Serendipity: Trials by Fire

I looked down at my side and saw blood gushing from my stomach and my clothes turning into a dark crimson. "Oh Lord help me", I collected myself and turned my head to my opponent. "You, will, never", I wheezed and gasped for air, "will never own the Vauslerios, never!" I lifted my sword above my head, ready to strike her in the chest. "I will never bow and give you the crown of the Autumn Court." My sword came down and gave her a heavy blow to the right shoulder. Blood trickled from the deep wound and yet, she showed no signs of pain. "Oh sister", she smirked and wiped the blood away from her face from a previous punch. "I never wanted those things, just you out of my way." She walked towards me as a wolf prepares for an attack. She gave me a look up and down, then lunged forward with a slash to my side, however; I countered with a defensive position. Keeping her sword from cutting my ribs. "You are nothing, dear sister, just a mistake, and a monster. That is what you will always be. It is in your side of the family after all." She swung her sword and swung it towards my back, but I missed countering it and the sword slashed my back..taking the air out of my lungs. I fell onto my knees. Wheezing and feeling every breath with a wave of pain. She kicked me over, leaving me on the ground. "Goodbye, sister." The cold steel of her sword pushed through the skin on my chest. Blood and the smell of iron filled my nose. Yes, she was right. I am my mother's daughter.
