. And since these powers cannot be easily changed, every woman is often picky about who should be her mate.
That is why a test to see what kind of powers can be acquired from a man was created. Each year, every young man aged 18 is given a test to see what kind of powers they could have.
That is why Alio's class now stands in rows in front of the headmistress of the orphanage. The time had come for the children to undergo a test to determine where they lay in the pyramid of society.
With such a serious event, Alio would be lying if he said he was not nervous. After spending 11 more years in this world, Alio's gotten a good grasp of how this world's society operates.
Unlike what he feared in the beginning, this world wasn't some sort of matriarchal society where women rule and men are just playthings. After all, with so much power in the hands of a single gender, it would be odd if they didn't abuse it. After all, even in his past life, men only had such a short difference between women, but they were still oppressed for hundreds, not thousands, of years. Only in recent years has this improved.
But men in this world were not as harshly treated as women in his past life. Although part of it may be due to the fact that it is men who give women their inhuman abilities, So although women more or less have a greater say in the figure of things, men are not disregarded at all. The fact that there is a king and a queen in this world is proof enough.
Plus, due to the fact that males have lower birthrates, men in this world have the right to create harems. So although Alio was still bummed out about not being able to get all kinds of superpowers under his control, having a super harem isn't as bad. Plus, he already has a potential member.
"The tests will be done in the afternoon. Until then, you can all go back to your rooms. And good luck."
With that said, all the young men dispersed to their respective places. But on the way, Alio met with one of the orphanage's teachers.
Like the rest of the teachers, she wore a long black dress that covered even her feet. Her hair was tied into a bun and sat firmly on her head. She wore a white apron that was tied to her waist by a white belt. These chlothes were large in their own right, but on the woman, they seemed a bit thin. More so above her belt, where her large breasts were.
"Teacher Eirene," Alio greeted with a smile, something very rare from him.
With her beautiful and mature face, she reciprocated the greeting with a smile.
"Alio. You seem very excited for someone who is going to receive the greatest trial in your life."
"How could I not be when I am going to marry the most beautiful woman in the world?"
The smile on the woman's face brightened further. "You really know how to brighten a girl's day, don't you?"
"After this test, each day for the rest of your life will be as bright as the sun. Just wait for me." As he said this, he proceeded to hold her hands.
"Please stop; it is forbidden for us to have any intimate contact before your test is conducted." She slowly removed her hands from his and turned her head away.
The power given by a man is highly associated with their sexual libido. During the 18 years they spent growing up, the organ, which is the source of their power, needs to grow unhindered in a way for a better talent and ability to be given when they turn 18. Because of this, before a man is 18 years of age or older, any sexual act is not only frowned upon but also illegal to a certain extent. This is why the orphanage doesn't even have a single girl living in it. Only the much older teachers and caretakers who are strictly taught how to act come into contact with the boys.
Luckily, though, men aren't sexually active before the age of 18. Their puberty and sexual hormones only spewed out until then. But although Alio was already 18 years old, it was still against the orphanage rules.
"It's not against the rules if no one knows about it."
Hearing that, Eirene looked around for anyone passing by before saying, "Then why don't I give you a good luck gift?"
She then grabbed Alio's face and planted her soft lips on his. Her tongue slithered into the stunned Alio's mouth. Parting with his truth and ultimately wrestling with his own.
For a short moment, the two stood like that. That is, of course, until Eirene felt something poking at the helm of her dress. Breaking the kiss, she looked down towards Alio's crotch. An unknown object had set up a tent in his toga.
"I'm so sorry. Its a natural"
Alio attempted to explain his blunder, but Eirene did not seem to mind. She, in fact, seemed more eager to continue.
"Why, you did nothing wrong. But we can't do this.Not now. Wait for tonight; I'll make you a real man."
With a kiss on Alio's head, the beautiful woman left in a hurry. As he watched him leave, he couldn't help but smile like a love-stricken puppy. But as for whether Eirene will be this unknown prince's first wife, only tomorrow's test can tell.
