"Father! How long are we going to wait?!" An impatient shout as he entered the chamber of the monster king... Everything was dark, not a single light inside.
"Lower your voice Tarmun! This is not your territory! We are in the presence of our father!"
"Shut up Kraka! You should know how I feel! We have been waiting for so many years!! And we are still waiting even if we already gathered enough force to attack?!!" Tarmun shouted.
The moment they heard footsteps coming in made them stop. Shumar has returned.
"I have returned, Father... And it seems like all of us have gathered now."
"Shumar..! Where have you been?! We've been waiting for an hour now! Being the eldest doesn't give you the right to make us wait!" Tarmun angrily told him but Shumar ignored him. It was no use in talking to an idiot is what he thinks.
"Now that we have gathered... My children we will start the carnage in a year..."
Tarmun who was impatient said, "What?! Father! Shouldn't we attack now?! We've---" he stopped right after Kraka pointed her weapon at his neck, not only Kraka but his other siblings as well, except Shumar.
They could bear if he would raise his voice since their father had yet to speak, but, to object after he was given an order was crossing the line. Tarmun could have acted tough if only one or two of his siblings were to stop him but facing all of them would only be asking for death.
"Go back to your seats!" Shumar finally raised his voice and asserted his position as the eldest. They did, there was silence until their father said,
"Once the year ends... Weak havoc... Let your bloodlust take over and kill as much as you like. But, if I find out that any of you have attacked... I will devour you..." A threat. A reminder that he was their father and a king.
"Yes, father!" They all replied.
"And, Tarmun, my youngest...Come here."
With his large body, each step he takes makes the ground shake. As he approaches the throne, his father stands up and walks towards him. With the king's appearance as a human, their size was incomparable.
His father does not look up to someone. The more he descends from the throne, Tarmun lowers his head. His father was staring down at him. A part of his shoulder transforms into a giant hand and strikes Tarmun!
With one strike, Tarmun was sent flying and crashed into the stoned wall creating a crater. He fainted. "I may not speak too often, but, I know my place. Do not forget to pay respect in my presence."
"Kraka, carry him outside," Shumar told her. "The rest of you wait for me outside. We will have a short discussion." Shumar waited for them to leave the room.
"Father, I came to report about the human that you mentioned."
"And your thoughts?"
"He is exceptional, I'm not even sure if he was human. I couldn't feel anything from him but my instincts were screaming that I have to avoid offending him."
"If you were to fight him, would you win?"
"I'm not confident that I could deal with him, but Kraka might win since her traits are great against magicians"
"As you know, there are individuals, entities that are far superior to you and your siblings. If you ever face one of them, do not hesitate to flee."
"The only entities that could threaten us are the Guardians, dragon kins, and Gods..." Shumar commented.
"The Gods are restricted from interfering with this matter, they could only help a little by giving blessings to their believers. Guardians are creatures that were created for other purposes, they will not indiscriminately harm us, dragon kins are superior creatures like us, and meddling with those inferior to them is a stain on their pride." The king said and added,
"Shumar, the ones that will make things difficult for us are the Heroes, Unique individuals, and the unity of our enemy."
"Shouldn't we start attacking now that the heroes are weak?"
"Yes, I would also resolve to that tactic, uproot the seeds before they turn into weeds... But we can't..."
"Why? It would create an opportunity for us to win this time!"
"That is all you have to know... Shumar, I don't want any of your siblings dying... Make sure you all are strong enough to survive even facing strong opponents, make sure to help them..." There was a hint of sadness in his voice. Shumar could tell that his father was hiding something from him, from them, that he was keeping something, like a burden...
"Is Tarmun awake?" Shumar asked as he gathered along with his siblings.
"He is," Henna replied.
"I have received instructions from the king, that we will strengthen ourselves the entire year. I will visit your areas to see how you are growing. Also, make sure that you are ready, do not be too complacent. That is all."
. . .
Wilhelm sat and thought about how he was going to do it. Transferring such a large object is not something easy to do, Welrok's shell is as large as a mountain, not just any small mountain, but as large as an entire kingdom.
Compared to the elven territory, it covers about 1/16 of the area. If it suddenly gets transferred then it would leave quite the evidence of its disappearance. Not that it would concern Wilhelm since he already received permission from Lydia, an elder of the elven race.
But the thing that bothers him is the amount of time he will consume before executing the job, he doesn't want to be late with his schedule at the academy but it seems like he has to extend his stay.
He already plans to return Runa back so that she won't get caught up with the delay. If he wanted to make things efficient then he had to think of some way to do it in a way that consumes less time.
He then realized, that if he were to use rune symbols plus the mana crystals that the Fairies have then it might be possible to finish it within two weeks. That would make sure that they arrive a day before the semester begins.
If only he could ask for some help with the Fairies then it would surely do well, but they are busy with their own jobs and it would be too much to ask for their help since they aren't even friends. But wait, Runa was able to befriend a lot of fairies. If he asks her to ask for help from fairies then it would be best to use her.
"Hey Runa, can you ask some of your fairy friends to help us?" Wilhelm asked if he is not the type to be prideful when it comes to finishing a job. He had to consider some factors as well just to make sure that the help he receives is not against their will since he was the one who was tasked to do the job.
"Help with what, master?" She asked.
"I'll be giving out instructions and I really need some help so that we could finish my purpose here and return as early as possible."
"I'm not really sure if they would agree... But, I'll go ask them!"
That's the spirit, actually, Wilhelm already knew that those fairies would not disagree, as long as it's a request from a friend, they will do everything they can to help out. Even if they are busy or doing something, they'll spare time to help out. That's one of the benefits you will receive if you befriend the Fairy race.
And without a doubt, all of those fairies who befriended Runa agreed to help them. With that being said, Wilhelm had to feel at ease now that they could finish the job ahead of time.
What he planned to achieve was to create pillars that would surround the entire area that needed to be transferred. Considering the large area he would need at least 24 pillars.
Each pillar will be made to pin point the locations and Wilhelm will write some rune scriptures to set the commands that needed to be executed. He will just have to create some pillars made from mana crystals. In order to do that, he went to ask Zain where he could get the materials that he was given for him to use.
Wilhelm was guided to their mines and next to the mine was a storage.
"How much do you need?" Asked by the fairy who guards the stones.
"Just enough to create 24 pillars about the same height as me and has a diameter of one meter."
"Anything else?" He asked as if Wilhelm hadn't asked enough materials.
"Three large gemstones."
He flinched, "Large?"
"Yes."
"Sigh~ Fine, I'll bring them to you later."
Gemstones are of higher value than crystals. They can store more mana and can be used as a two-way channel. You can refill mana after it is depleted, it's reusable making it more valuable than crystals that are only for one-time use, once the crystals are used they begin to crumble and fade.
"We got all of the materials that you need! But, I just want to inform you! You will only be borrowing it this time!" The fairy advised Wilhelm.
It was understandable since he was asking not only for a large amount of mana crystals but for three large mana gemstones is too much!
"Don't worry, I already had it in mind that I will only borrow them."
Wilhelm stored all of them inside his space box, the large amount of crystals and gems suddenly fell from a square-like mist beneath.
"All right, thank you, by the way, where can I find a spot for me to work?"
"There's a field there that you can work at, just ensure the safety of the fairies around the area when you're working on the pillar something that you talked about." The fairy said and went back to guard the storage.
Wilhelm already had an idea of the design and function of the pillar that he would be using,
"Runa, keep a certain distance because I'll show you something cool..."
His space box opened from above, crystals were falling like stars from the sky, each of them were guided like the leaves from the trees being guided by the wind. They keep on moving in a very fast circular movements, from small circles to large circles, they are rotating according to their size creating a ring over a smaller ring.
As the speed increased, Wilhelm cast multiple magic circles that surrounded the crystals, and it slowly released energy that melted its solid form creating a lava-like substance. It took him three whole hours to just melt just the right amount. It was exhilarating!
He created multiple barriers that were shaped like a pillar and poured the mana crystals inside. He then extracted the energy from the heat by absorbing it. He had to be very careful with the entire process so that he would not damage the quality of the crystals he had in hand. Accuracy and precision save him from wasting precious materials.
Runa was having fun watching Wilhelm working, the way his focus shifted each time he manipulated the magic he used while creating the pillars, his look was so focused and extremely serious.
"Are you not getting bored?" Isabelle asked Runa. "You've been watching him for a while now... He's been repeating the same process all over again. Well, I have to admit that it looked interesting at first glance but repeating it again and again is you know..."
"I don't know, I just like watching him do something. Everything he does is just so amazing! Whenever I get to see him do something especially if it's related to magic, I get to learn a lot of new things and I just can't help but admire him!"
"I have to admit that he is something for a human... But we don't want to get near him as much as we could." That made Runa turn and wonder what she meant by that.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well... How do you explain this, you see our race could naturally detect someone's mana. Our eyes are very sensitive in that field. The more we look at Wilhelm the more that we want to keep our eyes shut because of how overwhelming he is."
"Is that the reason why you won't approach him?"
"Yes, if you look at him based on our perspective, he's a walking disaster, capable of inflicting severe destruction. We would not want to offend someone like him which is why we have to avoid approaching him to reduce the chances of creating a bad impression. We tend to get a little too clingy when we get attached to someone after all."
"It's not like Master Wilhelm is easily offended. I think he'd appreciate it if some of you try to approach him too,"
"We would love that, but his scent..."
"The scent?"
"Yes, we could smell the purity of someone's mana. Runa has this sweet nectar-like mana so we are drawn to you but your master over there has no scent."
"No scent?"
"Yes! Exactly! No scent! Which means that he is stuck in between. Mana reflects the purity of the heart. If you are kind-hearted, you give off a sweet scent like flowers but if you have a wicked heart, your mana would smell like rotten meat."
"Does that mean he is both kind and wicked?"
"Yes!"
That doesn't change anything for Runa though, Wilhelm is Wilhelm, the kind master that helped her... From what? Helped her from what? Why does she feel so indebted to him? Why does it feel like something is missing like her memories don't match how she feels? She doesn't know.
"Young girl, the Queen wants to have a talk with you." Zain arrived bringing surprising news.
