Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

"How much?" Asked by the robed man.

"That would be five coppers. There's no bargaining on the table that's the cheapest I could go."

"Here." He handed the exact amount to the slave merchant.

"But why would you buy 'this'? I have better products at hand clearly I could tell that you have the money to buy a product with a better quality. Although it's great that I could still profit from a ready to be disposed product but still... This one has already been used by many customers, I have better items that are still clean and if you don't mind I'll show you--"

"No thanks, I'll pass the offer and I got what I need" He cuts him midways as he walked away leaving with the slave he bought.

The man with blue robe, blonde hair and blue eyes goes by the name Wilhelm, a magician. He is heading back to his house after his stroll in a town, he went out of the town's gates and used magic to ignore distance for a short amount of time. Teleportation magic.

Teleportation magic is a dangerous magic as it interfere with the concept of space and time. A single error in the circle would cost you your life. If a mistake was made, you might be trapped inside the time dimension or get stuck in a space dimension.

A tiny misplace of symbol inside the circle would create an irregular course such as getting teleported to the wrong place or worse getting stuck into something solid.

There was a magician who studied the teleportation magic who got teleported in a forest, his foot was stuck inside a tree. Luckily he had counter measures in case that were to happen therefore his foot was saved.

He enforced and covered himself with magic to maintain it's form during process so that the body won't get mixed up with anything that could potentially harm the body. That magician had many trials and errors before his mastery of the teleportatipn magic.

...

Wilhelm arrived at his house. The house looked like a small manor with a tower a quarter taller than his house near the ocean bay. He unlocks the door and entered the house. The place was a bit dusty and messy.

There are some scattered papers on the ground, books and documents are all over the place. It was more like a dump site than a house but despite the mess there were rooms that are neat and clean. Inside his room upstairs.

"Stay in this room for the time being, I'll go and prepare your room for the mean time"

He was talking to the one he bought, a slave. Slavery is legal for some kingdoms in Delios, the human territory. Reolona is one of them, the kingdom he is currently at. Being a slave means a person punished for crimes committed, inherited from their parents, and war captives.

She was in a bad shape, her body was covered with bruises and has ugly scars all over her skin. Most of them are traces from being whipped. Her hair is messy and she reeks of bad scent. The clothes she was wearing resembles that of a dirty rag and her eyes were lifeless, it almost feel like he bought himself a piece of human corpse.

Wilhelm used his magic to arrage the things inside the room next to his, also to remove the dust around the room making it clean and sparkling. It was pretty much easy for him to clean things using magic.

That's one reason why many people who knows him keeps wondering why his place have hints of untidiness when he can clean it instantly. But for Wilhelm's case it was a habit for him to easily remember things.

Inside his research room, some of the books and papers may look like it got shambled but for him, everything is in place and organized but that is only applied inside his study or research area which are located near the entrance of the house. The rest of the house are fairly organized although some places have gone dusty since the only rooms he uses are for his sleep and research.

"What's your name?" He asked her but she didn't answer. She was rather in an oblivious state.

The silence was filling the room. Wilhelm created a magic circle, [Purification]. It's a magic that cleanses impurities. The magic circle appeared beneath her. She was surrounded with shining bubbles slowly circling her. The sight of it brightened her eyes but only for a little. It was pretty, the bubbles' movement is like fluffy cottons gracefully dancing around her.

Then a second magic circle has appeared and was placed on top of her. A light green glow with a beautiful scripted line structure, [Healing Magic]. She could feel the pain all over her body slowly fading away, her wounds closen up and her bruises vanished. She let out a deep sigh indicating a sign of relief.

And another circle appeared, [Reconstruction]. The size of it's rings were bigger than the last two circles. she was experiencing tingling sensation and some of her body parts felt like it was being twisted.

It was supposed to have a painful effect but she didn't scream out of pain. It was simply because she was used to it, she have felt more painful experiences considering the number of her scars.

After applying all the functions and the effects of the magic circles they slowly vanished. The poor slave noticed her body reverted back to it's healthy form, a body brimming with health. She searched her body and the sight of her skin having no traces of wounds nor scars made her eyes cloudy as if tears would fall at any moment.

"You can change into this." Wilhelm placed a pair of clothes near the table inside the room. "I'll wait until you finish changing."

The door was shut closed. In a while, she wiped the tear that was building up on at the corner of her eyes. She took off her old clothes and wore the one prepared for her.

It was Wilhelm's sleeping attire, it was the only thing he had that was considerably comfortable as for he doesn't have any spare clothes that matches his standard. Before giving the clothes to her Wilhelm tampered the size of the clothes using magic so that it could fit her perfectly.

She went outside and looked for him. It wasn't that difficult to find him since the place wasn't that big and most of the rooms doesn't have a door. She found him reading a book inside his study downstairs; he was sitting on his desk as he reads a thick leather book. It was a book related to magic theory. She stood there and watched him, a handsome man with sapphire blue eyes focusing to the book he reads.

Time passed and Wilhelm finished the book, he noticed that the girl remained standing near the door this whole time. She didn't disturbed him and was just there waiting for him.

"What's your name?" His voice echoed the room and the sound of book being closed followed.

"R-Runa" she finally replied. Her voice was soft but shaky. As soon as he heard her voice his eyes shifted on her.

He properly took a good look at her, she wasn't half bad, she has a small face and has brown hair reaching near her waist, a good slender figure with slim waist and has green eyes. She is fairly pretty. But was a bit malnourished.

"Runa? I see, how old are you?"

"N-nineteen"

"Where did you come from?"

"P-Polyan"

"Do you know magic?---" And etc.

He was asking her questions of likes and dislikes and other general things in a delighted way, like talking to a dear friend. Wilhelm has always been the curious guy asking a lot of questions to feed his curiosity.

Runa on the other hand was the hesitant type, she couldn't keep up with the questions as it keeps on coming one after the other and she would sometimes stop and think whether to give an answer or not but in the end she gave a decent amount of reply.

According to Runa, her birthplace is in Polyan, a territory in Reolona, she was a child of a merchant and has little to no knowledge in magic. She likes flowers and cute animals, her hobbies was stitching as it was their family's way of living. She's not picky with her food and loves to sing. Those were some reply she gave.

Wilhelm remembered his mother's words as some of her traits resembles that of what she told him back when he was a child,

'A person who likes flowers and cute animals are good people!' and he believed the concept as his mother was the very evidence of her statement. His mother is kind, she likes flowers and fluffy animals. The very same characteristics Runa have therefore he concluded that she's not a bad person.

"Are you hungry?" He asked because he realized that it's been a couple hours ever since, Wilhelm is already feeling hungry. The sun was about to set.

Runa replied, "N-no, sir...?" She was unsure of how she'll address him.

"Alright then. Let's get something to eat" Wilhelm walked towards Runa and grabbed her hand. He was smooth on grabbing her hand that she didn't react to it. She would usually hide her hands away or show a bit of resistance.

Runa saw the change of the image of her surrounding. They were not inside the study anymore but was outside a town's gates. The sudden change of location left her astounded. Wilhelm walked pass through the gates, there were two guards on post, they saw him and straightened up as he pass through them.

They would usually block people to have a check on their faces but they let Wilhem walked in just fine, indicating that they knew the man. Runa followed him but one of the guard blocked her while having a stern face. Runa got scared of him. The other guard next to him hit his helmet and offered a small bow as he apologizes for the fellow.

Runa doesn't know what to do and was panicking mentally, she saw Wilhelm watching them from a few meters away. And she rushes to his side passing through them. They left the gate post and walked inside the town.

The guards then returned back to their post,

"Are you an idiot?! Do you want us to get scolded?!" Said by the older looking guard.

"I was just making sure--"

"Just making sure my ass, that guy is someone the captain knows."

"To be honest she is just my type I wanted to ask her name so you can't blame me for blocking her"

"In your dreams, with that attitude you'd just scare the ladies away. Anyways that man is a magician don't randomly mess with him, I'll inform the other guards about his companion. We were told to not bother that guy. After all it's best to follow orders"

"But don't you find it weird?"

"About what? The order?"

"No, not that. The clothes she wear. She's wearing a man's sleeping attire."

"Maybe she just likes to wear them?"
