A month before the wedding of Zhou Yang & Yi Han
--
Zhou Yang : Yi Han, i'll come pick you up at 6 alright?
Yi Han: Okay, see you tonight, birthday boy.
Zhou Yang: I love you.
--
Today is Zhou Yang's birthday, Yi Han planned to celebrate his birthday just one week before their wedding. However, time was not on her side. Yi Han was swarmed with work in the last hour, afraid she'll not be able to make it for Zhou Yang's birthday.
Yi Han is a producer in a leading broadcasting company in Shanghai, Xin News. She is the brain behind the cameras, in-charge of narration, scripts and developing program material. Working in a fast-paced environment, time is precious to ensure TV presenters get their scripts before going live on national tv.

6pm, Xin News Building
It was pouring outside, Zhou Yang was waiting in the lobby, while Yi Han was behind schedule and still preparing for tomorrow morning's live report. She knew it's impossible to leave the office. She hastily makes her way to the lobby to meet Zhou Yang.
"There you are, ready to leave?" Zhou Yang was a little upset that he had waited 30 mins, but he didn't show his unhappiness to Yi Han. He then noticed Yi Han wasn't carrying her purse with her, his eyebrow creases.
"Zhou Yang...i'm so sorry, i'm still caught up in work to prepare for tomorrow's live scripts.." Yi Han was guilty and apologized, knowing he would be upset not celebrating his special day.
"Not again? So..we're not having dinner together then?" Zhou Yang asked, feeling dejected as he held her hands.
"We can have dinner at this cafe nearby! their food is pretty good and they have your favourite steak too!" Yi Han suggested, trying to lift his spirits a little.
"Alright, I don't have a choice right? I think I love you too much to be angry at you." Zhou Yang smiled and agreed to have dinner with her at the cafe nearby.
Shortly after the meal, Yi Han arranged a chocolate mousse birthday cake and brought it out to Zhou Yang, singing happy birthday softly to him.
"Happy birthday Zhou Yang, may your wishes come true and may our wedding be a smooth sailing one!" Yi Han held the cake with candles lit, hoping this would make up for the disappointment he had.
He smiled gently and blew out the candles. The cafe's waiter also offered to take a photo for them to commemorate this occasion. Just like any other couple, they look like a happy couple in love, with their wedding happening in just one month's time.
After the dinner, Yi Han had to return to the office and continue working through the night, she held onto his hands before bidding goodbye at her office lobby.
---
Zhou Yang: Do you not want me to pick you up later?
Yi Han: No it's okay..besides, tomorrow we're…
---
Just before Yi Han could finish her sentence, Zhou Yang's phone beeped, an incoming text message that interrupted their conversation.
Zhou Yang's brows furrowed, looking uneasy. Yi Han was curious and asked, "Are you okay? who's texting you?"
"Oh, it's James and the boys. They're asking if I'm done and asked me to join them for some drinks at the bar." Zhou Yang answered quickly, trying to put up an act.
---
Yi Han: Oh, that's actually a good idea, you should join them to enjoy your birthday night.
Zhou Yang: Are you sure? Will it be ok to go home on your own this late?
Yi Han: Of course, I'm a grown girl, besides we're meeting tomorrow to try on our wedding gown & suit.
Zhou Yang: Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then.
---
Yi Han nodded with a smile before waving goodbye to him. Zhou Yang let go of her hands and walked back to his car. Looking out from his car, he watched Yi Han walk back to the office lobby before adjusting his rear mirror.
Zhou Yang then reached out for his phone, scrolling through his contacts dialed on "Lan Xin" while tidying up his hair in the mirror. The corner of his lips curled up, his face changed eerily, as if he's a changed person with split personalities, looking completely different as he was in front of Yi Han.
The call connected to "Lan Xin" for a while when the other side finally answered the call.
"Hello my darling.." Zhou Yang called out.
Lan Xin? No, it cannot be…
