With a steady roll, the glistening carriage carried Adara and Lucas, with they're go-lucky merchant friend guiding the horses.
From the outside, one would imagine the interior to be sinking leather cushions... Or at least comfortable seats in some way. One would be wrong.
With no other way of storing Titania's merchandise, Adara and Lucas were stuffed against the window, struggling to breath with the heavy weight of clothes and mannequins pressing down on them.
"so about you dagger..." struggled Lucas, his face pressed against the window, "i was just curious about the runes, hehe?"
he waited for Adara's reaction, deciding his next move, from the pure killing intent washing over him, he could deuce that the mage was not amused. in fact, he was actually grateful to the steel armour that was on top of her, as he was pretty sure it was saving his life.
"Curiosity killed the cat, Lucas," she responded tersely, her voice muffled by the layers of fabric and mannequins. "And satisfaction brought it back, but in your case, satisfaction might lead to a much different outcome."
Lucas gulped audibly, realizing that he might have crossed a line. He shifted uncomfortably against the window, attempting to alleviate the pressure from the various items surrounding them.
"You know, Adara," he began, trying to lighten the mood, "I was just thinking about how nice it is to travel in a carriage. So much better than walking, right?"
Adara shot him a pointed look, her emerald eyes narrowing with a mixture of annoyance and amusement.
Adara, despite the confined space and the apparent discomfort of their surroundings, managed to shoot Lucas a stern glare. Her emerald eyes, reflecting a mixture of irritation and curiosity, locked onto him. The enchanting light from the runes on her bone dagger seemed to intensify as she maintained her piercing gaze.
As the carriage rattled along the uneven road, Titania's voice cut through the tense atmosphere inside.
"Alright, folks, we'll be setting up camp soon," she announced cheerfully, her voice filled with the same enthusiasm that had accompanied them since the beginning of their journey. "I've got a spot picked out, nestled by a tranquil stream. It's the perfect place to rest for the night."
The promise of rest brought a collective sigh of relief from Adara and Lucas, who were eager to escape the cramped confines of the carriage.
As the carriage finally came to a stop, Titania leaped down from her perch with the grace of a seasoned traveller. Adara and Lucas followed suit, stretching their limbs and breathing in the crisp evening air.
