What's an eroge ?
One would think, ' it's just an hentai game, isn't it ?' , but that's where most people are wrong !
Starting from the various genres, be it a simple gacha rpg, a story telling one, or even a replica of a dating app, there's actually a lot more than what the eyes can see.
And ' Erotic Game Maestro ' is one kind of a game between them all, the one and only that stood at the first place in front of the multitude that came out before and after the release of that game.
A masterpiece, that's what it is.
But there is one question that every beginner will ask, why is this game, and not another one, the first one by all ?
The answer to that, is ' Variety ' , that's right.
As simple as it may seem, this single word held a community that could satisfy everyone that played it.
So, how does ' variety ' works in an eroge ? Is it the story that can be changed depending on the choices made by the player ? An entertaining gameplay and a bunch of minigames with different controls ?
No, it's not about that, and although this game had everything listed above, the one and only reason it maintained it's place is because of the 2000 and more unlockable characters.
By obtaining blank, golden or rainbow cards while accomplishing missions and the story, or even shards of cards in events that could be then merged into a full one.
Once one of those cards obtained, it was possible to submit a total of 5 tags and then get a character with the corresponding five and more.
Be it the genre, sexual orientation, age, race, combat class and even a kink, it was possible to put almost everything in those five tags and with characters having more than 20 tags for each of them, you couldn't even be sure of who you will get, even if you aimed for a specific character.
That's the kind of variety this game was offering !
And after a bit more than a year, a player, with the name of Arthur, finally got in the top place world-wide, winning even against the creator of the game with a stroke of luck.
Coming from a rich family, he spent a lot on the game, trying to have the biggest collection of girls that could be seen on the R-community.
Once he was done with them, he set his eyes on the males too, and then onto the various categories next, futanaris, shemales, femboys, he didn't let go of anything until he was sure to be done.
It was a tremendous effort, especially with the game being updated about every two weeks, and his own wallet feeling somewhat thin once he was done with his collection, that's also when he felt a loss.
What was there to be done once he finished to obtain every current characters available ?
Surely, it wasn't him who came with the answer to such a question, but a few comments under his posts that he uploaded to fill his own vanity.
The goal being, to be the ultimate number one and beat the creator of the game at it.
Since he started his journey, a lot joined him in it, and actually almost caught up to his now well-known collection, so to stand as the number one and not be forgotten, he decided to grip tightly on that goal and started to really put himself on the pvp aspect of the game.
For a whale like him, one that could put thousands of dollars on a whim, his climbing of the ranks wasn't really difficult, until he reached the five last player, the ones that were standing in front of him like an absolute wall that could not be climbed.
Players that would put everything to obtain the current meta of the game, with broken characters, each team was the same, and the only one who could win would be the one able to do the more critical hits and dodges.
For such a gacha game, based on luck, it was ironic that the only way to be the first was to be the luckiest among them all, but he did it anyways.
With a ' Victory ' written in gold on his screen, at that moment, he felt satisfied, fulfilled that the hours, days and even months in the game were not for nothing.
He was finally the first one... Yeah, he was.
When the realisation hit him, although glad to have accomplished his goal, he also felt empty when he thought of playing this game as stagnant water.
Would he just keep his first place, and keep using cards each time a character would come out, trying to get it ? What would he do when he was done with it then ?
Thinking about trying to find a new game for a moment, an icon appeared on the bottom of his screen, signaling a new mail received.
Moving his mouse to click on it, he was surprised by a mail from the creator itself.
But it was just that, a congratulation message and a thanks for playing the game till now and for his support to keep it alive on the community.
Sighing at the sight of that single ' reward ' , he finally got up and stretched himself before going to his king-size bed, leaving the screen turned on with that mail on it, thinking of taking a screenshot tomorrow to post it on the forum.
Well, it surely was a good ending for Arthur.. Or was it ? Since as soon as he woke up, he found himself in a house in the middle of nowhere.
