Everyone froze except Seraphina who screamed in pain and was trying to get the arrow pinning her shoulder into the ground off. Then chaos exploded and the Hunters rushed back into the covers of the forest.
The Captains shouted orders but they were ignored.
Valor was closer and he was already beside Seraphina, and drove out the arrow with one pull. Several cracking sounds echoed in the air again and Belialthorn leaped from his horse.
He gripped Seraphina's horse, lifted it from the ground, and threw it in the direction of the arrows, buying time. Then he ran to Seraphina, carried her and by the time the arrows came again, he was gone, with her in his hands.
It was a mess. The Hunters didn't wait, they ran, far from the arrows. The third and fourth waves of arrows caught some of them and blood splattered.
