Natalie was standing at the bus stop quietly when it suddenly started to rain. She looked up and smiled, but the smile quickly disappeared when she realized she needed an umbrella because the drop-off was far from her apartment building.
She opened her purse and reached for the umbrella. "Shit!" she couldn't help but curse when she realized she had left it in the apartment earlier, thinking it wouldn't rain. "You're so smart Natalie." She said to herself sarcastically.
Kenzo's car was about to pass by the bus stop when she saw Natalie standing there talking to herself. "Pull over." Kenzo said to his driver and they pulled up in front of the bus stop. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at her. "Do you see anyone with her?" Kenzo said and looked in the rearview mirror of the car.
"No, Sir." The driver merely replied.
They stayed like that until Natalie got on the bus. "Let's follow that bus." He said, and they followed the bus.
Natalie was on the bus wiping her head and purse, she got wet from the rain. "What a nice day." She sighed.
Calvin was sitting on the back of the bus when Natalie got on. He saw her ID lace and that's when he knew they were in the same company. "You don't have an umbrella." He said and looked at the umbrella in his hands.
Natalie pushed the button and Calving quickly got up. "That's not the exit!" the driver shouted, but Calving pretended not to know and ran toward the bus exit.
Kenzo's driver stopped the car on the other side of the road. He pulled out an umbrella and was about to hand it to the driver. "Here." He tried to give the umbrella to the driver, but then he saw that Natalie was already sharing an umbrella with someone. "Never mind." He threw the umbrella on the floor of the car. He looked at them for a moment and saw that she was smiling at the guy holding the umbrella for her. His face darkened. "Let's go. I've wasted too much time already." He said, and the car drove off.
Natalie put the bag on her head, expecting to get wet, but frowned when she felt nothing, she slowly put the bag down and saw a handsome guy smiling at her holding the umbrella.
He has soft features. "I bet he looks so strong when he's not smiling." She said to herself as she looked at him.
"Huh?" Calvin broke the silence. "I noticed you didn't have an umbrella." He said sheepishly and scratched his head slightly.
Natalie shook her head to wake herself up. "Oh uh... um.... Yeah, I don't have one." She said and smiled at him.
"I'll take you." Calvin told her.
"Is that okay? I mean I don't know you and you don't know me." Natalie laughed a little.
Calvin laughed at what he said. Natalie frowned. "I'm Calvin." He told her and smiled.
"Okay, that will do." Natalie told him. "I'm sorry for being a bother." She said and laughed awkwardly. "I'm Natalie." She added.
"You're not. Anyway, we work at the same company." Calvin said, that made Natalie look at him.
"We do?" she said and narrowed her eyes. "I didn't see you." She said and looked in front of her.
Calvin smiled. "I work at the construction site mostly, so it's normal that we don't see each other." He told her shyly.
Natalie nodded and looked at his shoulder, which was getting wet from the rain. She smiled at his thoughtfulness. "Oh, that makes sense," she nodded, "Do you live near here?" She asked him.
"Uh, yeah." Calvin replied as if he wasn't sure.
"I'm so grateful I ran into you," said Natalie, and stopped in front of her apartment building.
Calvin smiled. "So am I." He said, and they walked towards the entrance of the building.
Natalie suddenly turned around, which made Calvin jump and laugh at her. "Sorry." He laughed.
"So yeah, we're here already. Thanks for allowing me." She smiled at him.
Calvin just looked at her until he couldn't see her anymore. He smiled when he realized he had been standing there for so long and left.
Natalie changed clothes and went to the kitchen to eat with Daisy.
"I'm so tired." Natalie complained.
"Same." Daisy said and took a sip of the soup she prepared for them.
Natalie took a sip of the soup. "You know what happened to me?" she sighed and said to Daisy.
"What, is it because of Kenzo?" said Daisy and raised an eyebrow.
Natalie looked at her. "How do you know?" She said and Daisy shrugged. "I got locked out of the office and had no choice but to call him. I thought he cared about me for a moment, but he scolded me," she rolled her eyes.
Daisy nodded. "And so?" She asked her.
"Then I kept quiet the whole time we were in the elevator because I obviously didn't want to talk to him." Natalie said and took a sip of her soup.
Daisy took her bowl to the sink. "You don't want to talk to him?" she asked and sat back down. "Why did you call him then?" She asked her.
"I don't have a choice, okay? He's the only person who took my call." Natalie replied.
"So what happened next?" Daisy asked and took a drink of water.
"He suddenly asked me what I was thinking." Natalie paused. "Since I didn't answer she kept asking and asking." She rolled her eyes.
Daisy listened to her intently.
"He brought his face so close to me that we almost kissed." Natalie said, that made Daisy squeal and smack her.
"Aww." She said and massaged the arm Daisy hit.
"Omg!" Daisy said and put her hands to her face.
"I was talking here for a long time, and you only reacted when I said that." She rolled her eyes.
Daisy smiled, "What do you mean? I've been nodding my head every time you talk, I have a stiff neck here," she told her, "I think he likes you." She added and narrowed her eyes at her, "I'm sure he does," she told her.
Natalie scoffed. "That's impossible. I think he has a relationship with my project manager," she said to her.
"Really?" Daisy scoffed. "He had made an intimate with you while he was in a relationship? What a mean guy." She said as she shook her head. "What is this, hit-and-run?" She added and rolled her eyes.
Natalie was silent for a moment and said, "Okay." She said with a sad tone. "It's just a one-night stand." She sighed.
Daisy looked at her friend and couldn't help but be sad for her. She walked towards her direction and hugged her. "Don't worry, you're a good person, so I know you'll meet a good person too. Forget about that hit-and-run guy and let's wait for the person-destined for you."
Natalie smiled at what Daisy said, it comforted her.
Kenzo went home and threw his Louis Vuitton bag on the couch and then went straight to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and looked at it for a moment, then grabbed a beer. He walked over to the couch and sat down on it, unbuttoned the first button of his polo shirt and drank his beer. He looked at the 72' inch TV in front of him, and it showed Natalie, who was smiling with a boy holding her umbrella. His eyebrows rose, and he took another sip of his beer.
"Is this how you treat everyone?" he said, looking at the TV as he imagined what he had seen earlier. "Flirty." he said and finished his beer in one gulp.
The next day, Natalie went to work early, so she could continue to review and finalize her designs, so there wouldn't be any problems when she passed it on to Lauren, her project manager, and Kenzo, her boss.
She stared at her laptop for a moment. "Perfect." She smiled and printed out his designs.
Lauren walked in. "Is your design done?" she asked Natalie with the laptop in her hands.
Natalie stood up. "Yes, I just printed them out." She told her.
Lauren took a sip of her Americano. "Okay, bring it to my office, so I can check." She said and walked into her office.
Natalie took her designs and put them in the folder and then followed Lauren into her office.
Lauren was talking on the phone when she walked in, so she motioned for her to sit down for a moment.
"Let me see." said Lauren when she ended the phone call.
Natalie handed her the folder with her designs.
Lauren looked at it silently, flipping through it slowly for good inspection. She nodded her head. "Great! This will do the trick. I see you've done your best." He congratulated her.
Natalie smiled shyly. "Thank you." She said and left the office. She sighed in relief that she had finally approved the designs she had been working on for the past few days and had been praised by her project manager. She's in a good mood as she works throughout the day.
Lauren passed the designs Natalie made to Kenzo.
"Here are the designs for our department's project." Lauren smiled and handed it to Kenzo.
Kenzo raised his eyebrows and took it. He saw the cover with Natalie's name on it.
He opened it without saying anything, flipped through it but closed it without even looking at the whole thing. "This is it?" he asked and looked at Lauren.
Lauren smiled, "Yes. You haven't looked at them properly." She said and smiled awkwardly.
"There's noting there to see." Kenzo said and put the folder on his desk aggressively. "Call Natalie." He said with a straight face.
Lauren returned to her office with her hands on her head. "Tell Natalie that Mr. Kenzo is looking for her." She told her secretary and leaned back in her chair and sighed.
Natalie was working so happily, she was humming and smiling nonstop.
"Miss Lewis." Lauren's secretary called her name, she looked up at her. "Mr. Kenzo wants you in his office." She said and left.
Natalie's face went pale.
