Barely making it to the sink, Vanessa leans over and throws up, the bitter taste making her wince. She grips the edge of the counter, her body trembling as the nausea subsides. For a moment, she just stands there, catching her breath and trying to steady herself.

Vanessa splashes cold water on her face and wipes her mouth before answering. "I'm fine, Mãe. Just feeling a little queasy."
