Chapter 11 - Skills

Name: Belialthorn

Species: Human

Age: 18

HP: 150/ 400

AP: 145/400

Strength: 30

Agility: 30

Class: Caster level 1

Skills:

Cursed Bloodline: Infusing one's lineage with demonic power, creating infernal Wraiths using the ghost of his ancestors.

Realm Intersect: This skill allows the caster to temporarily merge with the energies of a chosen realm, gaining enhanced abilities and altering the environment within a specific area.

"Interesting. My new class and skills had joined with my fake class." Belialthorn mused. "Or is the fake not so fake now?"

He looked at the skills again. He chose Realm Intersect because it looked like it would provide good offensive skills for him. What was even merging with the energies of chosen realms? Belialthorn had no idea but he would like to find out.

"Well, at least that is self-explanatory. What is Cursed Bloodline?" Belialthorn mumbled. It wasn't because of offense that he chose this skill. It was simply because he wanted to damn his ancestors, it would be fun to see the Bloodline that made him weak worked for him for once.

"So you have chosen your skills?" The yellow eyes glowed.

Belialthorn smiled, he hadn't thought he would get a new skill, now he didn't have to worry about his Demon class when he could just level up his new Caster class. "Thanks to the system for the class and skills."

Belialthorn knew whoever or whatever was before him wasn't the system. He was beginning to doubt the system.

"Welcome. The god...system thanks you." The yellow light lowered and Belialthorn got the impression that it was flushing but what does it mean by god? The system was not a god. It's just... the system.

They both stood there in awkward silence until Belialthorn cleared his throat. "Hummmm.... can you let me go now?"

"Of course!" The darkness shuddered and then peeled away, the eyes fading with it. leaving Belialthorn standing alone in the middle of the choosing circle.

"You sure take your time." The attendant said flatly his eyes nearly closed.

Belialthorn shrugged, he moved away from the circle joining Karina where he leaned against the chair.

"So you were given Caster." He looked at Thorn with hard eyes. Caster always thought of themselvess as a big deal even though when it came down to real fights they needed tankers— warriors, to keep enemies from them in order to cast spells.

"Anything bad in it?" Belialthorn asked. He wanted to correct Karina that he was the one that chose Caster class but he didn't think it would go well. Choosing your skills and class was rare and it was unnecessary to draw attention to himself.

Karina stood and walked up to Belialthorn. "Nothing of course. Just don't think yourself a big deal now because you got that class."

"Why?" Belialthorn tilted his head up, why was this man getting aggressive towards him?

"Oh. I saw the way you were cozy with the women in my team. Don't think you can slither your way inside our team because you have a class now. You are still a level 1 confused, naive boy." Karina's eyes narrowed.

Anger made Belialthorn's blue eyes flash, and he considered briefly how Karina would taste when he got his hand inside his heart. Who wants to join their team? They have high enough of a level to probably guess Belialthorn's actual level.

It would be difficult to fake it with veteran Hunters, all he wanted was to be left alone.

Fortunately for Karina, Belialthorn wasn't in the mood to kill and blew his cover so he smiled through clenched teeth. "I am not interested in joining your team."

"But you are interested in our women?" Karina gestured.

Interested? Why would Belialthorn be interested in them? Freya was a healer and could be useful but there was nothing that interested Belialthorn in her.

He gave Karina a blank look. "I'm not interested in anyone."

Thorn's voice was flat and Karina had been a scout for a long time and had seen some of the worst of humans so he could at least tell when someone was lying. Thorn was telling the truth but Karina didn't want to believe him.

Since he had nothing to say, Karina waved a warning finger in front of him. "Well, just keep away."

Belialthorn almost regretted not killing the scout as he walked away, his movement smooth and fluid.

"As if I want to join your team," Belialthorn said.

Someone cleared their throat beside him and Belialthorn turned to face the attendant who was holding a pen and paper. "What's your name, age and class?"

"My name is Thorn, age eighteen. The Caster class." Belialthorn said.

The attendant gave Thorn a look over, from all his years of helping with the choosing he had never seen someone so old come for their choosing. People came at age ten to sixteen, anything older than that and the chances of getting unclassified were already high. But to get a Caster class too?

The attendant quickly got down his name and class. "Well, that's all. Can you leave while I attend to the next person?"

"Of course," Belialthorn turned to go, paused, and turned back. "Where will I register for the Hunter's Association?"

The attendant waved his hand around. "You are in the Hunter's Association. Just look around, read the signs on the door or something."

"There are lots of people just begging to be eaten." Belialthorn thought as he made his way outside. He walked around, having no particular place in mind. Thinking about his luck, to think he would get another class when he thought all he had to do was wait years before he could continue leveling up.

The coincidence seems so perfect, that Belialthorn froze. It was too perfect a coincidence and for some reason, Belialthorn thought it was no coincidence at all.

Belialthorn shrugged, coincidence or not all that mattered was that he got a new class. Now, to the next part.
