Denver's POV
"Wha… What happened to me?" Her calm voice resonated in the room as she stared at us, looking confused.
"Ce…" I attempted to stand from where I sat when Elbert quickly rushed over to her corner.
"Sweetheart, you are fine now." He sat beside her, caressing her cheek as he assisted her to sit upright on the bed.
I was a little bit annoyed but tried not to show it.
"I warned you not to go to the woods alone, didn't I?" He lovingly scolded her.
"I'm sorry. I wanted to get those roots, I didn't know I would encounter something like that." Then, her eyes diverted to my corner.
"Who is she?" She asked me with anxiety lingering in her eyes as I swallowed hard.
"Did something happen in the woods?" Elbert's eyes rolled from her, back to me.
