Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Thestrals and the Abraxans

"Finish eating scone in your hands."

Braun picked up a napkin on the table and wiped his hands after finishing the rest of the scone.

"Abraxan? Isn't that the horse raised at the Beauxbatons School of Magic in France?

Do our family also raise them? "

Braun wondered out loud.

This is what he knows from the plot in the original Goblet of Fire book.

As for the rest, he doesn't know much about the other Abraxans.

"Oh my God, who did you learn such facts from?

Braun, looks like you'll need to learn a little more about magical creatures.

Your answer is simply too amateurish. "

Mr. Foley covered his head and said speechlessly.

"Isn't that the case? The french raise the Abraxans while the British raise the Thestrals"

"Of course not."

Mr. Foley cuts to the chase.

"Maybe Beauxbatons School has been breeding Abraxans, while Hogwarts is raising Thestrals.

But you have to know that these horses is not a special genus of the Frenchmen and the Englishmen.

Abraxans are distributed throughout Europe. "

Albert and Millie saw their son's confused little eyes.

At this point Braun didn't really know if there were any differences from the original series or if these were information left out of the series for being irrelevant to the plot.

Albert and Millie misunderstood that their son was confused since he didn't learn about Magical Creatures and decided to explain to him patiently.

Mr. Foley sighs:

"Looks like I'll have to tell you about the Pegasus creature.

First of all, you need to know what a Pegasus is.

A Pegasus is a very dangerous magical creature. It is marked by the English Ministry of Magic as a dangerous magical beast on the scale of 6X.

There are many different kinds of pegasus found all over the world.

Don't be in a hurry to ask your questions after listening to me first. "

Mr. Foley raised his hand to stop Braun, who was trying to ask something.

He then continued:

"There are a variety of different breeds of pegasus, including Abraxan, Iseron, Glaring and the rarest of them all the Thestral.

Among them, the largest and strongest is the Abraxan, so it is also mostly used to pull carts and carriages.

Well, Braun, do you have any questions with what i have explained so far? "

"Dad, then why didn't I see in the books that Hogwarts had this kind of horse?"

And the other pure-blood nobles who came to our family's banquet, i have not seen it with any of their carriages. "

Mr. Foley said with some disdain:

"Other pure blood families don't have it because the cost of raising this horse is too high.

Do you know what they drink? "

Braun shook his head cooperatively.

Only then did Mr. Foley say with some fatherly majesty:

"They only drink single-malt whiskey, and a single abraxan has to drink three barrels a day because of their size, not counting the high quality potions they drink like horses drink water.

Who can afford it other than a family like ours that is famous for their wealth? "

Speaking of this, Mr. Foley couldn't help but become proud.

A luxurious carriage is also a reflection of the family's strength.

If it weren't for the high cost of raising Abraxans, he even wanted to add two more Abraxans to his carriage.

"As for Hogwarts...

That's because they have a Thestral that is more precious than an Abraxan, and of course they won't spare to look at the Abraxan. "

"The Thestrals"

Braun couldn't be more familiar with the name.

This is one of the most mysterious creatures from the series.

Only those who have seen death can see it.

This also gives it a dark and gloomy color.

And it's not just that, the core of the Deathly Hallow, the Elder's Wand, the most powerful item throughout the book is rumored to contain the tail hair of the Thestral.

Mr. Foley thought Braun was curious about this creature, and in order to show his superior knowledge as a father, he said slowly:

"That's right, Thestral.

This is an extremely mysterious and rare type of pegasus.

Only Hogwarts in England is known to raise this kind of pegasus.

My father, your grandfather, told me, that these nocturnal creatures developed from one male nocturnal horse and five female nocturnal horses.

They all live in the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts.

Supposedly, because I haven't seen it either.

The Thestral is a black pegasus.

Thestrals are said to have quite a disturbing appearance and the wizards who were capable of seeing them often described these creatures as being sinister and spooky.

They are said to have big, bony figures and their dragon-like faces which has white, glittering eyes that lack pupils.

Unlike the Abraxan, Thestral's wings are said to not possess any feathers at all and are said to have vast, black and leathery wings that are more similar to those of bats.

There is also a long black tail dragging behind them.

When you reach second year at Hogwarts, you may be able to get in the Thestral carriage.

I must remind you though. "

Speaking of Mr. Foley, who is somewhat serious:

"Braun, don't go to the Forbidden Forest to find them.

They are dangerous and there is a high chance that you will be injured or even killed.

And the Forbidden Forest! Remember my words! Don't enter it!

Much less a little wizard like you , even if some adult wizards go in, they will not be able to return in one piece "

Mrs. Foley also put down the snack in her hand at this moment.

She also echoed her husband's words:

"That's right, Braun listen to your dad."

Looking at the serious parents in front of him, Braun could only nod obediently:

"Okay I will.

I promise I will never go to the Forbidden Forest by myself. "

The couple were satisfied and missed out that the spawn of theirs added a hidden clause to his promise.

Braun silently added in his heart:

I will definitely not go alone, and Its not going alone when there are other people with me.

The couple didn't have the kind of careful thinking of a person from the 21st century who have to sign documents with thousands of hidden clauses on a regular basis.

After hearing his son's assurance, Albert Foley only felt that his son was still obedient.

The Foleys, as parents were greatly satisfied by their obedient son's behavior.
