Gargamel wanted to say something in response to this, but he didn't get a chance.
The same thing happened before where a burst of blood appeared around Veronica, but this time it was even more powerful than before.
This time, the blood swirled around her to form a tornado of blood that seemed to block out the sun itself.
Gargamel's chin dropped in shock the moment that he saw this before he stammered, "You, you, how, why, you…"
He wasn't able to form coherent sentences when he saw this tornado of blood in front of him.
After a moment of hesitation, he no longer hesitated as he tapped the muscular man under him and said a single word.
"Run."
This time, he no longer tried to act tough since he could feel the power coming from that blood tornado.
Even if the muscular man under him was powerful, this blood tornado was not something that he could resist.
So the only thing that they could do now was run as fast as they could to keep their lives.
But Veronica wasn't going to let them go.
So with a snort, the blood tornado suddenly started moving forward.
The muscular man wanted to run, but found that he couldn't move at all.
When Gargamel looked down, he found that there were tendrils of blood that were holding onto the legs of the muscular man.
Seeing these, he immediately said, "Break free of these bindings now!"
The muscular man reached down to try and break free, but no matter how hard he pulled at these bindings, he wasn't able to rip them at all. In fact, the moment that he touched these bindings, they suddenly started to creep up onto his arms just like vines made of blood.
No matter how hard the muscular man swung his arms, he wasn't able to break free of these blood vines that seemed very fragile.
Gargamel had a very ugly expression on his face when he saw all of this and it became even uglier when he saw the blood vines creeping towards him.
So without any hesitation, he jumped off the muscular man and seemed like he was about to run on his own.
But when he jumped into the air, he found that there was something that pulled him in.
This was the suction from the blood tornado.
No matter how hard he tried to resist, he found that he couldn't break free of this suction force at all.
Even when he turned into a bat and flapped his wings as hard as he could, he was still pulled in by the suction force of this blood tornado.
In the end, he couldn't resist as both him and the muscular man were pulled in.
Bits of them were still visible at first, but then they completely disappeared.
A minute after they disappeared completely, Veronica gave another snort and the blood tornado cleared. When it cleared, there wasn't a single trace of Gargamel or the muscular man left at all.
Instead, there was just some blood that was left behind that was thrown by the force of the tornado to the ground.
After taking care of Gargamel and the muscular man, she turned her gaze to Elizabeth and said, "Now, what will you do?"
Elizabeth trembled when she heard this, but she didn't make a move.
She looked down a bit as if she was considering something before saying, "I want to go back and find the truth for myself. If the Blood Lord really…"
She didn't finish what she was saying, but it was clear what she was implying.
The way that she said all of this, I really couldn't help thinking of her as an anti hero now.
She was definitely someone who was betrayed by the villain and would come to the side of the heroes in the end!
This was a common trope, but it was exciting seeing it in real life.
Veronica gave a nod before a drop of blood formed in the air.
This drop of blood formed a hand made of blood and reached into her pocket to take out a blood red token.
She would have used her actual hands to do this, but even now…she was holding me in the princess carry. It didn't seem like she had any intentions of letting me go…
The hand made of blood floated through the air before stopping in front of Elizabeth.
The way that it floated there, it was as if it was waiting for Elizabeth to take the blood red token from it.
Elizabeth also saw this, so she slowly reached out and took the token.
As she looked down at it, she couldn't help revealing a shocked look before looking up at Veronica with a gaze that almost seemed uncertain.
Veronica didn't mind this at all and said, "Take it. If you need help, you can use that to get help."
Elizabeth revealed a complicated expression, but in the end, she said, "Thank you."
Then with a wave of her hand, she and the handsome men all transformed into bats and flew into the air.
In a matter of seconds, they disappeared from this place.
There was only Veronica and me left standing there.
Well, she was standing and I was still being held in a princess carry.
She slowly looked down at me and I could only reveal an awkward look as she looked at me like this.
Neither of us said a thing and there was an awkward silence that filled the air.
Eventually, I was about to say something to defuse the tension.
But before I could say anything, I felt myself falling forward.
It wasn't that she dropped me, but rather Veronica suddenly swayed and fell forward a bit.
She was able to stop herself, but it was clear by the look on her face that she wasn't well.
I revealed a concerned look right away as I said, "Are you…"
Before I could finish, she looked up at me with an ambiguous look that almost seemed like she was enamoured by something as she said, "Ah, I can smell the sweet blood."
Then she started moving her mouth towards my neck.
