Shibuya, Japan
"Welcoming, Genius, Inirika Toujou"
The same robotic voice greets me once again in the morning. To say I've gotten quite sick of it is an understatement. I hate it. Abhor, even. My own invention is something I hate, can you believe it?
"Ah, Inirika, you're unusually early today, what's the occasion?"
"Tch."
He knows i wont respond, so why does he even bother? This is why I can't believe I'm lumped in the same species as this idiot.
I look around at the technology around me, all of which were my inventions, all said inventions, are inventions I hate.
I walk towards the door of my lab, which i keep locked for any other outsiders.
"Infinity again today, huh...?"
...
I call them dumb, but i suppose I too, can have such "dumb" moments...
When was it I wonder? The time wheb I heard a scientist suggesting the existence of "one singular point of Infinity", in other words, the singularity of Infinity? It really is a stupid concept, how could there be just one of something, anything in this wide universe? Yet here I am still trying to research and try to prove something. Question is though... what exactly am i trying to prove...?
Ah right. My lab. Hope no one saw me just standing right outside my door.
*beep*
"Welcome, Genius Scientist, The one who initiated The Astral Revolu-"
*SMASH!*
The sound of my fist, followed by electrical leakage.
"Error. Error. Error. Error"
"Guess I'll have to fix your stupid program"
I walk in through the door, and immediately, I felt something was off.
"Huh?"
What is... that?
Or rather... WHO is that...?
"Ah, a fine specimen."
"How did you get in here?"
Ah. This isn't the time to be asking questions. This is one of those cliches where the character asks too much questions and die because of their stupidity. Best skedaddle then.
That i do, I dart away over to the left, instead of the long hallway I came from...?
Eh?
My... chest...?
*THUD*
Outskirts
"...ister..."
H-huh...?
"Big sister, wake up!"
I dart awake, and look at my surroundings.
" You suddenly fell, big sister, are you alright...?"
This girl... is my family...?
No wait...
"Where the hell is this...?"
"Huh? I don't get it...? This is the Outskirts."
"Yeah I know its a fucking outskirts. Outskirts of where you stupid idiotic child."
She starts tearing up.
Tch. Children really are useless.
That was when I felt an unimaginable pain in my brain. It was as if I'd stubbed my toe, if my toe had more nerve endings than the average humans. My legs grow bubbly, as they can no longer support the unimaginable weight of my body, making me fall.
What is this... information?!?!
Loads of information are attacking my brain all at once, as if they're boarding fighter jets to steal a candy from a doll. It hurts. My brain is focusing all energy to deal with the pain right now, so I start moving in ways I never wanted to. I start bashing my own head onto the ground, bleeding profusely. I stop being able to think, until after 5 seconds, which felt like millenias, it all finally clears, and I've regained what was once me... No, I've gained something more...
I glance over at the girl, not noticing the creepy smile I had on my face, contrasted by the amount of blood that came from me bashing my head onto the rock. I start laughing like a madman, and the little girl start to inch away from me, fearing for her safety.
"HAHAHAHAHA... INFINITE POSSIBILITIES...! IT TRULY IS REAL! A FANTASY WORLD! HAHAHAHAHA!"
Finally, finally I can escape from the life I once lived, a life so excruciatingly boring, and oh so meaningless.
Ahhhh...
"Finally, I can have some fun..."
As thanks...
" Let's start with you, little girl... Hehehehe..."
" Big... sister...? Y-you're going to take me to mama... and papa now... right...?"
I inch closer to her, my smile seemingly grows outside of my control. She starts crying louder.
"I just wanted to go back to mommy..."
Atalonia
Amazing... totally amazing. UTTERLY amazing. A city in the clouds?! Never in my life would I think for this to be possible!
Surrounded by bird-like people, i get into a library of sorts, only to see the librarian and a man doing a filthy act in front of the entrance.
Tch. Maybe this world wasn't as good as I Initially thought.
They have physical properties of a bird, talons, wings, but their body and head represents that of a human, meaning they too, should posses human's carnal desires, huh? It would be easy to eliminate if they'd retained the head of a bird... Well, I suppose this is a good time to test my ability.
I go over Infinite Possibilities.
Hmm... Certainly, there are some possibilities I win, and some where I win instantly, where some of them I don't even need to act, and they'll die due to natural causes... but how does this work, exactly? Must I follow the actions directly? Let me try choosing one.
Here. That one.
As if locking onto the possibility and course of action, I feel the Universe moving towards me, and ONLY me...
30 seconds... They should implode due to a random drastic increase in pressure in 30 seconds...
I can only look in anticipation. Is it really going to happen?
I look through Infinite Possibilities again, and indeed, the only possibility that remains is them being crushed under pressure...
I wait, and wait, my heartbeat starts to become audible...
Dub Dub Dub Dub Dub...
... but nothing happened...
Too good to be-
*Screeeeeeech Bramp!*
*Splat*
Ba dump, ba dump, ba dump, ba dump.
My heart rate accelerates.
That... that...
"Amazing..."
HEHEHE! AMAZING!! HOW WONDERFUL! STUPENDOUS! WITH THIS, SURELY MY LIFE WILL BECOME LESS BORING! HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA!
After that the library was closed, but I'd still managed to get enough information to go by in this world. This world goes by 2 main systems of power, and according to said main systems are where you'll be ranked. Magic, and strength. Strength is self explanatory... but magic...
*sigh*
Let's see if I remember... oh who am I kidding, of course I remember, I am me!
To conjure any magic spell, you'll have to exchange something, always, if you don't have mana, then something equivalent will suffice. There are tiers of magic, 7 to be exact... each of them ascending in strength as we ascend each tier...
Low Tier, which requires little sacrifice.
Mid Tier, which requires well, mid sacrifice.
High Tier.
Low-Ultimate Tier.
Ultimate Tier.
High-Ultimate Tier and finally...
Legendary Tier...
Though, I doubt the existence of the Legendary Tier, since in existence, only the creator of magic was able to use it... It's said in urban legends and myths that he exchanged his entire life source and soul to conjure the magic... Hence my assumption. There is no proof in the existence of this "creator" so.
There are exceptions, however... Magic users who uses a grimoire are exempt from the law of equivalent exchange, in exchange for having to find the spells themselves...
Grimoire users not only sacrifices having to find the spells themselves, but also suffers from reduced cast time, but in exchange, they're exempt, and they can set multiple grimoires down at one time, so long as that grimoire contains at least one magic, it will be able to be summoned an indefinite amount of times at one time... but most importantly... if they find the spell page for a Legendary Tier...
They can use it.
To avoid wasting time finding spell pages, the ones who uses grimoires are usually the ones who was grimoire users passed down from generation to generation.
Haha... This world... is interesting again...
I find somewhere to sit, before finding a place overlooking the scenery.
"..."
"..."
I look down at the ground beneath me.
My legs shiver.
Some things don't change, huh?
"..."
"..."
What if...
I go through Infinite Possibilities, and choose one possibility where I survive the fall.
Ba dump, ba dump, ba dump, ba dump
Heh... Let's do it, shall we? JUST FOR THE FUCKING THRILL OF IT!!
I jump down, and start falling down at an immense speed
*zwoosh BAM!*
*cough cough cough*
Amazing... honestly... amazing... hehe....
