On that fateful day, Ziri and his parents were having a competition over dinner.

Ziri and his dad always agured about who is more fast in eating. That day his mother decided to settle it.

Ziri and his dad started rushing their food ,they were having fun unaware that some masked men has drilled the lock on their gate and break into their compound.

Bassh, there was a loud noise in their sitting room. I am coming, let me check who is that "ziri dad said as he sprang up in panic", five men that were armed with guns rushed into their room.

Everyone lie down "one of them said with a coarse voice, he quickly went and tied Ziri hands and legs together, then used a rope to gag his mouth.

One of them quickly shot ziri mum and dad , the gun was silent, the bucky man brought out two knives and stab them on the neck, he left the knives on their neck and looked at ziri and shake his head, he came near ziri and scrouch down.

Ziri stayed in the same spot for a long time, he was shivering in fear, weeping and wondering how his life would be without his parents. He tried his best to loose himself but he couldn't, he kept on thinking, struggling and crying but sleep overtook him.

He woke up in the morning, the day was bright, he tried to stand up but he couldn't, he struggled till he became weak, he stared at the wall for some time before falling asleep. He woke up later in the afternoon, his throat was burning and his stomach was grumbling, he was very thristy and hungry.

He reached the door of the dining room which was connected to a staircase that led to the sitting room, he drew a deep breath and rolled on the staircase, he hit his head heavily on the floor while he was landing and got a heavy wound on his head, he winced in pains and blood was gushing out, he was slowly losing consciousness but he was fighting to keep it. After a few moments, he felt like he was flying in the air, everywhere turned blank and dark, then it changed to Mike's house, he could see Mike sitting and reading a book, Mike turned back and saw him, he screamed and ran outside then Ziri passed out.
