Chapter 3 - Plus One

It's been almost an hour since Riot left his team to search for medical supplies. Jackal hasn't shown any symptoms yet but Dozer was still on his guard.

Riot quietly snuck down the streets of the once-thriving town. All he could think about was how he would get the supplies and if Jackal would survive, those two were like brothers to him. he soon came across a Pharmacy, making his eyes light up behind his goggles. He quickly ran up to the entrance doors and tried opening it. However, luck wasn't on his side and it was locked.

Out of pure frustration, Riot kicked the door with the heel of his boot. Surprisingly the door didn't resist much causing it to break off its hinges and fall to the floor. The crashing of the door was somewhat loud but luckily there weren't any undead roaming the area at the moment.

Riot quickly made his way inside and scrambled around for anything of use. The place was a ghost town for supplies and it was quiet, a bit too quiet.

Suddenly he heard footsteps getting closer to him. He pulled the M1911 out of his holster and prepared for an attack. Once the footsteps were about to reach him, he pressed the trigger slightly to make sure he shot before whatever it was could attack him.

To Riot's surprise, it wasn't a zombie, however it was a person. They both looked at one another surprised. Riot lowered his gun and sighed with relief.

"Holy shit you scared me! who are you anyhow?" Riot asked the person. They looked at Riot for a moment before opening their mouth to speak.

"Oh sorry about that, my name is Deacon, and I am a field medic. from the Turkish Army" The man addressed himself in a somewhat formal way which threw him off a little but he didn't let that bother him. "You?"

Riot hesitated for a moment but figured he might as well. "They call me Riot, If you couldn't tell I'm special forces." Deacon looked at Riot's gear and nodded. "So you're a field medic? Do you think you can help my injured friend?" Riot pleaded slightly.

"Hmm I can but what do I get out of it?" He asked, now with a brow slightly raised. Riot thought about it for a moment but there was only one thing he could offer.

"How about full-time protection, food, water and somewhere to live? what I'm saying is if you help my friend then you can tag along with me and my team, sound good?" Riot bargained.

"Hmm yes that'll do" Deacon nodded. Riot gestured for him to come with him and they started making their way back to the group.
